Thank you for supporting dolphins by speaking out. 🕊🐬❤
You have to know Mr. Chris that flip flops on eggs is a symbole for délicate and precise walking without causing damage toeggs, that is: to anyone. It's full of meaning.
Thank you for the info !
Aaron the bus driver (my son) helped me with an IT issue so I can leave comments for both of you. I enjoy your videos, so many experiences.
That is awesome! Thank you so much .... Your son is such a fabulous supporter and friend to Tread !! Woo Hoo - thank you too for joining us on these adventures xx Best wishes Marianne xx 🌺 🚐 💐
Hi, Mom!!! 😘😘😘
Batumi is a really nice city with its architecture and atmosphere. ❤
When i run through park in batumi, i was assaulted by racist. While running, a group of teenagers were walking from the other side. When they looked at me they started to block the road, act like monkeys and laugh at me. As I flew past doing middle finger, they grabbed me, and started assaulting me.
After the violence, many people around me try to help me. But among them, there was no Georgian.
Police don't admit it is racism and they were saying that it was deviation of teenagers.
When I asked if I would have experienced something like this if I was European, their response was "there are many Japanese and Chinese restaurants here, and there is no racist here"
What a weird logic.
Country that tolerate racism
Country not worth a visit
City not worth a visit
Never visit Georgia
Hope you enjoyed. Greetings and respect from Georgia.❤️🇬🇪
Thank you
I’ve lived here for five months already and I love it

Some Italian trucks located in the Dolomite Alps also have the steering wheel on the right side. This makes it easier for the driver to estimate how far they are away from the incline on narrow Alpine pass roads in case of close encounters. Maybe that's the same in Georgia, roads seem to look really crazy/scary.
When I was in Georgia, the story that was told to me was that, at one time it was possible to get very cheap secondhand Japanese imports. This is because there was an excess of second-hand cars in Japan and as there aren’t many left-hand drive countries for them to export to, therefore they were a good bit cheaper to buy than right hand drive second-hand cars (as the vast majority of right hand drive countries banned import and sale of them for safety reasons). However, there was no such ban in Georgia for a good few years, and therefore there was a flood of very cheap second-hand left hand drive cars from Japan. Many people bought them as they felt the cheap price made up for the inconvenience of driving them. Eventually, as there were a lot of reports of people in such cars causing accidents, as they didn’t have a good view of the road, the Georgian government joined the vast majority of right hand drive countries in banning the import of such cars. Therefore the amount of cars with the steering wheel on the "wrong side" will start to decline, but there are currently still a lot of them around.
@@RonKiltub Correct ! 👍

Great video. Thanks for the new vista.
We are glad you enjoyed it !
Batumi looks amazing. Love your travel vlogs 🙏❤️
Thank you!! 😊
Really interesting. Love seeing old and new buildings, did that last week round London, as its just up the road. Plus I see it at work too. Enjoy x
Wonderful
Like you said, what remarkably diverse architecture! Wow! The many murals and street art bring a lot of character as well.
Loved Marianne's impression of David Attenborough! 😆 And the "You're Still Here" always make us smile. ❤❤😎👍xx
Ha Ha !! Thanks .... yep it is a fascinating place with such a mix and diversity ... loved it !
Batumi looks just like how I remember it when I was there in 2018. I recommend the evening musical fountains show, the Alphabet Tower with its bar at the top, and the moving Ali and Nino statues. As for the bizarre flip flops on eggs, I reckon the artist was thinking about walking on eggshells 😆
Another fantastic video thank you very much love them all Woohoo Oh you’re still there, love it haha 👍❤️
Glad you enjoyed it - Thanks Bill
Wonderful Video as Always 👌. Batumi is Very Beautiful indeed👍. Georgia is Somewhere I didn't know too much about, but I'm loving it already 🥰. Thanks So Much Marianne & Chris. And yes, I'm still here🤣. Loved the ending Chris😀☘.

Enjoy your video! It looks like a strange city but still worthwhile to visit.
It really is!
Nice new top, Marianne. 🩴
Totally agree about dolphinariums, they are so cruel.
What a fascinating city, except for the horrid beach.
I too miss "Oh your still there."The last one I remember is when you spoke to fans around Trudy,I was apparently in the toilet.Cheek.
Ha Ha !! Yes .. you were !! Mx
Fab video the food looks super yummy 😋
Thank you 😋
Adorei o video, fantastico, fez um overview na cidade ! Obrigado !
On 8:35 octopus created Tsereteli georgian artist in soviet period.
Absolutely loved the video of Batumi , what an amazing place. So much colour and interesting things to see and do. They have an upside down white house on international drive , Orlando ,Florida the very same as in your video. World of wonder I think it was called ? Hope you enjoyed your beer and glass of wine 🍷 , thanks for sharing , stay safe guys x
Glad you enjoyed it - we did !! It was so much fun and as you say so colourful and interesting - M xx 🌺

