Invasion nodes are honestly pretty great and pretty much the first I take in tirn's end, and I tend to also focus on Tirn's end as one of my first regions as it just gives a lot of various things that are useful early on and saves you time from having to trade. For example currency drops are usually in stacks of 5-10 depending on what it is, six links are fairly common as are random scarabs. You also get 2-3 per map usually and an extra 10 silver coins, 6 fusins and 4 gemcutters for example is pretty solid as something you just get from a non juiced map. And of course if you play ssf the nodes are even more powerful and probably one of the best ways to get an early six link.
I did Exotic Goods this league. It's actually good. No juicing is required; you can just run a normal map and still get 1-4 invasion bosses; no sextants, prophecies, or watchstones are needed. The real benefit is it doesn't take actual time. With Abyss, you need to run after the Abyss, and potentially clear an entirely different area. Here, you find an Invasion boss, you kill it, (they don't have boss-level HP) and it drops something. The things they drop don't always pass a decent loot filter, but you're getting something from this in most maps. I also don't think it cares that much about map tier. It doesn't scale well, though, or synergise with anything. There's no way to increase rewards that actually matter. I think it pairs well with any map strategy that involves spamming bosses or zooming through maps because you don't feel bad if you don't find the per-map bonus. You're just running through the map, and finding an invasion every so often.
In case you weren't aware. Stygian vise's should drop at item level 86 when in a tier 16 abyssal depth. The abyssal depth itself is 84 plus the stygian drop off of unique boss technically so that adds two to the item level.
I've had been using the invasion nodes. And GGG is not lying about a wide range of things. I have found fossils, helms with uber lab enchants (40% dmg ect), stacks of 5 chaos but you can also find garbage. The first node is a little misleading, however. I have noticed that on average there are 2-3 invasion boss's per map. Sometimes you get the one like it says. But I have had 4 in one map without using any crafted wtachstones. The 4 nodes together are vastly superior to the nodes that give the hoards more currency. Those are the worst 2 nodes on the entire atlas imo. It's so bad you can't even tell it does anything. At least with the invasion nodes you can tell something is happening. But that is the problem. You don't have enough points to take those 4 nodes by dropping the 2 in the abyss section. Personally, I like taking the delirium nodes along with the beastiary nodes. Focus mostly on the beast part and consider it a lucky map to see a mirror. I mean ya, you crafted a few belts and came out alright. But I don't wanna mess with that. And abyss kind of sucks to do imo.
Hey I did the crafting on stream a while ago now and the vod has expired so I don't have any clips but basically I crafted on 5 stygian vises. I spent 90c to buy 30 pristine fossils and single socket resonators (2c/pristine, 1c/resonator). I crafted 4 mediocre belts and 1 decent one. It took about a week but all 5 belts have sold now and I made 2ex, 45c, 30c, 30c, 25c from the 5. Hope that helps.
Actually no, don't assume stygian vise because it's a guaranteed lich fight, belts only get one extra mod at ilvl86 which is T1 wed, not only that's like 1% overall increased of damage which isn't people would pay for, frankly if you are an highend attack build you will use headhunter anyway, this little extra juice on stygian vise worth very little. The abyssal jewels however, have potential to sell for insane amount, I'm talking about the accuracy stacking abyss jewel, go check what the price a T1 accuracy (T1 appear on ilvl 85 +) + %accuracy jewel is.
