I will explain some basic mechanisms of the emergence of geometry from quantum physics. Field theories in dimension 1 (quantum mechanics) have an approximate description in terms of symplectic geometry. Conformal field theories in dimension 2 are approximately manifolds with Riemannian metrics satisfying the Einstein equation.
