I am +60 and I'm happy to get off the bike after 400km to refule. Sold my 1250 GS to have this one. Delivery in end of May. Let's see how that goes:)
I think its more like 330km and since there isent a gas station everywhere on adventures, you might have to look for one after 250km... i dont know. I think adventure bikes should have around 20L tank (5,5g)
Chad! Ya messing with my mind! Mcn,bikeworld and now bennetts ffs😂😂😂😂
hahaha
Never mentioned the 14L tank did you or a comparison to the desert x
No sign of the GS 900 at Erzberg. Ducati DesertX won the Iron Road Prologue twin cylinder trophy AGAIN. Antonio Mao kicked butt.
Honda needs to bring the Africa Twin our to that event too.
I have over 13k in under 1 year on my DesertX, stellar bike.
Colours are spot on! I like them.
Very nice, but I can't ignore the high price. If it were me looking to buy, I would inevitably choose a better value option. There are plenty of very decent alternatives.
High price for a chinese made engine.
How does it compere to Ducati DesertX or Triumph Tiger rally pro?
If it means anything, for me it felt punchier on the gas, and ligher for slow manouvering than DX. I didn't get to try Triumph tho.
Also, I would rather crash offroad with a f900 than the DX, both for how protected it looks stock compared to stock DX, and for pick-up geometry as well.
I would say it is the closest rival to 890/901 platform. DX & AT are more in a topheavy and less "angry" sub-category of their own IMO.
@@stavrozinio Thanks a lot mate.
Testrode a DX last year with a termi and a tune. 120hp. Plenty of power. Curious to see how this bike compares in the fun-department on road. Any comparison?
I’m surprised there is no comments on the weight distribution. I only had the opportunity to sit on one in a show room and it was shocking how the weight was all at the top!!😮 it felt as if they had filled the fuel tank with concrete. Just can’t imagine riding this bike in technical off road conditions.
I was considering this and the Norden 901. I pick my Norden up on Friday, and when I pick it up off the floor on my first trail fail it’s be a lot easier to do than if it were the BMW. Trading in my World Raid too, same reason, too much up top.
Can’t agree more. The regular f900 is the same, as is the f90xr. Reeeally top heavy despite a normal weight overall.
I meant to go and have a look at these but don't consider them a viable off road bike.
I pickup my norden-901-expedition-2024 Saturday, was gonna go with the world raid but the husky seems sorted out the box.....+ there aren't many around.....
@@thebarbers and it is a really good looking bike too!
@@thebarbers I'm swapping my World Raid for the Norden 901. I rode a friend's 890AR recently, much more stable at lower speeds in the mud. You'll be making the right choice going straight to the N901.
The way it sounds it needs a “farm use” license plate
Is the motor built by "Beijing Motor Works" again?
What's with the ch8nese angle here? I'm reading such comments on the 900 videos. A bit lost to be honest...
Just xenophobia. Everything is made in China - the poor quality and the world class. BMWs assembled in Berlin (or KTMs in Austria, Hondas in Japan or Triumphs in the UK) are made from the same parts regardless (and guess what? Many of those parts are manufactured in China too). Just one of many clichés floating around.
@@Whatreally123 Chinese manufacturers were known for copying euro/japan products with much lesser quality, but nowadays, they manufacture WITH the euro/japanese taking care of QA... so Same quality, lower costs and final assembly made in europe, so you can have a euro sticker.
I wouldn't have believed it 3 years ago. Now it's well proven in the f900xr ,with many of them covered over 60k miles with no issues.
Let’s hope so. Might be reliable
So should they have put a 19“ wheel on the front for the road one?
It looks quite a similar concept to the Desert X (including the non adjustable windscreen).
Always sunny at Bennetts bike social
I think the one that interest me the most is the 900 adv. Since this has taken more of a step to the off road side of things, id be interested to know if the adv is the euro tourers option. Have a feeling the incoming 1400gsa will just be too much of a bike to replace my 1250adv with. This may be an option
I was waiting for the new GS reveiws, and the brits come in clutch!
Love the Brazilian yellow...or whatever it's called? Went to see it at the NEC and missed it ,being so busy...
Great review. I’d love to hear more about the engine sound, feel and smoothness. My girlfriend has the 750gs and it’s nicknamed the lawnmower because of the agricultural motor. Had the character change with the new 900cc variant? Also I’m about Chads height, would love to hear if he can get both feet down and if so how tippy toe it is? I’m imaging the thinner saddle compensates for the height a little. Thanks and keep up the good work!
Sorry, I just comment, but. I feel that bike manufacturers try to sell electronic packages, for more stability - performance. But what a about true real mechanical grip, without additional electronic help? How will it ride without these assists, in critical situations?
