Thanks for great content & great feedback on questions they've helped me a ton. I haven't been able to get hold of distilled water in Denmark (where i live) but deionized/demineralized water is no issue. EKWB had almost convinced that distilled water is the only way to go with their EK-CryoFuel concentrate. Now I can build my first custom loop with peace in mind. Thanks a bunch :-D
No, just no, vinegar and hot water, and shake it hard and repeat 2-3 times to get the soldering flux out it, and then flush with water a few times afterwards and then it is clean and ready for use. I used his method the first time i cleaned a radiator and i got pink clear tubes after a month... So save yourselves the headache and do it right the first time.
His method works too, but it is has a higher risk of mishaps. And everyone on the watercooling forums seems to be under the understanding the hot water with a bit of vinegar is the best way of clearing the inside of a copper radiator. When you use the vinegar it eats abit of the inside of the radiator and removes the corrosion on the inside of the copper radiators, i have tried it with 4 different radiators and the first time the water comes out it has a blueish tint to it aka the corrosion, and distilled water is not doing anything to remove that. So depending on how good corrosion preventing coolant you use, then you'll likely see a strange reaction at some point when/if it goes bad, so it is important to clean the radiators right the first time and not have to redo a water loop as it went wrong.
+BearM304 if you do it ptoperly with water you dont really need to add the vinegar but of course that is always an option as well. All that is needed is a good shake a few times 2-3 like you said and it will be fine. The forums do state in places vinegar is best (which it is) but water will do the same job
+dit bol there have also been a few issues people have had with using the vinegar that i have found on forums so i tend to stick with water as the flux these days is now normally water based as well
Hey IFR is deminerilised water ok instead of distilled water? Distilled seems to be harder to get in Australia. Well in Tassie anyway? Cheers mate have everything ready now for my own custom loop!
+GingerSquatch i have been waiting to see if it has any issues before i get it. People have had their loops cleaned and people have had bad things happen
So then your finding the same reports on the fluid that I have found. The fluid has been in development for some time now, I hope that Primochill is able to get everything worked out and the Vue to be a very stable fluid!
Hey I have been using an orange thermaltek coolant and now my loop has stopped pumping water. Is it my pump or is it my radiator? And if my radiator how do I remove the blockage?
+Farhaz Ahmed hi, i dont think the coolant would do that but anything is possible. You may need to drain the system first and use some water to see if its the pump or not
I ve been having this problem for a few weeks now, once I leaned my pc forward and the liquid from one of the tube connected to the radiator drained into the pump, leaving the tube empty.
Please someone, even Jay, help end a debate. My friend says he does not consider AIO water cooling. He considers water cooling to have a res will full loop, and nothing less. It blew my mind that just liquid cooling a cpu wasn’t considered water cooling to him.
Designs By IFR I'm a little more concerned about the Quality the Distilled Water... does it have to be Laboratory/Industrial Clean Grade or simply Store-Bought would be Sufficient. (Head Scratching...)
I did it the exact way and it doesn't stop to come out... Also AlphaCool but NexXxos Monsta... I flushed 10 liters distilled water through 2 of those. Still small particles appearing. I think you can't be helped... I have filters in the loop but they aren't very fine... Fingers crossed.
The radiator is brand new? it's rusty out of the box man and there are signs that it has been used before. Even the boxes look used and as if they have been sitting around for a long time. .Did they send you a used one.
man i am so sorry but the first thing i notice is the finger prints all over that case in background lol
+Dan Barber hahahaha
other than that, looks awesome!!!!
+Dan Barber =)
so did I lol
Same here lll
For future reference, the shit that comes out is typically flux and popped solder from assembling the pipes.
Is flushing a brand new radiator with just destiled water enough? Should I use vinegar and baking soda?
Yeah I don't really get this
Do you also recommend using a filter? I am thinking this might help in filtering out those things.
You're ballsy doing all that on top of your computer desk. I spill everything always.
+DIY Tech haha i spilt a small drip but it aint going to get through my glass =)

+Frederik K you are very welcome
Another good video thanks man! Good taste too, I got an alphacool myself after a lot of research.
+3DVision Gamer very welcome man =)

