A childhood friend had an emergency operation last February and didn't make it through. This was the last thing he posted on his Facebook, he was a great drummer. This song means a lot when remembering his awesome soul. Amazing band!
I enjoyed these songs (I mean Mastodon in general) so much during the initial lockdown in 2020. I was asked to work from office as i was a mission critical resource. I used to work night shifts, my office was about 2km from my place and I didn't have my own vehicle so I used to walk everyday to office listening this song. The roads were dead empty... Not one being in sight, the only vehicle on the road were either a police car or ambulance van. Office looked like haunted palace coz there were like 5-6 people in place that holds a couple of thousands. Wierd times!! But I'll fondly remembered it thanks to Mastodon ❤️❤️
For those that are crying about old Mastodon this and that, I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy the musical journey Mastodon is taking me on, and will take me on, while you make yourselves miserable over it.
I am with you. I like bands that do not play what their audience wants, They play what they want. A band get a hit, they go to that well until it is dry. Boring. If Mastodon kept making Oblivion or Curl of the Burl it would have been just the same. But this band will NOT do that. I appreciate it.

Matthew DiBernardo hes actually really appreciated in a certain part of the metal drum scene, he even had the honor of being in a drum battle and playing with Danny Carey of Tool
I can see what the world has done to you I can feel the weight, feel the weight I can see what this life has handed you I can feel the weight, feel the weight This time, this time, things'll work out just fine We won't let you slip away This time, this time, things'll work out just fine We won't let you leave this way If you want you can will it You can have it I can put it right there in your hands I can hear what the spirits are telling you I can clear the weight, clear the weight I can see all the wolves as they circle you I can crush the weight, crush the weight This time, this time, things'll work out just fine We won't let you slip away This time, this time, things'll work out just fine We won't let you leave this way If you want you can will it You can have it I can put it right there in your hands This time, this time, things'll work out just fine We won't let you slip away This time, this time, things'll work out just fine We won't let you leave this way If you want you can will it You can have it I can put it right there in your hands
If I can thank anything from the Facebook trending status, it's for overloading my feed with this band's bizarre music video to this song. I'm glad I gave in, because this band is unfairly awesome.
I hated this band. I was listening to Full Metal Jackie and she played Steambreather and I couldn't believe it was the same band and now I'm having to listen to everything before Emperor of Sand. This band is awesome. They definitely have their shit together.
I have this friend who tried to get me into liking her music. Showing me various bands. Slipknot. Pantera. Ghost. All kinds. And at the time I liked some of the songs. But then she showed me this song. This specific song right here was the turning point. I liked the other songs just fine. I loved this song so much on my first listen. Listening to just the first few seconds already made me love it. This song is so important to me. Now I've listened to just about every Mastodon song I could find. I love Mastodon. Mastodon is my favorite band now. I absolutely love their music. And now I'm slowly starting to listen to more outside of Mastodon. But I will always be the most comfortable with these dudes. I just wanted to share my appreciation for Mastodon, and my good friend who shared this wonderful song. I know everyone has opinions on this album and Empire Of Sand. I love them all but I so why EOS is a weaker album, not a bad album though. And Hushed and Grim, never been so excited for an album to release. And it delivered so well. Long live Mastodon. (And yes Crack The Skye is absolutely incredible. I can't make this post without mentioning that masterpiece of an album)
@@Tyr1001 Ghost was the first one she showed me originally because it's her favorite band. So while I agree Mastodon is better, I can't deny the fact Ghost has some great songs.
Same thing kidna happened with me. I enjoyed bands like Metallica and Dream Theater, but i didn't get into REALLY heavy metal until i heard Bring Me The Horizon. They opened it up for me to listen to heavier bands, and now here i am listening to this.
@@zakkarystory2352 My friend showed me Pull Me Under by Dream Theater right after this song and it was my favorite night for music. Absolutely love that song as well. Wish I could go back to that night.
My favorite part is the bridge before the guitar solo, specifically the second section where it goes down the low G string. I don't know why it just sounds so good

I love Mastodons mix of Metal, Hillbilly, Outer Space and Groove.
B Real , I’m glad u put it that way!!! Thought provoking !
Ah yes, the four genders
Motherdon - The Mastoload
That guitar solo is one of the best in modern rock. A real face-melter
And I needed to listen to it again. Like I needed to, any day.
I know right, the songs sounds something from the 1990s, early-2000s
Never heard a Mastodon song before.... What a beaut this band is.
Unbelievably good. Song is helping me get through a really dark place right now.. Lyrics are incredible.
I hope you’re okay now!
You doing ok?
OH HE DEAD
I've been sleeping on Mastadon. That was a critical error on my part. So good
Me too... They're SO good!!
Guilty of the same crime, Sir 🙋♂️
Same, but at least we get to devour their entire catalogue at once now!
Leviathan, Blood Mountain, and Crack the Skye are a bit harder to get into than some of the newer albums but once you do they’re very rewarding.
Critical but easily corrected everyone stay safe.
This song works out just fine.
They sure didnt let me leave without a good time.
Definitely worth not letting slip away.
It absolutely puts it right there in your hands.

It really did chushed the weight life have put on me

I'm new - checking out different songs of theirs here on UA-cam. It all sounds good to me so far, more of a range than I expected.
I haven't liked anything they've done since Remission, but luckily for me, I've never been a cryer.
You only liked Remission? Wow...
The fusion of sounds from 3 minutes onwards is just unbelievably good. Hard to believe. This song is incredible.
That chorus is divine
Not sure what's abused more here, Brann's snare drum or my replay button
One of the tracks that I listen to that ease me into a peaceful state - Bedtime tunes. Puts me in the right state of mind.

I've put the lyrics so people can read them and interpretate in their own way, I don't like Mastodon's video or maybe I just don't understand it.
