Please, as someone who gets bored grinding endgame rather quickly I feel like I never get that hook that many others have had with this game and I think it is due to my lack of understanding of what the game is wanting me to do which feels very unclear and punishing for not knowing everything to do involving maps

Never before and never since have I played a game that made me feel like the things I learned matter and made me a better player. Enjoy the journey!
I've been playing PoE since 2015 and I do not agree with this comment. Not everyone who plays PoE will ever get truly "better" as they play, as some people (such as myself) plateau at a certain point and realize late in their gaming experience with PoE that they have no interest in the "min-max" culture of gaming. I can't stand the mapping system and have always avoided it. I didn't originally start playing PoE to speed-run a bunch of complicated maps that took a Masters Degree to figure everything out to the finest damned detail. Unfortunately, there is scarcely any content out there for more casual players like myself. I'm hoping this helps someone else who may be frustrated with this hyper-detail-oriented culture of gaming we are in these days.

People have pushed the endgame meta to mindless insanity and you don’t have to take part in it to enjoy the game. Do your thing and have fun.

I didn’t know the portal times out so a couple times I had to clear an area again. Hey Woolie. I've been playing POE since open beta and I have 10s of thousands of hours in and I wanted to say I really appreciate this guide. You really did a good job with your explanations. As with everything in POE you could have gone into more detail but that probably would have been way too much for newer players so I liked that you kept it simple as possible and really pushed for people to use the community tools that have been created to help them. Thanks for this video.
A point that _really_ could use some stressing: Global chat can make this game so much more fun. Find a community to play with, I found one through a random global channel I joined. It means you can share progress, pog out at super rare items and laugh at other people's misery as they poof a third headhunter. All-round great times. It elevated my enjoyment of the game from an 8 to a solid 11/10. The community aspect of PoE is not to be underestimated.
would love to see a guide on how as an experienced player, you approach POE end game. What do you prioritize? How do you make early league currency (heist during campaign/after)? What initial and proceeding atlas passive trees do you favor? Etc. Probably biggest thing for most early-ish players would be if you have limited time, what tends to bring the biggest bang for the buck since POE really demands a lot of the player's time, which not everyone can give. Great guide, and best luck with baby Woolie!

It felt clunky and awkward when I played all that time ago and I just went back to Diablo. After this past week of playing I don't think I can ever go back to Diablo. I'm currently in Act 5 and have been having so much fun progressing and every time I get a new piece of gear or a passive skill that seems to make my build even more broken, it makes me feel like I'm getting away with something I shouldn't be allowed to... it's AWESOME. DO NOT follow build guide. Especially on your beginnings - you will lose 50% of fun. They created that tree for a reason - to give us something to analyze, plan, think and execute. Just type in section above tree what You need like res, bow, strenght, sword, two handed, minions or whatever and go there while takin some life, res and damage on the way. You will see what you lacking during game. Don't be afraid of choosing nodes, just go for it. In this game satisfaction of tryin to create your build and make it work is UNMATCHED. Don't let yourself be fooled that You can't do it without years of study and only minmaxing no life ghuls which never go out of their basements analazying every aspect of PoE are able to do it and You are hopeless without them. That is a lie. It's easier than it looks, just read things during the game and if you don't know what something means check help info inside PoE. Try it YOURSELF and thank me later. Cheers!
Today I start the game and I chose the Witch and I love it. I never put the other build în my build. Never. Not even în Warframe. It take all the fun if u copy-past the build. Ur comment îs True 100%.

What's a Divine....very, rare for me ! Very good guide especially on Trade Guide...you did a better job explaining the mechanics of it than any other "BI'G name" streamer, YT influencer" !
I understand the importance of build guide, but it kinda defeat the purpose of me "playing" a game. It feels like a task at work, which I am trying to get away from lol I am still only lvl 19, and patiently reading my way through creating a 2H melee build. Will I regret later on by playing the game casually, and by "feel" only? I mean, I try to be logical with my build as I go through it, I just don't feel like tinkering with strict guides and be told what to do. I game for freedom, enjoyment, discovery.
