- A pocket square is that last finishing touch on your suit-a way to add a pop of color or an accent. Folding a pocket square may seem difficult, but in fact, it's fairly easy once you understand a few basic fold styles.
In this video, Kyle Ingham of The Distilled Man talks about why every man should wear a pocket square, and shows how to fold a pocket square seven different ways.
He covers a range of different pocket square folds from the most basic, the straight fold, all the way through the "winged puff" and the "3 stairs."

Wow 1 of the best explanations on how to fold a pocket square.
Thx
Nicely done, thanks.
The three stairs . Wow, that's old school. My dad used to do it like that.
j'aime votre travail ,merci beaucoup pour tout
Thanks for showing me bro.👍 I hope the ladies love it..👍 2018.. Yeah...✌
Wow, fantastic! That will come very handy :D Thank you, Kyle!!
Thanks so much, Carlos Alberto Andres! Glad you enjoyed it! Do you have a favorite fold yet?
The Distilled Man
I do man! :D My favorite fold is the Straight Fold! I like it because it is simple and easy to do. But next, I'd go to the One-Point, Three Stairs and finally the Puff (in order of preference, hehe). They are all amazing! But I guess there are a lot more then these, right? These are the "most popular", I suppose... Also, I downloaded the cheat sheet, I'm gonna print for future consults! Btw, I'm gonna apply one of these folds tonight in a party of a friend!! Thank you Kyle, keep up with the awesome tips :D
Very simple!
Like your hair cut. it's cool
Thanks
Folding starts at 3:30.
Best video, if you want to learn how to fold a pocket square.
Look nice 👍
Very good. Thanks.
But what do think of the idea that the pocket square should match the *shirt* and no the tie? (And what about those pre-folded squares!?)
Thanks! I think matching the shirt can work as well--absolutely. And sometimes that ends up being more subtle. Ugh, I hate the pre-folded squares! It's not that hard to fold a real pocket square, and it gives you so many more options.
The Distilled Man can you iron pocket squares to get the creases or the prefolds out
+Izaiah Laureano, yes you can. Just read the tag to make sure you're using the right heat setting for the fabric. And for silk, you'll probably want to lay another piece of cloth over the pocket square when you iron it. Good luck!
The Distilled Man thank you
thanks
you're welcome! Glad you found it helpful
How do you make sure it sits flat and doesn't look like you stuffed your pocket?
+Mark Oglesby When I fold my pocket squares I set the fold with an iron. Once the square is folded I then iron the whole thing flat. Bear in mind that only really works for a few folds, and not all of them.
you are amazing
thanks Ghuman!
Doh!,fitted, even.😉
Well sir i think you r the most handsome stylist on youtube ;)
Mandeep Baweja Ha, thank you! Very kind...
You're the best man I'd want you to be my best man
What about the gentleman aspect of the pocket square, you know at the funeral or wedding when the lady next to you doesn't have a hanky to dab a tear and the gentleman can offer his pocket square?
Great question, Anne! There's a difference between a handkerchief and a pocket square. The pocket square is more of an accessory for show, and the handkerchief is for nose-blowing and tear-dabbing. But you're right, I should do a video around handkerchiefs. thanks for the suggestion!
Nic
holy shit...this is much harder than it looks! I think it might be because i have a quite cheap handkerchief, my suit is rather expensive, but the pocketsquare won't stay in place and slips all over the place! So annoying!
I don't think more "highly" of a man wearing a pocket square, it just looks good.
Deadpool teaches pocket squares
This man looks like The god of thunder :- Thor ⚒️
He looks like Ryan Reynolds if he went to a private school
If someone searches pocket square folds, they already know the reasons to wear it....get to the point.
Guys not even checked his tie is footed correctly 😀
I'm a girl, don't wear suits, don't have partner, why am I watching this ?
So it's not there for a quick grab to blow your nose?

try using a pin/ safety pin to keep your piece in place and all together
+Vincent Tooles large paper clips can be good depending on the fabric of your square
I put a rubberband around bot squares for my step sisters wedding and it worked out great lol
