Man I miss the 90s 🎵 I got to actually hang out with Faith No More at the Avalon Club in Boston in 92 before I knew Roddy was Gay and I'm pretty sure that's why a friend and I were able to hang w the band! But yes, a bit underrated. Also saw them at the Strand in Providence and when they opened for Metallica & GnR. I actually left before GnR FAxl, lol
@@sussychachi The record company used up the budget making the other videos and wouldn't shell out any more, so that video was purposefully made as cheap looking as possible within reason.
Faith No More rose to fame when 80s type rock was dying and grunge was rising. FNM sits perfectly in this transition. When "Epic" was released, FNM was seen as the new next thing. Then Nirvana happened, which put a cap on how high FNM could rise. In hindsight, they were more revolutionary than we previously thought which is why they remain so popular and have achieved a sort of cult status.
Land of sunshine guys. That shows patton off a ton. Faith no more is kinda like tool in a sense. For me I listen to all of the parts equally. But in land of sunshine he actually has a small part where he hits opera notes. It's incredible
And "Midlife Crisis". Just look for isolated vocals for this track on YT, check out what Patton does there. There's like five layers of voc at once sometimes!
Fun facts: Mike patton said about this video: "it's like perfume commercial". Warner's spent the video budget on the clips for 'Small Victory' and 'Midlife Crisis', so that when it came time to 'Everything's Ruined' there wasn't much left, that is why video for "Everything's Ruined" looked cheap. It was band's idea to take this further and make a video as cheap as humanly possible.
glad you accepted the challenge, look forward to the journey..add to the list Mike Pattons band Peeping Tom - Mojo ( Henry Rollins show live) .i think you guys will love it.
Mike Patton is still performing, and he's been creating movie soundtracks for more than 15 years now, too. It's not an exaggeration to say that he's a musical genius, even if he would probably laugh at that description. Then again, there's the argument that he might be a musical genius simply because he was never scared to take risks and just do the most bizarre things to make the right sound, or just a new sound. Maybe we would have a lot more geniuses if more people took risks and experimented instead of doing what their peers and predecessors tell them is the right or only way to do something?
Thank you my man requested this great song. Another song that showcases Patton is Faith no More's "Ashes to Ashes!" This is an Epic song by him. And it WILL BLOW your minds. The one thing that I can say. Mike Patton is his own kind of special. With his very own Epic flavor! I love his diversity. Thanks for a great video Reaction guys! 🤘😉🎶🔥🎶 Love those classic Bill & Ted movies awesome throwback guys! 😋
This was the last album that featured the guitarist Jim Martin. Who claimed to not understand the direction the band were taking and didn't like what they were doing this album but you have to give him props for still contributing some amazing and very important guitar work to what is my favourite FNM album.
Great song. Not something I would recommend to showcase his vocals, but still a great song to illustrate Faith No Mores ‘poppier’ side (yes, this is considered to be one of their more straightforward songs, believe it or not). If you want Faith No More songs to showcase his powerful belting vocals: Just a Man The Last to Know Star A.D Ashes to Ashes Last Cup of Sorrow If you want songs with more extreme vocals: Malpractice Jizzlobber Ugly in the Morning Cuckoo For Caca If you want songs where he switches up his voice a lot and leaves you surprised: Land of Sunshine Caffeine Smaller and Smaller Everything’s Ruined Crack Hitler The Gentle Art of Making Enemies If you just want great fucking songs where every member kills it: The Real Thing Falling to Pieces Kindergarten Evidence King For a Day Stripsearch Hope to see more FNM reactions. :-) PS. As far as how big FNM were... They were pretty underground in the mid 80s, but a lot of people from California knew them well. They gained worldwide popularity, especially in North America, South America, and Europe around 1989-1991 after their album The Real Thing and their hit song Epic was played on rotation on MTV for a number of months. They were definitely one of the biggest bands in America in 1989-1991, but after releasing Angel Dust, which was COMPLETELY different than The Real Thing and wasn’t ‘radio friendly’ at all at the time, their popularity lessened at least in the US... They still were popular overseas. By the mid-late 90s, they were borderline a cult band. They were never as popular as Metallica, Nirvana, RHCP, or even bands like Smashing Pumpkins or Pearl Jam, but they had their time in the spotlight. Anyway, FNM is more widely known and respected for being a ‘musicians band’. They influenced a shitload of late 90s and onwards bands and you can trace the creation of nu-metal in their album Angel Dust - for better or worse. Faith No More isn’t nu-metal, though... Far from it. You can’t box them into any genre, and even alternative metal doesn’t work but it’s the closest you can label them. Widely respected band from their peers, and an influential band, even though pop culture doesn’t recognize them as such.