Oh no! Lucila ... that sounds like a hellish week !! Sending Tread love and virtual hugs from us xx We are glad to have you with us and we will be back on Wednesday xx Thank you for watching xx Marianne xx
I've missed the 'oh, you are still there' 😁. Batumi looks really interesting and some lovely architecture. Am a massive fan of octopus as my photo shows so that octopus bar would be somewhere i'd have to go. That and the fact it looked fab too. Really looking forward to the next Georgia installment 👍
Thanks Maxine !! Yes it is great .... we are excited to share 🌺
I am very pleasantly suprised. I had no idea about this place. I am a sucker for geography, arcitecture, nature and culture so I watch all sorts of including those. I have missed out. What a fun city. Clearly lots of humor and really querky things going on. Love that. So rare to see. I am not much into modern arcitecture but I must say. That was stunning mindblowing and fun. And what contrast so the old town and classical buildings. I absolutely love it! Haha to the graveyard comment. Chris you are naughty. Teasing Marianne wich the heigts like that. haha And Mariannes reply. Dont have to be moved if fallen daown. Epic!
Hello - I’m a new subscriber now busy trying to catch up on several years of videos! Great inspiration - I’m planning to retire at the end of this year (I’m 52 now) and looking to travel extensively throughout Europe. Looking forward to following your adventures 🙂
Welcome aboard! And thank you for joining / finding and subscribing !! Woo hoo - best wishes Marianne 🌺
Batumi city, like a cultural monument in the middle of greenery. The new tall concrete buildings around the coastline are very ugly looking. Batumi is a city with a very high educated population. Thank you very much for detecting and presenting very pleasant memories with video.
Wonderful
thanks much marrianne and chriss this nivlog best batum best tiblisi:))
Thank you too! We are glad you enjoyed it 🙌
Wet nice vlog! I am your new subscriber.
Thanks and welcome to Tread the Globe ! 🚐🌺
nice city batumi...i love this city
I’ve been there a week ago and it’s worth the visit
Very nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
Yep. Aquariums suck! Thanks for putting that message out there.
hello from tbilisi guys, thanks for visiting our country )))
Our pleasure! We are glad you enjoyed the video ... more to come !
Love the car with no bumper had rear wiper on- but no wiper! You sure the beach is a beach? Looks like hard core every where. That food looked sooo nice - well Jel that you are eating such lovely grub and now totally hungry.
You are correct and if you look at the wiper end it was moving !! LOL
Brilliant enjoyable video guys. Thanks 😁🍻. I believe there's so many right hand drive cars in Georgia because they can import them cheaper from Japan than anywhere else 😀
Thanks for the info 💐
Marrianne is the pied piper of dogs!!! My dad was like that with cats. You could have the nastiest of cats turn into a purring, loving kitten when my dad came past lol
Ha Ha - We would of got on great !! M xx
@@TREADtheglobe you would indeed. Me n my dad used to walk around marmaris n ichmeler exploring the culture etc whilst my mum n her friends did the sunbathing.
They sound like perfect days ..... 🌺
Why do cats gravitate to me also? I don't get it. My neighbors' cats always sneak in my house during the cold as well.
Güzel bir bölüm daha 😀👍🙏👏❤️🇹🇷🇬🇧🇬🇪❤️
Thank you !
@@TREADtheglobe just Great 😀🙏
Thanks for your interesting videos of Georgia and Batumi! In answer to your question on the right hand drive, there are a lot of Georgians living in UK & Ireland. They export cars back home to their families as that's almost always cheaper than buying a car in Georgia.
Same in Bulgaria.
İyi tatiller.
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
I just said you never do your “oh you’re still there anymore, and you did! 😂😁🤙
Ohhhhh Chris is obviously psychic !! Can you say .... Chris and Marianne have not won the lottery recently ?? LOL 😂😂😍
Tread lightly in life.😎
Not sure if this is something that you are interested in or if you have time, but a huge part of Georgian culture is the traditional song and dance. The Black Sea variation of the Georgian folk music and dance is very bright, playful and happy. Batumi is a home for many great musicians and dancers.
Oh this sounds fabulous !! we are no longer here ..... we are in the East ... But we plan to come back in Spring .... if you have any tips / advice on where to visit please do direct message me on Insta / facebook or our email is on the website 🌺
That was fun. Looking forward to the trip to the mountains. Did anyone else expect a statue of the Spice Girls?
LOL !! no just me ha ha xx
My holy God! How could you not like the videos you guys make. You have a " TILSIM" ( this is a Turkish word and I THINK it means MAGIC): every video has some TILSIM in them.
Maryanne towards the ends of the video you said " SEREFE". What a touch there.👍👍
By the way, I talked to my Retired geologist friend about you guys.
He said that when you guys are coming closer if he happens to be in ANTAKYA, he will show you around. 🥰👍
Love from Florida to my ambassadors. Be safe!
Thanks Nick !! If you message us directly through my email on the website - we can try and arrange a meet up 🙌🌺. If you add an email address in a message it hides the message ... M xx

