Alan's VA (Kenshō Ono) and Dandes's VA (Daisuke Ono) are two of my favourites Japanese Voice Actors.
Kenshō Ono also give his voice to Giorno Giovanna (Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) and Yuya Sakaki (YGO Arc V)
Daisuke Ono is Jotaro in Jojo's too xd

Coming back to this episode 4 months later, I'm even sadder than I was back then, because for how disappointingly it was scripted, this battle looked AMAZING.
I absolutely love how Alain looks in the Journeys art style during this battle specifically; he just looks so cool and stoic in my opinion.
I love seeing the trainers with colored filters like when Chestnaught was pushed back by the Dynamax Energy and of course during the final clash
Chestnaught climbing Max Airstream with Gyro Ball is still the coolest and most creative thing in this fight
Again, I love Alain's edgy, exaggerated mannerisms when he throws his pokeball or yells out commands; he just looks awesome
All the pokemon look great; all the moves look great. Everything about the fight is pretty good EXCEPT for how weak it makes Alain look.
And this is really sad because this fight is as rushed as it is because the animators were clearly short on time and money, and yet they STILL managed to make something look this good!
That was such an underwelming battle I was at least hoping for an epic Mega Charizard vs G-max Charizard showdown
They wanted to prove Leon's Charizard doesn't need such mechanics to surpass Alain's Charizard

One of the worst episode in history. How can even alan qualified using this trash malamar chestnaught. Where are his bisharp and tyranitor. Tyranitor will be a great threat for lyons charizard. Because his recent move set is fire blast dragon pulse air slash flamethrower.
Just another excuse for the writers to get Alain defeated.
I agree. For his team, i personally think his charizard hard carried his other pokemons to qualify for the sake of plot and the writer

Bro they tried to show how strong leon is but forgot he had character. Instead it made people mad including me. Also since when have super effective moves matter if it's been show that electric can beat rock

The mega evolution energy was feeding team flare to activate the big stone or whatever it was, but it wasn't feeding his charizard lol, you're an idiot for calling out fictional character + not doing enough research

They really made this man weak just so Leon could win easily if would have used his strongest 3 pokemon I highly doubt Leon would have won. Honestly this version of Pokemon just keeps getting worse and worse