+dit bol hahaha geah thats pretty bad
Do not use straight water, you will get corrosion. If you are going to use water or anything else, you MUST flush with Distilled water at a minimum.
Can I use distilled water instead of using that C 1000 coolant?
this is late but distilled water with biocide and anticorrosive additives to distilled will work, yes
Dude, thank you so much !! i was planning to watercooled my pc this coming dec. Thanks again !! anyway can i use tap water?
+Monferaigne hey man no problem. I wouldnt use tap water, u may get stuff growing in your system
Designs By IFR duly noted bro! More power to you!
I've done this 10 times now for one of my radiators. Black particles keep coming out. Does it ever stop?
How many times u did?
Interesting
I legit flinched when I seen he was doing this over a desk pc
+THE MOUNTAIN , Hahaha i got ballz
Hey IFR is deminerilised water ok instead of distilled water? Distilled seems to be harder to get in Australia. Well in Tassie anyway? Cheers mate have everything ready now for my own custom loop!
+Sent2Strike yeah distilled was a pain to find but coles now sells it in their cleaning isle. Demineralised is fine to use however
why is it zo hard to find in australia ?
here we have it with montains in every shop store :p
Comparing to my radiator, your was pretty clean.
I’m wanting to buy a water cooled pc and don’t want to do to much maintenance would you recommend one .
Is It necessary to wash it if Im just gonna Use 3 fans on 360 radiator? Not going For a loop just radiator and fans on it
nice i think it flux for soldering and can i use a hot water 70 dgr
+Faissal zin yeah hot water is good too
thank you
What is you opinion on the new Primochill Vue fluid?
+GingerSquatch i have been waiting to see if it has any issues before i get it. People have had their loops cleaned and people have had bad things happen

Looks like they are bits from the threading process, seems to be a bit of copper and maybe some solder; though solder is unlikely....
+Paul Bialozor yeah solder flux/paint/copper etc
Hi! i just start using water cooling system, so may i know that do u use normal water or something else to clean radiator?
+Wenli Lai i use distilled water
ok thanks
Nice video. It was helpful for me.
+yale mullins thank you very much
Yeah, EK says that they are ready for use but, always flushing them out is a good idea.
+Black Phillip yeah exactly =)
Where did you buy the table

before you make a custom build, do you make a 3d model first?
+Yannick R. Some times i might but usually no i dont
How do you get the hoses off tho
Hi hello. what's water you use guys? thanks
+Alvo Alo distilled water or demineralised
Is there any company that you recommend buying liquid cooling components from?
+Marcus Hesketh man all of them have their pros and cons. I personally like bitspower fittings but like ek's waterblocks
+Marcus Hesketh i like alphacools pumps and rads
Helpful tips, keep it up
+The Rambling Brit thanks man

Its water cooling but it sparks snother question of its its considered "custom" water cooling
It doesn't hurt to add an in-line filter with a mesh screen to the loop.
Thanks but thought there be more but worth the trouble - less to clog the pump -- Also First 65 or Older
+Gerard Dresch yeah definatly dont want that in the system
Only need to radiator ? or all component ?
Radiator
#Question
*Will store-bought Distill (Drinking) Water be good enough for cleaning...???*
+Gabriel Swee you can use normal water but then id reccomend a rinse with distilled water
Designs By IFR
I'm a little more concerned about the Quality the Distilled Water... does it have to be Laboratory/Industrial Clean Grade or simply Store-Bought would be Sufficient. (Head Scratching...)
+Gabriel Swee stpre bought is fine
Designs By IFR
Thank you.
The tiny black gunk is resedue from welding the radiators in the factory.
How is it going so far? I'm having the same problem I've been flushing it for about 6hours now and there are still small particles coming out.
Anyone know when you should change your water in your liquid cooler pls
If you use inhibitor and corosion solution you can change every year or two...but recommend every year...
thanks will do!
+iamdmc =)
i had radiator witout fan for 2 months
+Jugz the donut oh wow
Great :)
+Jannis G (Coolerj.8) thanks man
Why the balls do you live in kangaroo land?! How am I able to buy you a beer now?!
+P - The P is Silent hahahaha, yeah its so hot here
Jesus were you eating cheeseburgers and fries off that tempered glass on the case?
Of course, theres no other way to do it, what a silly question
Live near the ocean? Air must be humid with that rust on the fins hehe
It’s not rust, they use copper for the fins and don’t heavily paint over them cause they wont release heat as well
The radiator is brand new? it's rusty out of the box man and there are signs that it has been used before. Even the boxes look used and as if they have been sitting around for a long time. .Did they send you a used one.
+Al D na its not rusty at all, it has been sitting theree in its box
Put a shirt on dude!
Lol
Was here
Not only they got crap inside, but they smell nasty out of the box.
+Foxxer yeah xD
duuude, put a shirt on, pretty please :D
Is flux from soldering n shieeet
Well...the radiators were 97% clean... :P
alphacool dirtiest rads there is
Gotta say, your face looks like it's pointing vertically. Not a bad thing, just unusual
He
Lol
Lol
