  • The Stanford University Dish Hike is an iconic Bay Area hike in Stanford, California. This may be one of the Bay Area's best "bang for the buck" hikes as it is easily accessible, 100% paved, and has amazing views on a clear day. You can even see the downtown San Francisco skyline and the Bay Bridge in the distance. Parking is a real challenge and dogs are not allowed. Taking a ride share as cell service is available or parking on the Stanford campus and utilizing the entrance on that side are options.
With that said, this is a very popular hike. The hike can be done as a loop and is roughly 3.8 miles with 550 feet of elevation gain and took me roughly an hour and a half.
Difficulty 1 (easy) - 10 (hard): 3, there are definitely inclines and the distance is not short, but the trail is paved and the width makes it easier.