Will do. Be safe
Hi Marion and Chris. this video is so good. very informative. we would like to go to Batumi in the 1st week of August. do u think its a good time to visit Batumi?when were u here?
Yep summer time is apparently the best time to visit 👍
To me it's a drive through town. Or, better, avoid it and take the other road. But your ability to find something to be amazed of is really amazing.
Ha Ha ... I think with travel we like to find the best bits (as there are always good places in every place ... even if it is the people !!) M xx
@@TREADtheglobe You are certainly right with the people!
Georgia is literally different place. 😇As an ex-soviet country; mostly old tall grey concrete soviet blocks are dominating the cities. Places like Batumi have some renovated soviet buildings from external front and converted to artificially Baltic architecture and also carries some Georgian native buildings. And modern buildings and skyscapers there mostly made by investments of Turkey.
Moreover Georgia is diverse in climate as well !! Despite of its really small size, it has various type climate ranging from moderate blacksea to highly arid zones.
Telling about Georgia, wine is a must to talk about. The first place ever to produce wines and has amazing wines. And script of Georgian alphabet is so unique and classy. Its been selected worlds most aesthetically looking script. Never turn back trying Hachapuri, Hinkali and Georgian wines.😋😋
I went to the Telavi wine festival in 20016 it was great.
I can imagine !!
@@TREADtheglobe Dancing, music and singing as well as the excellent wine.! You will have noticed the young Georgians are a good looking bunch.
problem with the black sea always looks grim with terrible beaches, love your british style videos
Beaches are terrible-impossible to walk/sit on,reminds me of Croatia and the Adriatic coast tho there are a few sandy beaches there tbf.
Steering wheels on the right - because those cars are cheaper. :D
Such A great Video what the locals like and the overnight stays like ??
All good !! And super friendly 🌸
1:09 it was cheap to import cars from Japan were cars have steering wheel on the right hand side. few years ago Goverment had increased import tariffs on cars with steering wheel on the right to decrease number of such cars.
Ahh ok - thanks for the info
I knew nothing about Georgia until watching , did you get the midnight train that is the question ? 👍🚐😂
Welcome to Batumi! We are always glad to see good people! Enjoy your stay!
Thank you so much ! We have had such a great time 🌺🙌
0:48 most works don't start before 9 o'clock, some even start their work at 10.
thanks for the info
It is not directly my thing till now. What a difference with Turkey. Cirius for the next flipflop on eggs 😉
Love watching your journey. If you were in going to settle anywhere to move to live, where be would you choose and why?
Hi Rebecca - Right now ... I can't think about living anywhere but home (the UK) as that is where my family is .... and as they say - home is where the heart is! But we have the best of both worlds as our home Trudy means we can live everywhere LOL !! woo hoo.
@@TREADtheglobe we live in Thailand, but are looking to move to Turkey as it's too hot here, all the year round. Haven't decided on an area yet though, but probably one of the towns on the Aegean coast.
Reminds me of Havana, in a good way.
i love people that dogs love
Me Too !! M xx
we have many right hand drive cars because years ago it was cheaper to import cars from Japan
I'm from Russia but I been in Tehran shiraz isfahan and other cities in iran and I hope again going there

Have you guys shot the drone footage yourselves or was it stock? If it is shot by you then how do you tackle problems about permissions and stuff?
Hi - if it is legal for us to drone we do .... but if not we pay for stock footage to make a nice experience for the viewer ... as there is no way to tackle permissions and stuff LOL 😂👍
My ancestors from Batum,Georgia but i never been there :)
Hi, great video, thank you! I too am considering driving into Georgia in my mhome from the UK....can you recommend an insurance company please as I'm struggling to get cover?
Hi if you email me - address on the website - I will send you the details xx
I got a bit distracted during the introduction of Neptunes Fountain 😂
LOL
Hi Maryanne, and Chris
I am writing from Melbourne Australia, thankyou for your beautiful informative and inspiring videos. I wanted to ask a few questions, my husband and I are thinking of campervanning from Uk, through whole of Europe and then Turkey, wanted to ask what are the requirements when crossing borders with a campervan from lets say UK or Turkey or Australia??
Hi Asya - things are so fluid right now that they change daily or weekly !! But researching on blog posts that are recent or on government websites will give you all the info you need .... as my kids to us ... google is your friend !! M
@@TREADtheglobe thankyou for your quick response.
You are welcome ... if we are on editing days, I have my laptop open and on .... but sometimes when we travel it will take me a wee while to get back to you - M xx
