    I like the fact it doesn't take off too much at a time and seems to leave.a smooth finish.

    It convinced me, to use a hand plane.

    Bought this, it takes me about 10-12 passes to get 1/8 using an m12 Milwaukee drill. I like the finish but for some reason I can drill at an angle if you put too much pressure on the handle

    You may have to start from one end with the front on the door and the cutter off which is 1/32" lower.

    Won’t it splinter the door veneer when going cross grain on the top of the door?

    Quaint. Faster than sandpaper or a file. And you don’t want it to remove much at a time. Thx.

    Rather just use my Stanley no4, this looks like one of those things you buy on impulse use once and forget

    What the heck! Does the drill need to spin the bit Clockwise, or Counterclockwise?

    It seems that you do need to take the door off the frame, as the blade doesn't reach the bottom if you don't. I would rather use a planer if the door has to come off. Ryobi should move the blade 1/4" from the edge so the door doesn't need to come off.

    How does it trim?
    Does it use a blade/sandpaper, or anything that you need to replace it with for when it gets dull?

    Hey carl,i was wondering if you know where they can sell replacement bits for the door trimmer?

    • @ScrollsawVideo
      @ScrollsawVideo  Рік тому +1

      Cantact Ryobi, Im sure they sell them...but may not be cheap with the s&h. This could be one of thiose items where it is cheaper to buyt the complete kit for $15 than to buy just the bit.

    This is fine for the top of the door, or the edge opposite the hinges, but for the bottom and hinged sides, it does require removing the door, which is no trouble at all. The one thing that I DO NOT like about this tool, is the handle. I think they could have designed it to be used by either hand in any direction A LOT more comfortably.

      Why bother stating the obvious, of course you can't do the bottom or hinge edges with the door installed.....geezz
