- A professional snowboarder that split boards for a living, specializing in human powered snowboarding with first descents to his name in Bolivia, India and USA. We talk east coast roots, risk management, micro and macro dosing, winter camping hacks, mountain pooping, volcano shredding, mountain vibes, post traumatic stoke disorder, Petran Boarding, the future of snowboarding and so much more. After years of contests and pursuing his dream to be a top pro and make a living snowboarding Nick realized maybe he was just not as good as some of the top level rider’s and thats when he took a different approach trying out split boarding. It turned out he had a real stylish powder turn and with split boarding blowing up brands needed pro’s to represent this category. Everything came together with Nick carving out his own lane snowboarding how he wanted to allowing him to break the norm and go pro in his thirty’s. Join us as we sit down with Nick and learn how a kid from the flat state of Connecticut became a pro snowboarder specializing in split boarding his way to never before ridden line’s and snowboarding in unimaginable destinations like Antarctica, Bolivia, Turkey, India and more all on this week’s episode of The Bomb Hole.

Absolutely loved this chance to hear (up and close) with Nick Russell, whom I got to know a little about threw the Fifty with Cody Townsend....love how it brought a snowboarder together with a powerhouse skier like Cody!!! Kudos for reaching out to Nick and getting him on your show....Just newly subscribed and hope to go back and view other guests !!! ON a personal note I want to convey my condolences to Nick for the loss of his good friend Hillary Nelson, (he is right about grief and how fucked up it can be...hits you at the strangest of times)... High risk is part of the equation, and unfortunately 2 boys dont have their mother to enjoy!!! I hope that your able to spend some time with these boys in the mtns....it would be a nice opportunity if the circumstances ever cross paths!!! The Patagonia donation is actually tax evasion, which becomes clear when you look at who is running the organization the shares where donated to. Nick seems like a really nice guy, and maybe he doesn’t know about that, but those type of donations are the oldest trick in the book for billionaires to evade taxes…
