Have you heard their other albums? Bloodlust is probably the best but Mind Control and The Night Creeper are pretty good too. I haven't listened to Vol. 1 much though.
@Krushing Pussy I'll have to take the time to get into it. It seemed like it had a real British 60s feel or something which isn't as much my thing. I like the hard rock and metal more. But I'll give it another shot.
Rock was never dead, it's just less popular. Ty Segall and Thee Oh Sees make great music. Great albums from recent years include Slaughterhouse (2012), Nonagon Infinity (2016), and Protean Threat (2020). Fuzz's rendition of 21st Century Schizoid Man is great too
This was one of the tracks I never listened to before and didnt know how good it was. I remember the exact day Pusher Man and those all dropped while I was just sitting in class, I was so stoked it was like 11th grade and I was stoned out of my gourd in English class on the chrome book just playing around and shit. I fell in love with the song when I saw them live a little bit ago, and they played this track like 3 or so in. Best show of my life, I fucking love uncle acid and I probably always will. @0:45 the way Kevin was going off I had to get out of the little pit for a second and just watch, that few lines was just so mesmerizing. My whole mind was just blown, melted away the entire show. I didnt even want to see king buffalo, and we showed up like 10 minutes before uncle acid opened and I wasnt even fully aware I was about to find the one point in my entire life that I would be able to say I felt "serenity". The best night of my entire life. Ive wanted to see uncle acid live since I was like 14 and first learning guitar. I finally lived my dream, and they played it virtually flawlessly, and I couldnt have been happier. I just wished that show lasted forever.
Has a very strong eighties influence. And something else I can't quite put my finger on. Sounds so familiar somehow. Oh well. It's better than anything else out there now!
Awesome! Definitely has a 70’s Judas Priest thing happening, aside from the tripped out vox. Keep hearing about these guys, first time hearing them. New fan here.
i love that song as well but i feel strong runaway girls vibe in the sense that it is an exemplary stand alone single but when you listen to melody lane with the whole context of the night creeper in mind it is just fucking unreal imho. i totally get melody lane vibes from shockwave city and i am getting chills just thinking about the other seven tracks. dude, imagine another secret song.....
As i walk through the fire I turn my eyes to see They took us down to the wire But it doesn't matter much to me Into the badlands we ride To a place they'll never get you They know there's nowhere to hide Behind the walls of Shockwave City As the clouds struck on midnight They turn their eyes to see The flicker of the screen light It was never gonna let them be Into the darklands we fall To an emptiness there waiting They have their chains on us all Behind the walls of Shockwave City Shockwave City Shockwave City Shockwave City Shockwave City Shockwave City Shockwave City Shockwave City Shockwave City
All good brotherman. I had my 13 year daughter listen to dead eyes of london and she loved it. There is still hope in this world. Keep rocking little brother!
I am 47 and this is one of my favorite bands. I have introduced this music to various people of wildly different ages on twitch and almost everyone loves them.
I love this band, not just for their albums but also for playing one of the best shows ive ever seen (psycho 2016) ! but dude, i have to ask... WHERE IS THE BASS??? Since Night Creeper they've been cutting the lower end of these amazing albums relentlessly and I feel that my enjoyment of them has been hindered...anybody agree? thoughts?
I hear the bass fine. The bass is bright and drives the song. You just want heavy distorted bass like the old stuff. But the bass is all over the place on these song and the last album.
To your point I think the production hasn't been to my liking since Mind Control. Because Uncle Acid is one of the best bands in the world, I'll deal with it. I do wish I could hear more overall bass in their recorded music, I've also seen them live and it's incredible because you can hear the bass and drums. I wish they went the same route Sleep went with The Sciences album.
s I walk through the fire I turn my eyes to see They took us down to the wire But it doesn't matter much to me Into the badlands we ride To a place they'll never get you They know there's nowhere to hide Behind the walls of Shockwave City As the clouds struck on midnight They turn their eyes to see The flicker of the screen light It was never gonna let them be Into the darklands we fall To an emptiness there waiting They have their chains on us all Behind the walls of Shockwave City
@Whistle Rymes Yeah. I mean I love Night Creeper and all but its honestly their weakest album so far. Lots of killer but also a decent amount of filler. They honestly (for me personally) hit their peak with Mind Control and started slowly going down from there.
This album is their second best one I'd say. Bloodlust is the best of course. But this has such a different feel I could see some people liking this better depending what kind of rock fan they are. This album has more shorter straightforward songs and just a different vibe altogether.
It sounds like a lot of compression, with a touch of chorus thru a lower quality microphone. Really capturing that low fi sound you'd find in any early 1970s English hard rock/early metal recording
Holy fuck I love this. I liked Night Creeper and Mind Control, but this is way better. I dig how they stray from stoner/doom sound and show more powerpop/blackened rock/psychedelic rock vibe.
I am 58 years old. I just found home again.
Have you heard their other albums? Bloodlust is probably the best but Mind Control and The Night Creeper are pretty good too. I haven't listened to Vol. 1 much though.
ha ha ,im 54 and just bought tickets to see them in MARCH
I'm 58 years old as well just found them this morning!!!
@Krushing Pussy I'll have to take the time to get into it. It seemed like it had a real British 60s feel or something which isn't as much my thing. I like the hard rock and metal more. But I'll give it another shot.
I whish you 58 years more!
2:24 = baller riff.
Uncle Acid are currently the best band of entire galaxy!
No shit. I am going to see them in March and the tickets are so reasonably priced. tD

They sound like if there was metal in 1967. Very cool style.
if the beatles began playing metal....
Hahah, sounds like neither of you have heard Helter Skelter, then. ;)
@@sup3rsmash8 you mean I want you(she`s so heavy) ?
Lmao the Beatles? Try more like Black Sabbath. Or even 13th Floor Elevators... Apparent in some of their more psychedelia heavy songs.
Nice point of view.
Today is a good day. Today is Uncle Acid Day.
This was one of the tracks I never listened to before and didnt know how good it was.

Thank you, Uncle Acid, for being the voice of a dystopian universe. \m/

Fuck yeah this is what I want to listen. These days you can't appreciate music like this thanks uncle acid... I'm a big fan of you guys
Uncle Acid videos always have the fucking coolest visuals.
imho this is their best song to date.
I need a record player with vinyl about NOW!
One of my favourite songs by them right now, would love if someone made TABS at last! Can't wait to rock my whole neighbourhood by playing this.

Saw them in Asheville NC, the floor felt like I was in an ocean wave, they made sure they boiled all the skin off the skull
Feb 2019? I was there, too. What a good live band man!
Ahhhhhh welcome back
Its great to hear them evolving their sound while keeping it at the same time. So EVIL
Anything these guys put out is pure fucking gold!
Love the new level of vocal harmonies!
Doom boogie from an uncle on acid 🤘🏻😝🤘🏻.👍🏻
I didn't dig this album as much as the others when it dropped but after I've had some time with it it's grown on me. Killer disc.
Seen this band as guest of GHOST in Paris on 18th of april 2022.
Good music, they sound like the fabulous Hawkwind with a metal sound, I like it !
Goddamn righteous
Holy shit! I'm ready for this.
There's a bit of NWOBHM feel to this, I think. Very nice.
In fact, this whole album is like an ode to NWOBHM. Blood Runner a good example of it.
Love the riff until 2:13, then I love the riff even more when it mutates.
Always looking forward to their album. Awesome band of 21st Century 🤘
