Thank you for inviting me to participate in this big celebration collaboration, Fine! Now to sit back and take notes for some great recommendations from everyone!
@@elidavis9538 yay! I’m glad you got some great recommendations 🥳 I’m excited for dungeon crawler Carl. Got myself the audiobook during the recent audible sale!
Not me bugging Jake about recommending one of his faves this year for 2025 specifically only to find out that's the approach most of the booktubers here took! 🤣💀
@FineReads its been awhile since I've read it so watching that back...I am now less sure thats what its about 🤣 I think I hit the general vibe though lol
@@Axxis270 I 100% agree. Same with many popular authors. They are all great and their books are a blast to read. But there’s so much else out there 🥰 (also, I think the Brandon Sanderson love is a bit exaggerated right now due to book 5 🤣). I’m glad you enjoyed this list! And if you do like videos with less popular books and authors, that’s my jam. So, feel free to subscribe ☺️ fair warning though, I am going to read Mistborn for the first time starting January 🤣
My recommendation for 2025 is split between my two favorite reads of 2024: «A Brightness Long Ago» by Guy Gavriel Kay (Fantasy inspired by the Mercenary Wars of Renaissance Italy) & «Imperium» by Robert Harris (Historical Fiction, book #1 in Cicero Trilogy about the Eponymous Roman Statesman)! As for myself, I am most excited to read two upcoming books in 2025: «Doom of Destiny» (Sundered Nation #3) by Vaughn Roycroft (Epic/Historical Fantasy inspirert by the Historical Ancient Goths and the Rohirrim of Tolkien, with a dash of «Dune») and «Written in the Dark» by Guy Gavriel Kay (Fantasy inspired by Medieval France)!
I’m so mad and sad 😭 I missed the chance to be in this. I would have told everyone to read Sky’s End by Marc J. Gregson, book 2 comes out in January and it’s so good.
@@FineReads Here's the reading order - The Hallowed Hunt "Penric's Demon", approximately 150 years after The Hallowed Hunt "Penric and the Shaman" "Penric's Fox" "Masquerade in Lodi"[8] "Penric's Mission" "Mira's Last Dance" "The Prisoner of Limnos" "The Orphans of Raspay" "The Physicians of Vilnoc" The Assassins of Thasalon "Knot of Shadows" "Demon Daughter" "Penric and the Bandit" The Curse of Chalion, approximately 100 years after the Penric novellas Paladin of Souls, a few years after The Curse of Chalion The audiobooks for the Penric stories are excellent.

While I enjoy Brandon Sanderson's work, it's refreshing to see a list that doesn't include his name for a change.