Love this. I can do without the upcoming hair band reaction, but this is the only channel that I look forward to every day. Patton is great and influential still today.
Wowwwww - I used to listen to FNM a lot, some 20+ years ago, but forgot about this one. And then the music started and it came rushing in! Great choice! Rock on, guys! 🤘🤘🤘
Much better showcase of his voice. Faith No More was extremely well known when their album The Real Thing came out. You have probably heard “Epic” and just not known it was them. “Falling to Pieces” gives that hip hop vibe you mentioned.
Ok, for Mike Patton range, you should definitely listen to "Another Body Murdered" from the Judgement Night soundtrack. They pair with Boo-Yaa Tribe for the song and the creams in the song are Patton. RV, Malpractice, Easy, Last Cup of Sorrow are also all great vehicles for his voice. And then once you've done all that just dive headfirst into the whole Judgement Night album- it's absolute fire throughout.
If you really wanna see Mike's range you need to check out Faith No More, the Real Thing, that is probably the best display of his vocals you will get within Faith No More
What makes Patton great is his approach to vocals more so than any 1 defining moment. If you really think about how he sings words it’s quite odd yet he makes it sound good.
Just because he has 6 octaves+, he's more all about the art of the music. He doesn't aspire for notes, but the creation. If you want to hear it, check out "This Guy's in Love with You". And anything of him you can find live, even better. You won't be disappointed.
Some Mike Patton reccs: smaller and smaller - faith no more. a really great song for his higher range. the gentle art of making enemies - faith no more. shows off a lot of his diversity and singing styles. god hates a coward - tomahawk (live version). this song live is just a really cool performance. Edit: looking through these comments and I love how I see how everyone has a different song that they say is his best and it just shows how everyone has a different opinion of what his best moment is.
To me Mike Patton is one of the most versatile singers I've heard of but I admit, one needs a quite deep dive into their catalogue... Gotta be open-minded. Excellent displays of his vocal ability are 'I started a joke' 'Ashes to Ashes' and 'just a man'
Honestly, I didn't really thought much of Patton's singing until I saw them live in concert when they first reunited in 09. Blew my mind, became a fan, saw them 3 more times and tomahawk twice
There's quite a few more Mike Patton related bands you've got to listen to to get near anywhere near witnessing his range and being the man of a 1000 voices.
This video may have been super well produced but must have blown their budget in it, check out Everything’s Ruined from the album Angel dust and you will see what I mean.
I would also recommend Falling To Pieces, Edge of the World, and From Out of Nowhere. Those are from The Real Thing album. Zombie Eaters is another great one. Fsith No More is absolutely incredible, and it's Mike Patton's creativity and versatility that are his strongest points.
Saw Faith No More open for Metallica in the late 80/early 90s a couple times. In Sacramento CA, Hetfield came out and played 2nd guitar on War Pigs. Dope.
You want that "belting" moment? Try one of their newer songs, especially "Matador". At the crescendo of that song is one of Patton's biggest studio moments. It's. Fucking. Tasty.
Smokey is on the fence with Mike Patton? Smokey... Patton is a damn vocals GOD!!! One of my favourite lead singers of all time! The ranges that guy can hit AND sustain, almost unmatched!
For Mr. Bungle - there's a few really good ones on Disco Volante - 'Chemical Wedding' and 'Carry Stress in the Jaw' are both wild jazz metal fusions. I think with those as well you'll also get to hear Mike Patton go nuts, especially with all the scat and vocalize on Chemical Wedding.