As with any game in this style genre there are 2 paths. Casual: more relaxed. Just have fun trying to create builds and see how far they can get. The campaign can easily be completed this way. Endgame: this is where the best builds and players test the meta at the highest levels. Wanna get the hardest boss in the game on farm and one shot God's. This is the path to take.
@@nevekkree84 No no no. Those aren't true paths. The end game built is created at...end game. You at no point during the campaign need to follow aa build guide step by step. You play the campaign then one you understand the basics can create the build that works for the content you are making. Killing everything 30ms faster is not a requirement
As a poe vet i laughed the second you brought up armor and evasion lol because good luck describing it to a new player without saying "sort-of" or "kind-of" 100 times
I haven't played the game before but am looking into it. Should I play poe1 or poe2? For a complete new player who is just interested in the character building idea
It's a game that is very much not made for casuals. Most new people (I say this as a new player, and by that I mean I have 200 hours in the game) will need a few attempts at getting into it. If you remember your first time playing well (and listen to his essential instructions, trust me), then your second attempt at getting into it will have you caring more. And so and until youre either hooked or entirely sure that the game isn't for you.
Played about five years ago and didn’t follow a guide and reached end game ok. No real problem but before poe2 comes out gonna play again. Think I’ll follow a guide this time as I know I have it in me to figure it out myself but want to get as powerful as I can without too much thinking haha. Cool vid mate.
Great info! Knowing how to proceed after getting into red maps is my current progression wall. However, I never really knew how to use Poe ninja like you described, so hopefully that’ll be the extra info I need to keep chugging. Like, once I’ve got good res/life, I don’t always know what to go for next. And like, sometimes, when I think I’ve got an idea, the freaking prices are outrageously high. But yes, endgame woolie tutorial next pls
Great guide. My notes: Don't have them download a filter, instead have them SUBSCRIBE to a filter. That way it gets auto updated every time they log in.
Anyone got other places for builds that work with Path of Building? Im wanting to do a proper minion build that isnt just flaming skulls or corpse explosion, and maxroll just seems to be super limited in options.

only problem w the build suggestions is that the site only has like 10 build for starters and not even every character j stuck now bc i forced myself to go witch but noe regretting it but dont know where to get duelist builds from that aren't like 2 years old
You need, Need, NEED to make more POE content. Ziz is great and all, he knows what he's doing for being informative and teaching, but holy shit I fall asleep to his near monotone lmao. How you format your shit, especially with the new change, is so good and is what I need. I'm just a fledgling exile (about 200h) and NEED good info to help me get better. When someone got me to finally play through getting to maps n shit (played cobra lash in sentinel, good shit, so fun) I ended up disenfranchised from the "just lightly copy a build and then just buy it" type gameplay, didn't fulfill me, so I recently started standard ssf (don't know how frequent I'll play, I'll get back into leagues when I know more). SOOOO After your endgame basic guide and whatever else you wanna talk about before getting deeper into shit, I would love a moderately detailed series of each of the league mechanics, cause like I only have a slim understanding of how to go deep in any of them at all (mostly my current preferred, heist), and will probably stick with SSF, so knowledge is the #1 most important thing for me to have. Also a quick note for clarification because I had to look it up just now, just having a public account wont help import your character to POB, you need to uncheck "Hide Characters Tab"
Righteous Fire is the best Starting build because it turns HP, Resistances and life Regen into damage. you can just stand there menacingly, on fire, and things die. just Shield Charge across the whole map. and it can come online at act 3!
Give this man a medal! Everything is sooo well explained and I love the humor. I can relate to this since I level 60 Guardian and I kind fcked up my stats hahaha. This guy gave me the headspace to build it right on the next playthrough! Like and subscribe folks!
I’ve been going back to these older games that I have never played but I started with guild wars 2 and I have played every single day since I downloaded it right before Christ. Was looking for a good beginner guide for my friend and all of them are either 3 hours long or gloss over too much. This is the video ill be showing anyone that wants to get into poe from now on. Thank you
Nice guide! Thanks!
havnt played POE in years so watched your vid for pointers and i was lmao so hard this was great
DO NOT follow build guide. Cheers!
