I agree I watched and really just had cards from the golden age era. I played duel links when it came out and that really got me back into the game but the cards really got just ridiculous after synchro summons and I quickly stopped playing.
Last duel was so good. The counters clearing Maha and relinquished? Then drawing Monster Reborn to take it and end the duel? Could’ve came straight out the anime with that one.
Paul: Megamorph is a little unreliable card Also Paul: - Runs Upstart Goblin to increase opponent's life points - Can halve his own life points at any time (Jirai Gumo, Solemn Judgement) - And also runs Maha Vailo His deck is screaming for that Megamorph 😂
I'm glad they have every searcher in these retro packs. They also seem quite common. Makes the duels not go at a grueling pace like old yugioh drafting can sometimes be when you can get to the point so easily
I can't believe I'm saying this but this is already becoming my favorite dueling series you guys have done. Nostalgia + funny top decks are making this really entertaining.

The gba music is sick, I pulled out og starter decks and played my gf the other day, pulled a relinquished and we had a hilarious time playing because it has been over ten years. Fun!
I hope to see this series go on for a while! I love these types of videos and the like "Rare Hunters" and "Slifer Slackers" types and it's always a shame that they feel like they don't last very long because they're a lot of fun.

I don't know how to play yugioh, used to collect and trade them back in school, but this series is so addicting. you play with all the cards I used to collect - absolutely love it
While some Problem Solving Card Text would be neat, having the cards un-errata'd is nice and the Normal Monsters not having /NORMAL on them is a yes from me.
Have you all done a draft based series? Where you share some boxes and layout all the cards then take turns drafting a deck. It could be interesting to also have draft turns where your opponent picks for you to switch it up. Just a thought. Love the Retro Rival series already!
This is what I loved about ygo, the back and forth and those little ways to overcome whatever your opponent is doing with some combination of 1 or 2 cards
Keep making these videos. These videos definitely take me back. There is nothing like the original series of yugioh. And I’m a straight up original generation player.
I've been waiting. I literally do not understand new Yu-Gi-Oh so I don't bother playing. This set and this series have been a god send for my nostalgia.

I knew there was something wrong, Amazoness Chain Master says "pay 1500LP" which back then not everyone would do. To be fair even -1500 he would still have 450LP but hey good to know. (I'm on duel 2 so I can't comment more about it though

This set seems super fun as a build as you go thing you guys are doing. 1 box definitely isn't enough but as the series keeps going these decks are gunna end up super spicy and can't wait for it! Feel bad for Alec for sure with the relinquished thing though, but still absolutely hilarious (since it wasn't happening to me 😂) hope Alec can get a relinquished to stick in the future and live his dream of being known as the relinquished guy
