  • I went and checked out Cline Butte during a rainy spell back in June. It's a 3 hour drive from my house, and close to Bend, OR. It was my first time riding out here. It started off with a really steep climb to the top of the butte. The descent from the butte was rocky and technical, and it led into a jump line with fairly steep lips with tighter transitions than I'm used to hitting normally. I was hitting these with my Devinci Spartan 27.5. Someone accustomed to jumping with 29 inch wheels could probably make these work, but it would feel pretty tight and lippy. Seems like these jumps were made with 26" in mind. The soil is similar to other central Oregon riding areas; loose and sandy.

Looks fun with the rocky rough run up to jumps that def are bigger than the go pro shows. I liked the honest assessment and 3hrs later shreddin it!

Thanks! It was definitely pushing me out of my comfort zone, but that's what makes it rewarding.

How does this trail compare to Jonny Royale at sandy? Like if I can do Jonny is this one a lot harder or only slightly harder?

If you can ride Jonny Royale, you should be able to ride these. They're slightly steeper, and a little bit more technical
