I went the banks route. Pretty easy install and easy to access drain and fill. Haven’t really noticed any of the performance gains they claim, but it looks cool.
a lot of people swear by the Lube Locker gasket. I bought the banks rear diff cover for my truck. 2019 F250 powerstroke. I am happy with it. They have a package deal with Amsoil diff fluid. The banks cover has a drain hole, sight glass and fill hole all with nice O-Rings. Something like $480 with the fluid. $400 without the fluid.
@@MotorHead18 yes sir, my first was a 2012 and second was a 2017. The 12 had around 130k but the seventeen was under 50 and still under warranty. It pisses me off that after all these years they continue to use the same injection pump. I refuse to buy another. I have a landscaping company here in Georgia and have had great luck with ford trucks. I still have 2 7.3 liter trucks on the road everyday. 2000 and a 2002. The fuel pressures that these new diesels are running is ridiculous. Ole high pressure oil pump goes out it doesn’t cost you a whole fuel system.
@@wesleydean4228 damn. Sounds like some bad luck, and don’t blame you for going gas. I wouldn’t mind having a 7.3 diesel one of these days. Music to my ears when I hear those haha
@@MotorHead18 they have no power but are easy to work on…. Maybe some bad luck 🤷♂️ I do have a hard time knowing my fuel system is operating at some 30k psi… for crying out loud at 50-60k psi you are able to cut through metal. The gas does not pull like the 6.7 but gets the job done with very little to worry about. 6.7 torque and shear power is very impressive.
Wouldn't that be something 🤣 When I changed the fluid I did buy two different weight oils(2 quarts of 75w90 and 2 quarts of 75w140) and had no way back to the parts store. Had to put it in anyways and then change it again the next day🤣🤦♂️
I made the mistake of using the gasket along with the gasket maker and I have the same seeping issue. Haven’t had to add any fluid and it’s been about 30,000 miles so it’s very slight but noticeable. I wanna eventually get the Mag Hytec replacements, then I’ll use only the gasket maker or try the lube locker.
Bad luck with the Fel-Pro gasket. As stated, try the Lube-Locker for your rear diff. So far, after servicing my front D-60 a few months ago, I used a Lube-Locker and to date no leaks. I would have used on my rear diff, but my '17 F350 has a Dana M275 which a gasket is not available (same gasket maker used as in your vid). I've watched Bank's videos on their rear diff cover - lots of explanations and such, but would like to see a 3rd party review of Banks, AFE, Mag-Hytec, and PPE. Just my opinion for the $$$.
Absolutely agree. A few recommendations for the lube locker now so I will check it out. Probably use the same fluid I just threw in there recently. In regards to the diff covers, I don't like the flat cover style. Just doesn't seem efficient to me, and I know our diffs get hot. Towing or daily driving with 37s, the diff should be spoiled haha
I went back and reviewed your first service in April 2021. You very carefully serviced and installed the FelPro gasket. Any thoughts on why the Seepage/leakage? Are there torque specs? Can’t imagine you not using them if known. Any thought appreciated as I plan to do this service when the temps are above -5 degrees up here in Wisconnie. Thanks.
I definitely would have torqued them down. I plan on cleaning the spillage off, and tightening them slightly to see if it continues. If I were you, I would just use the gasket maker, or take a few guys recommendations and use a lube locker gasket once you can't see your own breath in Wisconsin lol
Hey Bud, doesn't Banks make a diff cover for that Ford? I'm going with one, when my Ram rear end is ready for service. Have you checked the torque on that cover? Could need a little tightening.

Ease of maintenance is definitely ideal. Just like my fumoto drain valve. Especially since I do all of the maintenance myself.

Ouch lol
But it has solid research and development. Can’t go wrong with banks. I’ll look into the live locker gasket!
New to the channel thanx for all the info I just clicked the sub button 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks brother!
Love ford trucks… after my second cp4 decided to leave the chat I had no choice but to go gas. Good tip on draining off the water separator.
Damn!!! Twice?

I used a felpro gasket for my rear diff on my 6.0 and it hasn't leaked a drop yet....yet is the key word lol. But so far so good 👍

Soak those wipers and n aerospace 303. It will soften them up and make them last like 4x longer.

What size of tires and size rims are those that you have in your truck , if you can tell me , looks good

Where do I get the exhaust pipe to delete the dpf? And where did you buy the tuner??

Just curious why you changed from the 2018 Ram, to the F250?
