No BS fishing at its finest. This guy, unlike a lot of tournament fishermen, is actually showing himself working it and not just smashing them. I like this more honest demonstration of technique as it shows more novice anglers the process of working the area and how. More videos need to be like this. Honest an accurate representations of the job getting done.
very interesting - he looks for similar patterns / signs as we do down here in Brazil for Peacock Bass in high water levels. When they are still hidden in the flooded forest. great video!
wow, the color works. I tried a 1/2 oz Terminator Pro Jig in Blu/blkpurple with a zoom blue sapphire trailer, 12lb flouro. and caught three, one 7 lbs. Thanks!
In my opinion: when flipping a jig, I wouldn't go anything lighter than 17 pound test. Try bumping up line size and get in the heavy stuff for big results.
ugh that little flip cast is killin it gotta get better at skippin em in like that. Already been using the jigs and brush hogs but damn that casting was straight up inspirational lol.
Really appreciate a video like this because he shows how he fishes and what he's using instead of just showing catching the fish. Only suggestion I would make is not have the music in the background. There's no accounting for taste in music. I sure don't hear heavy metal in the background when I'm fishing. Still very cool to see how he goes about it. Thanks
Trimming that skirt is personal preference. A lot of guys do it cause it gives them confidence since theyve altered their baits. Muddy water fish aint really taking time to pick apart your bait. In clear water a short sparse skirt might get ya bit more but skirt length in high muddy water doesnt matter much.
@stoufferd2 trimming the skirt allows the skirt strands to flare more (more movement), it also prevents the skirt strands from impeding the trailer's movement.
In regards to all the comments about setting the hook: 1) a fishes lip is not the softest thing in the world, don't let anyone fool you otherwise. This isn't a pan fish. 2) they are flipping heavy root systems, the heavier you set and get them moving towards the boat the less likely they are to lose the fish. 3) which also relates to points one and two... they are using a heavy wire hook to penetrate a fishes tough mouth as well as prevent the hook from bending out and losing a fish. This type of fishing takes heavy equipment and isn't your grandpa's bobber fishing. Yes they set the hook hard, but once you've experienced it yourself then you can understand why. They don't ALWAYS set the hook like this, but they do in the scenarios they need to, like this video.
what about muddy water in the January feb with 50 to 60 degree weather would it be a good idea to go and flip like this I'm in arizona and lake bartlett plz tell me.
also i told my dad we should try but he says the fish are deep 300 feet and says dont bother going in the river so i dont know if i should try i am pre fishing for a tournament
I know this is his way of flipping flooded stuff but if your not getting bite a lot and your flipping cover fast I would slow down and shake it in the bush way longer. At the same time I would only flip the bush once on both sides because 95% of the time if one is in there he is the king of that bush and will eat it on the first flip. Just a tip if your new to flipping heavy cover.
Why not work a spot longer? It seemed like you would cast and almost as soon as it hit bottom you would reel it in. Like the willow tree, you talk about how great they can be but only spent about 15 seconds fishing it. Just in a hurry to cover more water or are you pretty confident that if they aren't hitting it on the fall or the first few twitches then they aren't there?
danny villa spinner baits are great choice for muddy water. I use them a lot and they're one of my favorites. Black and blue or black and red are my favorites
I find that you catch more fish if your off the bank about 20 ft and cast to buck brush in these conditions with a rattle trap and or chatterbaits. Caught 18.93 pounds last week doing that
Bass fishing I believe is the world's greatest joy. Join me as we go in depth about this magnificent creature. Check out my youtube fishing channel and subscribe to my youtube channel for more fishing videos. Thank You
I dont understand why you would want a silent entrance in muddy water like this? I'm very amateur at bass fishing but I would think the splash would get their attention as what I have the most luck with is a chatter bait in flooded muddy water.
Awesome video! Keep up the great work. If you get a chance, please check out the debut episode of Bass Commander (Oklahoma Bass Fishing): Bass Commander - Episode 1 - Missin' Em at Quanah Parker Lake
I think most of the stuff he says don't matter much. I use baby d bomb and still catch them in dirty water but with a dark color. Bass are also very shallow when its dirty. I bank fish and i catch them right in front of me.
I don't understand why these pros have to set the hook like they're hooked into a fuckin blue marlin... When most of the time it's not even a 2lb bass...
Gotta get that big hook in past the barb. Also with a Texas rig that hook isn't exposed. You have to "snap" it out much like someone who ties line to a loose tooth to a door and slams it on a semi slacked line. Why not set the hook hard??? This guy isn't even jerking hard really.
television. with bass I get it though with certain techniques and bass. These kids who learn how to fish from tv and videos are out there ripping holes in mouths of walleye, crappie, etc because they think it's correct. 80% of the time these fish like walleye and crappie hook set themselves, no need to yank like you are fishing the bassmaster classic with a camera crew in their boat