Great solid review - traded my 850GS in for it, mine is coming in April. Cant wait. And yes, I bought the Enduro Pro .
Seems the only major flaw is the tiny fuel tank. Can’t go very far off road with 14L
I agree. Very disappointing when they seemed to have gotten everything else right.
Fantastic looking bike can you review the F900GS adventure and the New F800GS
I've been super excited about a review of this motorcycle. its absolutely stunning! its like a German made T7. if i may ask in comparison to the T7 is it better or worse and why? plus. how tall are you and do you flat foot the bike? Love the T7 but i tip toe on it and that kinda is a bummer for me
Chinese made 😂
@@DaleMt09sp really? The engines are produced in China? I call BS
so is your smart phone, your tablets and the computer you're watching this on....@@DaleMt09sp
@@Lucas-ie2tithey’re made by Loncin, a well-known Chinese manufacturer
When does the F800GS review arrive?
Is the bike capable to carry fit luggage
Looks great. It is lighter, but also expensier. :) Can't wait to try it. Got my like here.
i love the colors :D
The colour looks even better in the flesh. Very distinctive
Very exciting! Funny though, the headlight has hits of the Honda CB500x.
That was my first thought. 500x Transalp Headlight!
The tank size is worth mention
San Paulo is looking fantastic!! more young more athletic. Thanks for the review :)

I would go for the KTM 890 adventure for the looks and the engine wise.
1 thing clear of KTM is the adventure off-road ride, you can do anything with the bike.
It sounds like a can of beans
omg too funny 🤣🤣
Great review as ever - can i ask what jacket your wearing - just what I’m looking for?
I tested the off road version today. Loved it.
what make is your jacket Chad?
It’s a Knox urbane pro utility by the looks of it
New Triumph 900 enduro pro or BMW 900 Gs for someone who mostly rides off road?
Get The Rally Pro
BMW F900GS vs Triumph Tiger 900 comparison please. Both road and off road if thats not too much of an ask.
Insane, so the roads/dirt you were on look like a nice "adv" environment. You were using 30-40 HP probably for 90% of the time. This is a big bike, collectively our definitions of what is small/big are twisted by now. Yes awesome looking bike, because of us, that is what they build and sell (I guess more loans, more payments, more debt). My friend and I are getting two CFMOTO 450MTs, and will still have left over funds for a nice, long, adv trip. Welcome to 2024.
yep I agree way too much bike for the sort of riding they were doing. expensive poser bike? the trouble with these bikes they are so big and powerful that the have to dial it back with rider aids..
@@AndyPat239… all bikes have rider aids. Those same rider aids have mass motorcycle riding exponentially safer compared to the past
@@WilliamWBG nope. not all bikes have rider aids. my bike doesn't even have ABS !
DesertX vs T7 vs F900GS
T7 lack a thousand things compared to those two. T7 is a good price for what you get tho
Blimey is there any bike that Chad hasn’t reviewed in the past couple of months? Where have the rest of the channel presenters gone?
It looks good but I wonder at BMW’s strategy. This seems very off road oriented - this may be fashionable but be honest, no one who has paid out £15K is going to bash the hell out of it, and this was in tandem with virtually no update to the other two models (except replacing the 850 engine with the already developed 900 engine). They’re looking tired and desperately in need of a refresh now as the competition has moved on a lot. If I had this money I’d either be looking at the KTM 890/Tiger 900 (5.5L bigger tank, lighter, better features and practicality) or save several thousand and look at the Transalp or Suzuki 800DE/RE. It’s doubly odd given the effort BMW has put into the 1300 - and I am a serial BMW midrange bike owner. Right now I can’t see my next bike being a BMW 800/900.
Love the Chad... I work hard
All black and gold rims looks perfect to me
Surely the road orientated one isn’t called a 900gs but the 800gs?
I have an F900XR and whilst that’s still the best choice for me and for the riding I do, I do rather like the aesthetic of this GS. Particularly the black and yellow one. I also think these smaller GSs are a bit more authentic than the big ones which have become the Range Rover of bikes.
Why would they not put an 18 inch wheel in the back
What brand is your jacket…? It is very nice…
The Transalp is a choice that makes more sense.
This or a Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro?
Tiger rally pro 💯
Would love a GT version with 19 front like the Triumph
I remember when bikes sounded good.
Not a vacation 😂
Great bike!
What mesh jacket is Adam wearing please?
Knox Men’s Urbane Pro® Utility MK3 - Olive
@@LTS280thank you👍
3ltrs down on the old one, that is where majority of the weight has been saved, no cruise control, I'll stick with my old model, the new one looks great but not worth that price tag
How tall are you?
