Great video again, and I appreciate your thoughtful and detailed explanation of each of your choices. My next purchases will be the one-finger clutch mod and the tail tidy from Camel ADV, but will also end up with the same pannier racks you have! For your bike, I think you will discover, sooner or later, the value of some real hand guards! I went with the ones that Barkbusters made specifically for the T7, purchased right near you from Procycle. Cheers, and ride safe!

I really like your pannier racks. I wish that Rally Raid made those for a KTM 890 Adventure. :(

Thanks for taking the time and sharing, wonderful points, look forward to more T7 variety videos! From CT, USA. BTW I added a GPS waterproof case today and took steps to stabilize a shifting tank bag setup, so far so good.

You could have used front lower crash guard which comes out from the bike where they come out so that you can rest your foot some times on it. That helps also to keep the bike at an angle (rather than being flat ) whenever it falls on the ground. That also protects the other plastic panels and , may be levers and engine sometimes. But I liked your front upper guards and cute little pannier racks

Love the channel! I’m 63 and heading into retirement soon and looking to learn about motocamping as my foot neuropathy is hindering my longish hikes. I have read about the T7 and amazing quality. Also interested in the Honda 300 Rally, but hard to find one. KLR is also a possibility. Stoked about the future minus supply chain issues.

The T7 is a bit tall and top heavy. My major complaint as is others.

Finally you lowered the T7 ! fantastic ...but you did not lower it enough !
I bought a CSC RX4 with a 31" seat height and it was too tall for my 30" inseam...
I lowered it front and rear 2" YOU should do the same ! safety is paramount in the woods and you have to be able to flat foot both feet ! if you can't you will fall over many times.
... I built a jack to raise my bike as it's 450lbs and although I lifted it once I don't think I could do it again ! it's heavy ! thank you for the review on the jack you use as I made mine just like it and in theory it should work fine ! .... you're a fellow old codger that rides ! and I commend you for that....do your own maintenance ! no one cares for your bike like you will !
...keep riding neighbor ! sorry about your experience in Mt Shasta.... everyone around here goes to outlying camp grounds, those up there are occupied by the homeless/transient's
try the one by castle lake when you get a chance !
    ....
    Bob.....

Thanks for the comments. I can flat foot now. I would not want to lift a 450# often either. Especially on a slope! Hence my moto-winch.

Great video and setup! Reminds me about how I want my T700. Still, I haven't got crashbars yet and that outlet for USB at the rear was great 👍Gonna do a similar solution.

In buying my BMW GS 1250 Adventure, I got the lowered version. I’m 5’11”, but have a very short inseam (30”), so a 34”+ height just wasn’t going to work for me. I have less clearance on the bike, but I’m not planning on hopping huge logs/rocks and so the current spacing is perfect for me.

And I was thinking that its my short height due to which I feel the need to lower the bike seat height, no I was wrong. It the age ( BTW I am 62+) and following you as me too have re-venturing the bike rides now after 60s and enjoying it more due more and more gadgets, Tech items are available which were not when we were younger. I am literally finding many things (problems / feelings) in common as to what you come across and mine even though the bikes we have are different but latest ones (made in 2021- Yamaha though)

Which dealer did you get your bike from? I live just north of you in Bend and have been trying to get a T7 for two years now. I’ve offered a deposit and even the cash up front without success. Any suggests? Also, I love your thoughtful and interesting vids!

    • @MySeniorMoments

Waterworld in Medford. I put down deposit in December 2020 and the bike arrived 6 months later! Difficult to get, as why I bought it sight unseen.

Great tips , sure enjoy your channe ,l like drone footage is my ❤️ I used to live in that area I love Grants Pass . I've driven all the way to the tip of Baja in a 4 wheel drive it's amazing ! you're gonna love it . Zero parking meters on the coast as soon as you leave T.J. aaahhh so nice. Locals are so friendly . Avocados picked fresh every night we camped.

Did you have any cable/wire length problems or handle bar clearance issue with the new risers?

In which way is it Safe to operate a drone from your motorcycle; I thought this was about safety improvements you made to your T7. Just puzzled about that drone thing.

I don't operate the drone while I'm riding like Itchy Boots. I'm parked.

I dumped my Tenere 700 on the right side after having it for a month. I have the same one that you have. I see that you were able to get the grey and yellow Tenere 700 decal for the side panel. Would you mind sharing where you got it? I have been trying to get a replacement and while the part number is correct, the part is not. The dealer has been trying to get the correct one but no luck yet.

    • @MySeniorMoments

I had the same problem. The dealer ordered the decals but got the wrong color. They have not been able to get the gray and yellow so mine is now covered with my crash bar bags.

Why did you choose a T700?

    • @MySeniorMoments
      @MySeniorMoments  Рік тому +1

It looked like a good blend between off-pavement and on-pavement capabilities. It’s a good bike but more aggressive than what I need so I will likely downsize at some point, perhaps to a KTM390.
