Welcome back to the maids!!. This jazz groovy rock song is a jewel. In the live performance the voices really showcases but the songwriting... man, chef kiss. BTW, Miku plays lead the second verse.
A lot of people miss that it’s actually Miku doing the cool, ambient note bends in the 2nd verse! She really had developed into someone who can play with nuance and flair!💪🏻🤘🏻
Miku was doing the"quirky" thing ( 3:51 sneaky Miku on her guitar..lol and most "mini" parts on any of their songs Kanami will entrust Miku doing that....🤭) while Kanami just riff along the way ( can't stop her..lol..)😉.. 3:31 since you mentioned on that😉..well can distinguish the guitars tone between those two Maids..
Great to see you back with Band-Maid! I was just re-watching your "Unseen World" album reaction so that's a bit of a coincidence. I love this song. They make even ballads (in my experience typically the realm of sappy and predictable music and songwriting) interesting.
You'll find as you listen to more band-maid songs that Misa the bass player and Kaname the lead guitar are constantly freestyling throughout the songs and playing off each other.
Thanks for the usual great commentary! I feel like Wonderland is one of Kanami's first experiments with techniques that carry forward to UW: the weird chromaticisms (like in Miku's line), the interesting transitions, the build-up of tension, and release at the end. Can't wait for more from WD or UW!
Wonderland -- another great progy, jazz rocker with touches of funky elegance wrap around a mid-tempo, storytelling, mid-tempo, epic soundscape. In other words, Band-Maid doing Band-Maid things! 😊
True. It's Saiki;s song, but what the girls are doing behind her is a looooot more complex than it appears. It's my favorite band maid song. Even though Unseen world is my favorite album. Go figure lol.
Great to see you back with Band Maid. 'Wonderland' is a great song, you think it is all about Saiki and of course it does showcase her but as you pointed out there is plenty going on in the background. looking forward to more Band Maid reactions. Take care.
People usually focus on "what's going on in the background" when it comes to band-maid. Saiki isn't a "Look at me, just me" type of singer. She lets others shine, while she's often overlooked partly because of it. She has the voice that's pity not to showcase. This is still Saiki song as much as a Bandmaid song. Love this song including the instrumentation.
When Saiki sings, she sounds as if the lyrics were also her own, especially in ballads. Her mind is in sync with Miku's lyrics. As for harmonisation, in Manners, Miku and Saiki do the complete opposite to this. Miku sings high and Saiki sings octave lower. Their vocal tones are very different that changes the vibe of a song by just swapping the register.

Welcome Back *Temporal72* to the *BAND-MAID* Universe and Yes I never notice *MISA* and *Kanami* back and forth play in the song arigato 😊

This time it is mainly Saiki's song, so no long Solos. It is the song of the voice. And sh.e is stunning

Yes miku sometimes does a VERY low voice when it calls for it :)

Thanks T72!
Glad you're back on the BAND-MAID bandwagon. Wonder if you will be doing any more album reactions or go one by one.
It's been a while since you last reacted to band maid's song, right? good to see you back.
It's common to say that this is a Misa or Saiki song ... but I would add the dynamics of Akane's drums ... she just changes the whole vibe ...
Saiki: Voice of an angel - absolutely stunning! With Miku together unbeatable. Kanami also has a great voice. What a treasure of talents ...
Nice to have you back. Glad your safe and hope you straightened your government out, they ALL suck......but I digress.
Jinjer and Baby Metal need to do a world tour, named "We brought these three guys along".
Disclaimer ** (Eugene and Vlad are two of the top respective musicians in the craft in the world: Roman plays the best riffs out there)