How does it compare with the Ducati DessertX Rally
The rally...not even close but the rally is very expensive and pretty damn tall
Looks a great bike. Interestingly though every single one of the competitors has better fuel range and capacity. The tank is too small for proper adventure travel. Also a shame they couldn't get the weight down to KTM 890 Adventure levels (which in itself has loads of weight you can shed easily).
KTM doesn’t publish a wet weight. It says 200Kg dry, so with oil, 20L fuel etc it’s going to be near 220Kg. This bikes advertised wet weight is 219Kg so no practical difference.
@@MH-xd2ndThe KTMs 790, 890 both R and regular version have been weighed extensively by various people and publications. We know it's 212-214kg full depending on the model. There is absolutely no doubt, it's common knowledge. So you've got more fuel, more range, and less weight. The only problem is it's a KTM 😉
@@defylifeadventure…… and don’t forget…….being a KTM means. …an extra 7-10kg of tools and spare parts to be carried at all times.
@@WilliamWBGso true 😂
too much engine noise in mic
Boog boog boog 😂
Best Starbucks coffee getter with your slacks & pennie loafers 😆
Must be minted Chad lol😂
Honda africa for me please
Let's tear up more of the earth than we humans already have. Cause lots of erosion, silt up streams, fill the wilderness with noise, and make any wildlife left flee before us. All in the name of FUN!
You should make a sign and go block traffic
Jeeezus More of Chad!!😂😂
love the chad
Looks like an overgrown Honda cb500x, it sure doesn't look like a GS. Where's the beak?
"It feels like the F900 is the true continuation of the F800, not the F850.
This sounds like my 30 year old lawnmower on its last leg 😆
My 1969 Honda 50 sounded better 💯 🏍️💨
Isn't this the one with Chinese engine?
Why would the Africa Twin be in this category? It's an 1100. It should be competing with the Tiger 1200, Ducati Multistrada, etc.
Just because the capacity is the same or similar doesn't mean the power/torque are.
@@bennettsbikesocial true, but aren't they normally categorized by displacement? By definition, isn't it a "big bore ADV bike" and 900s are considered "mid size"? It's usually how they're insured too.

Lovely Bike, But....Digital Speedo. Form over Function.
I dont have a bike, but I am planning on getting one and learning how to ride etc. As such, I am looking into some videos, particularly ADV style ones. Without fail, I see so many fans of every bike, shouting over each other. It is always the same in any community to be honest.
The features of a product rarely grow linearly with respect to its price. At the lower end, you get a lot for your money, especially functionally. Even a bicycle comes with wheels and chain, the core is there. With more and more features, like BMW has, the improvements in performance, or luxury becomes less pronounced relative to the cost. These features, while potentially offering real life benefits, may not provide proportional value to the rider, depending on their needs, budget and riding style.
Sure, a Yamaha Tenere will be perceived as more value for money. This does not mean a F900GS is a bad bike. I find it increasingly difficult to understand what the bike is capable on its own terms, against the environment. Comparing a 20K product to a 9K product may seem like a good pastime for almost every commenter, but if you take a step back, you can perhaps see how much unnecessary gatekeeping and unwelcome the community becomes.
This is true for any fandom tbh, but I always thought riders were the cool ones :)
£15,000 for that!!
No thanks.
Chad sort ya cornering style out. Looks like ya havin a seizure mid corner..
Can’t believe you do this as a job. Not fair..
It sounds awful
I cannot get seriously the riding experience while I see this body position in turns.
Sorry but when you take jobs out of Europe and North America I refuse to support any company that builds major parts in China. I have nothing against China but not everything in the world has to be built there. Most people that buy these bikes are located in the western hemisphere. I make it a purpose now for big purchases to ask the breakdown of the vehicle and its major components. Nothing wrong in supporting the part of the world I live in……
Weakling
Nobody gives a shit, especially not the manufacturers
What phone or tablet did you wrote that with?
Then you'd complain about a 30k price.
The yellow colored one looks horrible
Motorcycle producers have completely lost it!
BMW made completely stupid bike, and on top of that made it in road and off road version! Does anyone there have any brain cells left?
Additionally, watching journalists testing the bike and not having guts to say the truth is so depressing. Why are you there - to praise the bike or to tell your viewers a truth?
Please elaborate on the reasons you think BMW made a 'stupid bike'. I'm genuinely curious as to your expert opinion.
I would, but I'm afraid it would be a waste of time
@@mirozubacno im curious too. The only stupid thing i see is the tank size and i agree on why would they make a off road bike and on road version
