I met Ken Patera at the old Buffalo memorial auditorium...wow!!!! He was intense and intimidating. He was nice, didn't say much but you knew not to mess with him. A man's man. He's the type that if he's at a bar, people avoid him just because he looks dangerous!!.... has he killed someone? Original ice-man.
I think he might actually be talking about the title matches with Billy in Portland, Maine on May 31, 1977 (heel vs. heel double DQ) and July 12, 1977 (Monsoon guest ref)
"Bodybuilder" or not, Superstar Billy Graham bench pressed 605 lbs back when the only guy who beat Graham held the world record at 615 lbs - only 10 lbs more that Superstar.
BILLY and KEN were both admitted steroid users. i am much more impressed with BRUNO SAMMARTINO who was clean and benched 565 pounds in 1959 and weighed only 265 pounds. and that was with a 2 second pause and no wraps or shirt.
@@MrMferg240 Are you sure Bruno was clean? Steroid users are like pedophiles, you never find out until they get busted. Steroids were around since the 1930's.

Not to take anything away from Hogan, but I believe that Superstar Billy Graham would have been Hulk Hogan before Hulk, if they would have turned Graham babyface in ‘78. Hogan himself openly admits to copying Superstar Billy Graham when he got his start.
That would have been a great angle - having a heel ken maybe do a double cross on a heel Graham- to turn him face. Those 2 feuding in the wwwf would've been awesome.
People who dont lift have no idea between bodybuilding & powerlifting not close now on strong man contests certain lifts that dont involve pure strength might be close deadlift lift not close squat not close maybe if they had to pull like a row they might come close.
What does Ken mean by selling out "around the horn". I am guessing he means 3 or 4 different WWF East coast venues, perhaps MSG, Boston Garden, I dont know what else. Pittsburgh? Philadelphia?
The Backlund critics seem out of touch with reality. Bob was very popular with the fans; he served the territory well during his tenure. It’s ok to prefer Graham to Backlund, but don’t create a revisionist glance back at wrestling history which makes Bob less than what he was!
Dumbest idea ever let's take a guy that is drawing tons of heat, making us $$ and put the belt on howdy doody, totally killing his push. Yeah let's do that .
Ken Patera interview is better than actually watching today’s pro wrestling.

Today's wrestling 🤼♂️ on 📺 is Goat 🐐 tripe...
Totally
Billy was WWF Champ for 9 months should have been Champ from 74 - 1980 Easy pure heat Charisma
Thank you for commenting
Billy was champ from 4-30-77 thru 2-20-78 way to short. I was live for billy's entire reign at MSG. He was so over.😊
Thank you
Ken Patera, swinging neckbreaker, yesss!!🤫🤫
In AEW they may no sell it
Great! The proof I needed that Ken Patera was seriously considered to take the WWWF belt from Bruno.
Yes from what he had informed us
Ken Patera rules.
Yes
I saw Ken in the Old Boston Gardens against Bruno as a kid. It was packed. I know we were in the balcony
Very cool
The greatest bad guy ever the king of trash talk that every modern trash talker looks up to. Real deal power lifter that could back it up all the way.

Kinda strange to say Outside the ring billy was normal like the rest of us.Superstar did appear normal but a lot of wresters don't.
