The Magpie Salute which brings together the reunited definitive Black Crowes guitar duo of Rich Robinson and Marc Ford, bassist Sven Pipien (also from the Crowes) along with lead singer John Hogg (Hookah Brown, Moke), drummer Joe Magistro, and keyboardist Matt Slocum.

I can’t say enough good things about The Magpie Salute. Rich Robinson was always the driving musical force behind the Crowes, and he is going through a real purple patch in this band. I hope they tour the UK, not just a one-off show in London.
As a day one Black Crowes fan I almost hate to say it, but: John's voice, with its range and tonal accentuations, seems to offer even more options and variety to your songwriting. Lovin' it!

I saw John Hogg years ago with Moke when they opened for King's X, and I still listen to Moke's 2 albums. I'm really looking forward to the album, interested to finally see what John and Rich have to offer. John is a great singer and songwriter.

It’s weird to admit, but the absence of Chris makes this music much more of what its capable of and John has the right stuff to get it there, and the fact Rich is out there making music with the guys he loves and seems to get his best work out with, makes this band so awesome to see out and taking the risks with new tunes.