Honestly, if you want to see Mike Patton belt it, you gotta go with their breakout hit "Epic". It's the song that got them into the mainstream spotlight.
the bungle video you were talking about was a "fan video", clips from movies edited together.... Bungle only has one video from their original 3 albums... and thats TRAVOLTA (aka Quote Unquote)
The thing is, in Goodbye Sober Day, you hear a tribe doing the Chakka part... All the voices you hear is Mike Patton. He over dubbed his vocals to get the sound of a group of people chanting, but it is all him.
If you want continuous vocal preformance from him either do: Falling to pieces, From out of nowhere, or The Real thing. Faith no more also had a track on the Bill and Ted's bogus journey soundtrack, perfect crime, great song.
In another vibe... Vanity Fair from Mr Bungle shows some cool range too... As do "We're not alone" from Peeping Tom. And I should also add his show with Rahzel from The Roots like this one : ua-cam.com/video/Swq67AkYxUE/v-deo.html
This album Angel Dust is gold from start to finish.
100%
Man I miss the 90s 🎵 I got to actually hang out with Faith No More at the Avalon Club in Boston in 92 before I knew Roddy was Gay and I'm pretty sure that's why a friend and I were able to hang w the band! It's the best album of all time, of any artist, imo.
This ab-lum is almost 30 years old now
YES...ONE OF THE BEST ALBUMS EVER...ITS MY FAVOURITE.a TRUE masterpiece
THE TRACK to do off this album is "Everything's Ruined"
One of the greatest music videos
IMO, Caffeine is the best song on a this GREAT album. Probably FNMs best.
A good amazing song my favorite song but the video is priceless and probably the cheapest compared to this video?:3
@@sussychachi The record company used up the budget making the other videos and wouldn't shell out any more, so that video was purposefully made as cheap looking as possible within reason.
Agreed 🤘🏻🔥
Mike Patton is without any doubt one of the best singers of all times

Faith No More's cover of the Bee Gees' "I Started a Joke" will show you far more of his range.
I came here to say this
100000%
Said the same.
Yup
Absolutely a vocal clinic.
Gotta do "The Real Thing" by Faith No More! Has a little of everything and definitely showcases some of his vocal abilities.
thats one of the top in that album
I love them! My first concert was GN´R, Soundgarden and Faith No More. The combination was so so good!
I saw FNM, Metallica & GNR back in??? 92 I stayed for FNM and Metallica, lol
Fucking same 😂😂😂 faith no n soundgarden was better than guns n roses 😂
Land of sunshine guys. That shows patton off a ton. Faith no more is kinda like tool in a sense. For me I listen to all of the parts equally. But in land of sunshine he actually has a small part where he hits opera notes. It's incredible
Agreed. Land of Sunshine is the perfect representation of Faith No More’s sound in this era
YES
And "Midlife Crisis". Just look for isolated vocals for this track on YT, check out what Patton does there. There's like five layers of voc at once sometimes!
Land of Sunshine is phenomenal!
Stripsearch & Just A Man are great songs with a long of range exposition
I'm a 46 year old dad and that guitar riff near end had my head bobbin.
Adding "King for a Day," "Smaller and Smaller," and "Helpless" to the FNM rec list.
Yes! Smaller & Smaller one of the best FNM songs Ever in my HO
Smaller and smaller!💜
Fun facts: Mike patton said about this video: "it's like perfume commercial".

Thanks for that info, dude, I never knew this. Knowing their sense of humor I'm not surprised they took it further. :)
If you haven’t already, you need to hear them do Easy by the Commodores.
Yes I like the FNM version better than the original.
Honestly, my fave Faith no More song.
"This guy's in love with you" and "I started a joke" great belting voices
Thanks for "This Guy's..."!
glad you accepted the challenge, look forward to the journey..add to the list Mike Pattons band Peeping Tom - Mojo ( Henry Rollins show live) .i think you guys will love it.
Everythings Runied from this album is amazing. In fact the whole album is amazing.
This song finds the replay switch in your head an a hour later you've listened too the song 9times in a row....