When I first saw title all I could think was. "I love fishing high." Hahaha
these are some serious serious casting skills!

i love paca chunk in potomac blue..OMG...good video thanks...i dont know how you pitch skip like that but it is awesome to watch...lol...
ugh that little flip cast is killin it gotta get better at skippin em in like that. Already been using the jigs and brush hogs but damn that casting was straight up inspirational lol.
Nice video!! And nice fish!!
Talk less fish more
3:26 That's some serious bass thumb!

Yes, For muddy water Colorado blades will give off more vibration so it's best to use those, willow blades for clear

Great video !!
Good video. Thanks
Does anything think the jig skirt trimming goes for non muddy other colors as well ?
GREAT Video Any Chance We Can See Part 2?
Those are some working hands!!!

Some people just always have something to say. I do agree with you.
8:01 that was a nice cast.. I kinda knew you'd get hit on that one lol, I'm sure you did too
what about muddy water in the January feb with 50 to 60 degree weather would it be a good idea to go and flip like this I'm in arizona and lake bartlett plz tell me.
did anyone else see all those gosh dang turtles sitting on the log at 9:00!!
forgive me for asking what probably is a stupid question but what is a creek arm and how's that different from a cove or a creek or a cove in a creek?
also i told my dad we should try but he says the fish are deep 300 feet and says dont bother going in the river so i dont know if i should try i am pre fishing for a tournament
Nice man.
he set the hook like it going to just fall of the line
how tha fuck this guy can throw into this brush and not get caught up, when i throw into brush its game over
up1nsm0ke420 I swear to god
up1nsm0ke420 hell if i throw out in the open i still end up getting caught lol
because he's using 20lb line, hope that helps.
do americans do any coarse fishing,i only ever see lure fishing
I would even keep it full to move more water and create a bigger presence in the water

Is watermelon colors lures good in muddy waters?
I would not worry too much about splash because then there would be no news of bass being caught on lures like topwaters, rattle baits and buzz baits

Michael Fritz thought the same thing
Will spinner bait work in muddy water please answer. :)

I fish the same way man, you gotta slow down and you'll get bit a lot more.

14:12, that was awesome
superfree for life!
Hi muddy water = 1/2 black jig loud rattle and a zoom black big chunk......

9:57 dont use ewg hooks kids.
He was using a jig
Dmgolfer22 my mistake
I think your setting the hook to hard man lol your killing the bass lmao😄😂
Gd vid bt talk about strike at the fish
Awesome video! Keep up the great work. If you get a chance, please check out the debut episode of Bass Commander (Oklahoma Bass Fishing): Bass Commander - Episode 1 - Missin' Em at Quanah Parker Lake
you should work it up and down at least 3 times
I think most of the stuff he says don't matter much. I use baby d bomb and still catch them in dirty water but with a dark color. Bass are also very shallow when its dirty. I bank fish and i catch them right in front of me.
+visualkeirockstar I think most of the stuff he says DOES matter, because I fish from a boat and it's a totally different ball game.
NetBait MadPaca > Zoom Brush Hog
if you're so good, where's your sponsor
I don't trim my jigs and I still catch pigs lol
Good info. Music is terrible though.
i was watching this then i got bored and thought nobody got time for that
corny ads 1992 video game music
i don't think he knows what flipping is...
he has no patience for his bait to sink in. Everything else is fine.
I don't understand why these pros have to set the hook like they're hooked into a fuckin blue marlin... When most of the time it's not even a 2lb bass...

Do not hit the bass tail or you will spook it
Why do these fishermen feel the need to yank as hard as they can when they hook up .
Will Vidallon its called setting the hook
because u can't stop me

Probably so they don't swallow the lure... Look it up.😑
No one cares jacob viper