Thanks. That's what I've been doing and it's fun. I don't care if I'm the best I know I'll never have time foe that
ty!
Yep! I completely agree. Tutorial was helpful but I think don’t worry about “following a build” it kills creativity and fun
Today I start the game and I chose the Witch and I love it.
I never put the other build în my build. Never. Not even în Warframe. It take all the fun if u copy-past the build. Ur comment îs True 100%.
Is it easy/possible to respec?
Hey man, thanks for the guide, I've only ever reached maps once, because my characters seem to become useless by act 7 or so. I'll definitely try a beginners guide and would love a more end game focussed one :)
Me and my wife have played PoE for 4000 hours each. We didn't know about ~ until now. Thank you.
Dude , just wanted to say thx. I struggle every league . I follow a guide and just leave after kitava. This time i was searching for help , your guide did the thing ..Currently im swimming trough tier 5 maps easly and progressing the 6/s. haveing lots of fun , thx again
good stuff bruther keep it up!
Great vid, last epoch coverage since full release is coming soon, also side note: the development and community teams behind last epoch really really give a damn about the game they are making , so nice to see. Been with it since is released and the amount of polish and content added is overwhelming .
I now have 3addons and 5programms ... when am i allowed to continue act3?
I'm not much for PoE from the little I've tried, but i definitely might give it a shot again from this.
I'm loving the new style ! Excited for more
What's a Divine....very, rare for me ! Very good guide especially on Trade Guide...you did a better job explaining the mechanics of it than any other "BI'G name" streamer, YT influencer" !
I understand the importance of build guide, but it kinda defeat the purpose of me "playing" a game. It feels like a task at work, which I am trying to get away from lol
I am still only lvl 19, and patiently reading my way through creating a 2H melee build. Will I regret later on by playing the game casually, and by "feel" only? I mean, I try to be logical with my build as I go through it, I just don't feel like tinkering with strict guides and be told what to do. I game for freedom, enjoyment, discovery.
Builds guides are 100% unnecessary for the casual play most people will do. (And I would argue they actively are harmful for most people experience)
Fantastic video, this is the kind of content PoE needs for new players
Cool epic video, hope this blows up sooooon.
omfg... your energy paired with the layout of this guide had me rolling laughing. Thanks for your help :D
ConspiringVillageRat from Chat here... and first of all Congrats on having kid ❤
I will now be installing POE see y'all in 3000 hours...
2 is not out yet and won't be for some time. Start now, regardless (with 1), as it will definitely translate over to 2!
@@Woolie thank you. I had heard about 2 and seen people discussing it so I didn't know if it was fully out yet.
Thanks for the guide mr. streamer
@@trenth7749 Closed beta is sometime mid-this-year, full release not sure about
I kinda gave up on POE when I wanted to try it out but maybe I'll give it another go because this video is suppeerr well put together.
Thanks :)! this video helped a lot especially the trading guide xd
Please create more guides. This is a great breakdown for newcomers!
yooooo woolie and PoE content wasn't on my bingo card but I'm here for it
Played about five years ago and didn’t follow a guide and reached end game ok. No real problem but before poe2 comes out gonna play again. Think I’ll follow a guide this time as I know I have it in me to figure it out myself but want to get as powerful as I can without too much thinking haha. Cool vid mate.
At 1:43 seconds in you have completely talked me out of getting this game Thanks for saving me I'm not sure how much time I may have spent playing it
Huh
@@bmthfan1231 I can explain it better pick any video on my page to ask me again what isn't clear to you about my statement.
Just got into POE a week ago and woolie drops this, GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG
Great editing! Also petition for a full version of the Human song
This was mad entertaining. Preciate you
Thank you woolie, very helpful. I would love more POE content.
I stopped playing before character creation because literally every name I could think of was taken.
XDDDDDDDDDDDD
Such a great video dense with info and easily understandable, this will be great for learners!
Great guide.
My notes: Don't have them download a filter, instead have them SUBSCRIBE to a filter. That way it gets auto updated every time they log in.