Another band that Mike Patton is in is Tomahawk, and you'll definitely hear the range there. Mayday or the live version of God Hates a Coward. 🔥
Tomahawk is interesting. I saw them years ago when they opened for Tool during the Lateralus tour. I like where their coming from.
those aren't songs that showcase his range for what these guys are looking for
Faith No More - Separation Anxiety - LIVE BBC Radio 1. That's from the newest album, not so popular as the classics but shows some pretty range
Patton can belt it out like no other as a unique singer!
Saw these guys several times in the 90’s. They just floored me with their performances . Some of the most fun I’ve had at a concert .
My favorite tune by these guys

...I highly recommend "Faith No More - Superhero, in session for the Radio 1 Rock Show", if it isn't already on the gentlemans list :P
It was a fantastic jam session, all three tunes they do is fantastic.
I think I've played this song on my drums a thousand times. Great song!
You have to take the vocals as a whole. All the songs together show his range.
Mike Patton has a full opera and various song’s in a mondo concert you can find or I can send link.
Yeah man he sings Italian opera for real lol. It's pretty awesome too.
Thank you my man requested this great song. Another song that showcases Patton is Faith no More's "Ashes to Ashes!" This is an Epic song by him. And it WILL BLOW your minds. If you want Faith No More songs to showcase his powerful belting vocals:
Just a Man
The Last to Know
Star A.D
Ashes to Ashes
Last Cup of Sorrow
If you want songs with more extreme vocals:
Malpractice
Jizzlobber
Ugly in the Morning
Cuckoo For Caca
If you want songs where he switches up his voice a lot and leaves you surprised:
Land of Sunshine
Caffeine
Smaller and Smaller
Everything’s Ruined
Crack Hitler
The Gentle Art of Making Enemies
If you just want great fucking songs where every member kills it:
The Real Thing
Falling to Pieces
Kindergarten
Evidence
King For a Day
Stripsearch
Hope to see more FNM reactions. :-)

Angel dust = gold .... Start to finish...masterpiece!
Guys!!! Everything off of Faith No More's album Angel Dust is f'n insane. Check out Easy Like Sunday Morning and you will be blown away!
Wowwwww - I used to listen to FNM a lot, some 20+ years ago, but forgot about this one. And then the music started and it came rushing in! Great choice! Rock on, guys! 🤘🤘🤘
You guys need to hit up this entire album “Angeldust”. Every song is epic like this.
Much better showcase of his voice. Faith No More was extremely well known when their album The Real Thing came out. You have probably heard “Epic” and just not known it was them. “Falling to Pieces” gives that hip hop vibe you mentioned.
Gotta do EVIDENCE at some point.
What about "Last Cup of Sorrow"?... ;)
King For A Day ! Is SIIIIICK!
I saw faith no more with metallica and guns and roses at Rich stadium. Faith no more was awesome
I saw the Toronto show! 4th row. Great great show!
PARKWAY DRIVE - VICE GRIP OR BOTTOM FEEDER OR WISHING WELLS OR CRUSHED OR THE VOID OR PREY OR SHADOW BOXING
I saw them live when this record came out in 1993, Patton blows it up on the stage vocally,
Ok, for Mike Patton range, you should definitely listen to "Another Body Murdered" from the Judgement Night soundtrack. Hey lads check out The World is Yours Patton’s vocal range on that track is pretty amazing
Digging the Grave or Gentle Art of Making Enemies from King for a Day or Collision from Album of the Year for blowing up Patton´s vocals.
^This!
Check out "I Started A Joke" by Faith No More. Mike Patton hits some serious notes on that one.
I know the feeling it is the real thing
If you really wanna see Mike's range you need to check out Faith No More, the Real Thing, that is probably the best display of his vocals you will get within Faith No More
Mondo Cane probably is some of Mike's best range.
If you want to hear Patton belt out some vocals listen to Faith No More's Star A.D.
this is my favourite FNM song of all time.
What makes Patton great is his approach to vocals more so than any 1 defining moment. If you really think about how he sings words it’s quite odd yet he makes it sound good.

