My favorite part of Game of Thrones was people in rooms talking so I loved this episode. Bring on those plots and schemes, even though they are the same thing lol

Yeah I thought this episode was fairly strong as well, I was pretty interested by everything going on even if almost the whole episode was just people talking. A little disjointed at a couple times, still very interesting

I’ve always appreciated the slower moments where we just got conversations in the early seasons of GOT! So I liked this episode.
My only gripe is the Harrenhal stuff...I feel that the visions and the dreams have overstayed its welcome. Daemon just needs to hurry up and get out of that damn castle and I'm sure that Harrenhal is driving Caraxes crazy as well! 😆

@@peezyorpj I agree. The season is too short for all this. If they wanna give us more young rhaenyra that’d be awesome but they could just give Emma the flashbacks of her youth for that lol

@@bloodandempire If this season had 10 episodes instead of 8, the Harrenhal story arc would’ve been more forgiving since they could’ve had more time to flesh out Daemon’s story this season.
Overall, I like this season so far, but you can definitely tell that the writers strike from last year sort of had an impact on certain parts of this show.

This is no where close to early GOT. Compare the scenes with rhaenyra and her council with any small council scene from GOT season 1, the quality isn't even close

    • @idawg7332
      @idawg7332 2 місяці тому

@@peezyorpj Writers strike had no impact, they film in the U.K., filming was still going on during the strike. The issues with the season are because several main characters like rhaenyra and alicent aren't really doing anything during this part of the book because the book is mainly describing battle scenes that are happening offscreen in the show. Now the same thing happened in early GOT but it worked there because they had martin's writing to work off of to fill in the gaps. Here these new writers have to make it up for themselves and it doesn't always work.

I think Aemond simps and Tywin simps are the same people which is disgusting really. You people simp the worst people and justify everything they do while pretending the story isnt telling you that these people are the worst people to have in a position of power.

Idk I kind of think Aemond isn't as much of a villain as people want to think he is. In the show he's kind of portrayed as the most competent and capable person suited for wielding power. Daemon however I think is actually quite the villain, he's an unreliable loose canon to his family and honestly quite incompetent and reckless.

Aemond has always been who HE is, a mother knows her child so I understand everything his mother said.
To me Aemond isn’t scary, he’s insecure and revengeful.
That is what people fear, you give someone like him any type of power and most people will be in fear of what he will do to show his power.
Even as a child, people forget he grabbed a rock during a fistfight and beat his own family members first but once a knife came into play people forgot who stared it all.
He was wrong in that whole situation yet neither parent disciplined him or made him aware of where he was totally wrong.
He stole a dragon while his family was grieving a death , he wanted revenge for an eye he lost rightfully as you don’t bring a rock to a knife fight.
Instead of moving on he chased his nephew to death due to his own anger and insecurity .
Wasn’t remorseful and didn’t care about the consequences and was the reason the war was unavoidable at that point .
Then purposely burnt his own brother to get the throne.
He’s like those villains who wants to be a villain so bad, meanwhile Daemon is a villain because that is who he truly is at heart. It’s natural for him, it’s not about being teased as a child over not having a dragon YET..
He doesn’t have to act or pretend, he didnt have to burn his own brother for power.
He’s not curling up like a baby due to mommy issues.
Aemond is not a villain, he’s just a boy who couldn’t take a joke as a child thats now out to prove himself because he wants revenge from childhood bullying.. as if non of us were teased by a sibling or a cousin as a child .
I just never understood why he took it so personally when that was normal behavior from childhood.
The only thing that is not normal is his parents lack of love and affection and if that’s why he’s a villain then fine..
He’s just not scary to me, more annoying than anything. And can’t be trusted under no circumstances whatsoever lol

Why do we get to see so many of Daemons dreams, yet we don’t get to see Helaenas dreams. Just some drawings. All these scenes of Daemon, what about up North where they started the episode? What about where Otto went. Fine with an episode that slows down but the same scenes repeating the same theme as the ones before. Come on. And then the last 5/10 minutes just flipping through to different people being broody, or saying one line. That just looked like scenes they didn’t know where to place.

This was a very good episode. All the character moments really shined, especially Jace and Baela cementing themselves as major players on team black. I also loved everything with Daemon as he spirals further into hallucination at Harrenhal and his interactions with Alys. The concept of dragon seeds officially coming into play at the end was also solid 👍

I think a filler is an episode that could be left out completly and nothing would change, like the hunting trip in S01. So far I LOVE every episode of S02, the dialog has improved a lot, the pacing, so far no Daemon Anime Runs or Masskillings that go by unnoticed, quiet the opposite here I might say. To me, I pretend that Rhaenys escaped differently and then everything makes a lot more sense to me. Can't wait for next week!

I think the showrunners honestly did not even think about the people that Rhaenys killed when she came through the floor. They were focused on whether or not she killed the 'important' people, the greens, the elites, the royals. The so-called small folk were just props, the same way they are props to so many people in their show.

Alicent in my eyes is a perfect archetype of the conservative, dutiful woman who spends her life upholding traditional values and literal traditions and history, only for her to be either punished or cast aside by the very institution she’s spent her entire life upholding. And the thing is? I felt the worst FOR her out of any of the very flawed women we’ve been shown in the on screen universe. She’s not openly hateful or deceitful, she’s done everything she’s been told to do, her entire life, no matter how much it traumatized or cost her. By having no other choice but to cling to the laws of male primogeniture, she’s done everything that was expected of her, only to have her be reminded that they’re literally fighting a war over the idea that a woman cannot be a ruler, so she cannot under any circumstances become regent, especially in wartime. So she winds up with no power and no freedom, not even sexual freedom, despite the fact that she doesn’t have any real power, because she still has the responsibilities of upholding religious and institutional ideals. I loved watching over these first five episodes whether or not she’s wearing any religious iconography, like her many necklaces with the seven pointed star because it’s just more insight into her state of mind.

    • @Milwaukhehe
      @Milwaukhehe 2 місяці тому

I would just say that this is what Alicent wanted as the reward for doing her "duty" in S1 so her being left out is karma. I dont really feel all that badly for her because she was the one who was Rhaenyras friend, she was the one who could have killed the resentment between her & Rhaenyras sons when they were young and chose to hold a grudge over something that wasnt her business to begin with, Alicent chose power over her friend and here we are.

Sorry, but I did not enjoy this episode. (I know is setup but.)
What happened? Why make the Freys like that? In the Dance, they were fiercely loyal to Rhaenyra, one of the first houses to declare for her in the Riverlands.
Also, what the hell? Just call them dragonseeds, which is not what Jace and Rhaneyra were talking about.
Also, what is happening with Rhaenyra? Stop whining and start acting like a queen. Maybe send Jace North leading men showing the future king, or you and let your Hand rule from Dragonstone. Don't go complaining, Rhaenyra, when people don't respect you if you don't lead. You don't do shit. Lead, and show people you are the king. Quoting Tywin here: Anyone has to say I'm the King is no true King'. Queen in this case.

We need to see her make mistakes, make rash decisions, holding back and making a fool out of herself before she eventually grows into the leader she is expected to be. And of course, to grow into becoming Maegor With Tits the more she loses. It's called a character arc and they are showing us all her flaws so that when she does become a cruel tyrant we understand why. So let her make her blunders. She's human
