- I'm a real big fan of finding multiple uses for materials I have for tying and this fly is a perfect example. Sili-legs is an awesome material for adding movement to lure and streamer patterns, but here, I use it to make an epic grub for grayling and trout.
Super versatile due to the amount of colours you can find this material in and super durable. I'm sure this is going to be a favourite box filler for nymph anglers around the world!
Materials List:
Hook: Size 14, Fulling Mill Heavy Czech
Thread: 12/0, Semperfli Nanosilk in White
Underbody: Flat Lead Wire covered by PTFE
Body: Semperfli Sili-legs in Fire Orange Barred
Resin: Semperfli Thin, No Tac UV Resin
Thank You for Watching, as always.
Great tip with the teflon tape to help cover the lead and smooth out the body. Really nice fly. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks for the kind words, I’m glad you enjoyed that tip. It’s got many uses in fly tying, I’ll be sharing more of them soon!
Nice one and appreciate the running commentary as you work explaining what you are doing and why
Thank you, I try to make it as easy to follow as possible and explain why I do certain things too!
