This card is definitely a keeper! Tons of benefits for the annual fee. (Free checked bags, TSA credit, primary car rental insurance, free lounge passes).
Yeah I think all 6 of the United cards can be keeper cards depending on your situation. So many solid benefits from all these cards I didn't have time to mention in this video
It's a great card for sure! Awesome to hear it works well for you. Do you think you'll be getting the new United card design? I requested a new one for my United Gateway recently.
I usually don't request the new designs with my cards, but I should probably do it to stay up to date and gain a "collectors item". I really like the design of the old United Business card so I was sad to see the change, but I'll get over it haha
Even though I was working on AA and Delta status I keep learning again and again why you can still get good value on the routes you actually need with United. And without having to find these unicorn redemptions requiring combinations of extreme skill, persistence, luck, and large amounts of flexibility. Maybe United is the middle ground. Just wish they had a 4x earning card
That's a big reason why I wanted to share this video. Even though I don't fly United very often, I can still get great use out of the credit card and United miles
It's definitely not like that every day, but it's nice that there's more and cheaper award space when you have a United card. Not very many people talk about that perk so I wanted to give it some spotlight in this video!
Bruh I deadass just booked a flight from PHX to SFO 😂 it was only like $95 each way but 15k points round trip wouldn’t be too bad either. I think I’ll eventually get a united card when the time is right!
Haha that's funny! Usually those flights aren't too expensive, so I think the deal you got was pretty good. It's nice that the card gives you more options for flight times when booking with points even though the discount doesn't show up every for every flight
Yeah I think that's a blanket statement people use, but there are deals that still make sense on United when their prices are similar to other partners like Avianca and Air Canada. United can end up being a better pick even with slightly higher prices due to their free cancellations, so just depends on what availability and options are out there!
Hey Jacob, Im really contimplating this card but had quetions about the checked bag. terms states "purchase requirement is waived for flights completed during the 90 days following the account open date". First question can I use points to purchase tickets and get this perk? Does that verbage from terms mean I can purchase tickets now and still use the perk later when i decide to get the card as long as my flight is 90 days from when I applied for it? Thanks
Hey, yes I’m pretty confident you can use points to get free checked bags as long as you pay the taxes and fees with this card. And yes, you will get the free checked bag for a flight purchased now and flown within 90 days after you got the card
@@JacobsPointsAndProfit I know man 😂 I may just let P2 sit out the game for 6 months until she is under 5/24 and just have her grab all our Chase cards
You also forgot to mention that by having a personal United credit card, you get an additional 5k miles each anniversary year since you do have the United Business card as well.
united kind of treats their award ticekts like handouts so if something happens to you flight you are the last one they will help since its a "free" ticket".. personal experience
That's a good plan. I was thinking if I ever got a personal card I would eventually end up with the no annual fee Gateway card for the lowest priced 5k anniversary points
@@JacobsPointsAndProfit no reason to pay double annual fee for the same bag benefits. Combine its a keeper card. Alone it would depends on how many bags you save. Get the personal on a good offer with AF. Hopefully 70k+
You should have it with the Explorer card. Maybe check different routes or dates just to test it out to see if you can find that discount and make sure you're logged in
@@JacobsPointsAndProfit yeah i removed my credit card and they have a plug in to sign into chase from the united website but it didn't work. my question is when you look at your cards on your profile, does it show the VISA logo or does is have a UNITED blue box... I see there is a "+ ass credit card" and below there are a lot of little icons the first being united, but when i add my it doesn't show that. I am a premier silver, so the only discounts i see says its that but they are usually small like 5%
I think I found what you were describing. When I'm on my profile it has a United icon under the default card, but then I clicked to view all cards and it showed a Visa logo. It's possible if you have Premier Silver that you already receive the same discount as if you have a United credit card
@@JacobsPointsAndProfit so looking at the United cards I noticed that under the United Club credit card there is a benefit “10% discount on United Economy Saver Awards” which isn’t on any of the other cards… do you have that one? Like I said the only discounts I see is premier discount (since I am silver I guess?)
@@rybowens I only have the United Business card. I think you should have the points discount. For me, some flights are 2% discounted, others are 40% discounted. It all depends on what you search for

Got my United card last year and will be using it this year. Nice presentation. Subscribed.
Nice! Thanks so much for subscribing!

Whoaaa i didnt expect saver award pricing would be that much of a difference. Time to put a united card in my roadmap

Never. Gonna. CANCEL!!! 💪🏾
There's no reason to cancel!
Do people actually transfer chase points to united? I always hear that’s bad but idk 🤷🏽♂️
Transferring Chase points to United can be good and it could be bad. It all depends on what flight you book with your points
I did recently for my flight to Tokyo. It came out to be 1.5 CPP, so wasn't too bad vs the 1.25 CPP i would have gotten using the CSP portal.