Stripsearch is by far their best song for Mike's vocals IMO.
Stripseaaaaaaarch 🤘🤘🤘🤘
One of the best song FNM has
Patton is also an incredible lyricists.
I love this song
one of their most "polished" music videos! love the song!
To me Mike Patton is one of the most versatile singers I've heard of but I admit, one needs a quite deep dive into their catalogue... Gotta be open-minded.
Excellent displays of his vocal ability are 'I started a joke' 'Ashes to Ashes' and 'just a man'

"Surprise! You're Dead" & "Zombie Eaters" are great songs.
Faith No More - Zombie Eaters
There's quite a few more Mike Patton related bands you've got to listen to to get near anywhere near witnessing his range and being the man of a 1000 voices.
This video may have been super well produced but must have blown their budget in it, check out Everything’s Ruined from the album Angel dust and you will see what I mean.
I listen to Faith No More anytime!! I'm all fire up and echo in Grand Canyon... Lol 😆
You need to listen to Jislobber on Angel Dust. The vocal range is incredible
I would also recommend Falling To Pieces, Edge of the World, and From Out of Nowhere. Those are from The Real Thing album. Zombie Eaters is another great one. Fsith No More is absolutely incredible, and it's Mike Patton's creativity and versatility that are his strongest points.
FNM was always underrated! Try some from the Chuck Mosley years, prior to Paton. Annies song, the crab song.... etc!
Chuck (RIP) was also great in his own way. Definitely a different kind of vocalist but I also loved that FNM era.
Have y'all done "Easy" Commordores cover?......Great cover
Ashes to Ashes should be on your list sometime.
Saw Faith No More open for Metallica in the late 80/early 90s a couple times. In Sacramento CA, Hetfield came out and played 2nd guitar on War Pigs. Dope.
Faith No More is one of the best bands ever.
Check out his cover of deep deep down, sung in Italian & accompanied by a full orchestra
Faith No More's "This Guy's in Love with You" is a great showcase of Patton's vocals. He really belts it out during the chorus.
You want that "belting" moment? Try one of their newer songs, especially "Matador". At the crescendo of that song is one of Patton's biggest studio moments. It's. Fucking. Tasty.
You should hear their cover of “easy” from the Commodores! Vocals are great on that track!
You gotta listen to Faith no Mores version of Easy by the Commodores. It’s freaking pure manikin!
Smokey is on the fence with Mike Patton? Smokey... Patton is a damn vocals GOD!!! One of my favourite lead singers of all time! The ranges that guy can hit AND sustain, almost unmatched!
Ashes to Ashes live at Pinkpop, DO IT!
I saw them back in 2011, Bs As Argentina. One of the best concert I've ever been, Mike is perfection!
Do tomahawk - god hates a coward live. Awesome song by another Mike Patton band.
Watch the live cover of 'This Guy’s in Love With You' by Herb Alpert & The Tijuana Brass at the BBC. Patton's vocals are amazing!
Faith No More - "Evidence"
Pepping Tom - We're not alone would be nice to react
^THIS!
such a great Album..Jizzlobber is my personal favorite!
Also "The Gentle Art of Making Enemies". You need to hear that.
the bungle video you were talking about was a "fan video", clips from movies edited together.... Bungle only has one video from their original 3 albums... and thats TRAVOLTA (aka Quote Unquote)
Angel Dust .possibly my fav album ever.it is a masterpiece.
Went to concert in football stadium, they opened for Guns and Rose's and Metallica.....AWESOME SHOW
Patton also featured on a cd called Irony is a Dead Scene with Dillinger Escape Plan; "When Good Dogs Do Bad Things" is a must-hear.
A song that really showcases Patton's vocal range is Caffeine.
In another vibe... Vanity Fair from Mr Bungle shows some cool range too... As do "We're not alone" from Peeping Tom. And I should also add his show with Rahzel from The Roots like this one : ua-cam.com/video/Swq67AkYxUE/v-deo.html
One of the most underrated bands of all time...
Faith no more - The real thing
You guys NEED to hear this one.
Best. Song. Ever..♡