I hate downloading external programs to play my gymes so much! I think Imma get through this shit...
Anyone got other places for builds that work with Path of Building? Im wanting to do a proper minion build that isnt just flaming skulls or corpse explosion, and maxroll just seems to be super limited in options.
POE newb. I took your pump resistance and HP advice. Thank you kindly.
But i like playing around with lots of skills gems .
Thank you, you have made a new players life easier 😊
Look mannn.. 8've watched.. SEVERAL 'BEFORE YOU PLAY' Vids ... but THIS ONE is Informative .. AAAnd FUNNY! CHOCKED FULL WITH INFO THAT IS EASY TO DIGEST! Now Truthfully.. Ive played POE 1 and Diablo4.. so I Do have Some understanding... but if I DIDDENT... And it Has been some time since I've played but... THIS GUIDE IS SOOOOOOO C L E A R AND EASY TO FOLLOW.. this will me one of my initial go to guides for using Guides and how W R O N G we can be when new, for Early game..!😂 Thanks Man!😂😮😂
Love that harbinger starlight portal. I have the same one and it’s just gorgeous in my hindeout
Thanks for the content. I don't currently play. Building a character through the tree system looks fun and diverse.
What only use 1 skill all the time? Dont that become boring super fast?
only problem w the build suggestions is that the site only has like 10 build for starters and not even every character j stuck now bc i forced myself to go witch but noe regretting it but dont know where to get duelist builds from that aren't like 2 years old
You just earned a subscriber. Thank you for the information.
I'm coming back to this game today, I played it for 200 hours back in 2013 and 2014. It's time
Edit, this video was such a nice welcome to the game
SOOOO
After your endgame basic guide and whatever else you wanna talk about before getting deeper into shit, I would love a moderately detailed series of each of the league mechanics, cause like I only have a slim understanding of how to go deep in any of them at all (mostly my current preferred, heist), and will probably stick with SSF, so knowledge is the #1 most important thing for me to have.
Also a quick note for clarification because I had to look it up just now, just having a public account wont help import your character to POB, you need to uncheck "Hide Characters Tab"
I love your ror2 contnet i just got poe today this video helped alot thanks
Righteous Fire is the best Starting build because it turns HP, Resistances and life Regen into damage.
you can just stand there menacingly, on fire, and things die. just Shield Charge across the whole map. and it can come online at act 3!
Give this man a medal! Everything is sooo well explained and I love the humor.
I can relate to this since I level 60 Guardian and I kind fcked up my stats hahaha. This guy gave me the headspace to build it right on the next playthrough! Like and subscribe folks!
got a couple hrs in the game thanks to this vid. poe 2 looks like its gonna be sick so trying this out in the meantime
Wow, this game out at an extremely convenient time. I just downloaded PoE last night.
Dont be ashamed of you litle steps, we all started same as you long time ago😊.
It's cause they're listening
I’ve been going back to these older games that I have never played but I started with guild wars 2 and I have played every single day since I downloaded it right before Christ. Such a amazing game that is f2p and I love it because it can run on a old potato and use crummy hotspot connection and work just fine. So now it’s time for path of exile.
Nice guide and editing man!
Thanks for this guide, i almost missed the less important factor of this game, the skill tree.
Awesome info for new players. If you aren't intimidated, give this game a try.
I'm not very good at PoE, but TIL you can click on stats in trade to sort descending. BIG WIN.
Amazing guide tons of usefull info, clean and Simple ! U helped me alot thank you !
Hiya!! After loving POE & Diablo for thousands hours of gametime, I think you should cover Dwarven Realms releasing at the end of September, even in its early acess it been a massive blast combining POE-like gearing system combined with Roguelike of Vampire Survivors + Action RPG feeling of BDO in 3rd person being able to animation cancel dashes etc! And the Devs keep pushing out significant updates, changes and fixes daily and the community on discord is really chill and helpful
Great guide, very nicely done
I've never played this game but have heard of it. But UA-cam reccomended strikes again and now I have tons of good info about a game i......might play
