I have a hybrid Setup: I have tasks/ideas/stuff on apps (today I'm trying RemNote, it's nice), but when I need to put my thoughts in order, or develop ideas, I first go to pen and paper. Once I have a clear idea of what I have to do, or to remember, I transcribe that to the app.
Also, I keep a small notebook on my backpack in case I get struck with the creativity thunder, then I commit to transcribe them into the app.
Every once in a while, I pick an idea/question/stuff on the app and go to pen and paper to develop it, then back again to the app.

This is awesome! I love that you mentioned the daily highlight! I am reading the book right now - Make Time - where the idea is introduced and really recommend it. They discuss how the business of everyday life makes us lose sight of our short term happiness and we are caught in-between the daily mundane and long-term vision. They touch on the fact that being more intentional is key in having a deeper life, punctuated by something pleasurable/important everyday - the daily highlight. In a way we almost alter our perception of time as we create more memories that are different :) For low-maintenance apps for productivity and deepening our connection to everyday joys I actually recently made a quick video of some unusual apps, if anyone is curious to add a little magic in their every day life :)!

damn this book keeps reappearing everywhere lmao this my sign to get it (does getting it count as daily highlight lol)

@@Jerry-jh2yn My daily highlights depend on my energy and mood levels, sometimes just getting a book and buying a coffee on a rainy day makes me feel complete :) (even if it’s another book added to my bookshelf of unread book LOL)

It's an excellent idea! From my experience - a paper notepad/planner is much more useful and makes me more productive than ANY productivity app. I mean any! And I've used all of them :)

I'm using todoist to manage tasks, but since I can't live without a weekly view, I sync it with google calendar so I can see my whole week all at once. When it comes to projects I use my note-taking app of choice which is obsidian, i usually have a main page where I jot down some to-dos, resources and notes. If I fell like i have too much stuff in that file, I'll generally move my notes into a separate file and link it together.
Sometimes I think about planning with only pen and paper, but i love that with apps you can just quickly jot down any task, thought or idea anywhere you are and you don't even need to leave the room (or sit down for a slightly better handwriting)

Ahh yes you hit "Things overload". I did the same, planning *waaaay* to much and getting overwhelmed. Now I limit my use of Things to tasks I need to do in the next two weeks only. Everything long term goes in a physical notebook (and a note in Apple Notes) and every now and then I go over it and see if I still actually want/need to do that stuff. I know this is what Someday is for in Things but I found such a huge list of items in Somebody was kind of stressful. Keeping those out of Things entirely is better for me. I also don't use Things to track every little item in my projects instead I use my notebook to break everything down. Usually if a task takes more than half an hour I will pop it in Things but nothing less.

Planning and literally writing it down on paper takes a lot of time but it also helps you set realistic goals. I also like using post it notes to write down tasks so I can see them on my wall. I enjoyed this video, Harshibar! Thanks for sharing!

I use the same notebook as my planner!
I've always enjoyed physical planners more than digital apps - I get too distracted when I'm using my phone to track tasks

That's interesting. I think there's the right tool for each person and each situation. For many years I tried to plan everything on paper, but it never worked to me. The biggest problem was that I forgot to write the tasks/plans/schedule on my notebooks! Usually I remember things I must do while I'm bathing, doing my grocery shopping, busy at work, and so on. By the time I finish a bath, shopping or a task, I've already forgotten what I should write. What leads me to waste time. Now I have an app on my mobile that syncs with my desktop and laptop. That works because my mobile is always with me (even when I'm bathing lol).

I have been using the Bujo since January of this year and I think it really has helped me with long term planning and it has taught me so much about how I think. There is a slight learning curve, and it can be overwhelming at first but now i know that making simple approachable spreads has rlly helped me get back into it if i am in a funk!

Great video! I've just recently switched to a physical notebook (divided in half for work and personal) as a "brain dump" for when I'm working. I was finding that when I'd open to Notion to add a personal to-do, I'd end up checking personal emails, Instagram, etc, instead of just adding the to-do so I'm trying to remove that step and go analog (at least while on company time!) :)

Good Question! I think I started out with my physical planner but I kept losing it 🙊. So instead I started using a digital planner. I actually got notion after I watched your video on it! It’s helping me manage the disparate parts of my life like Uni (which I start in the fall), my channel, and the organization that I work with that helps students (IBlieve)!

The original Bullet Journal method by Ryder Carroll truly is the real deal. It's simple and effective. Sadly it doesn't work for my ADHD (even though the creator has it, too) because I get lost in all the possibilities. Knowing me I will cycle back to it someday.

I have a genuine question for you.
How do you manage to keep organised with your data scattered across multiple note taking apps?
Do you ever forget which app contains which piece of information?

Hi.. It feels like you went inside a "time machine" and went back to early 1900-1930's using Analogs . LOL 😁 . On a serious note, even one of the most successfull "Sundar Pichai" must have used Analog when he was studying.. I feel the less APPs you use, the more productive you are. Many gets lost in the digital world. Its always good to experiement.
