My #1 movie of all time. This movie offers so much & takes you on an incredible journey with an unlikely character. Don't ever judge a person unless you see what they can do. Tom deserved all the awards for the dedication he put into this character.
Gump's voice has become iconic. My friends and I, we sometimes mimic it to crack ourselves, up. The lines in the movie are so sweet at times, that they make me cry.
Well, when you give up your citizenship in America because it’s a crime in America to molest and rape little kids and you move to a country where it’s looked at as a mental health problem the kid would be considered a foreigner to him now. He’s a sick pedophile along with his friend Epstein.
Seriously and it's one of the few movies that actually makes me cry at more than one point and then go back to laughing it's such a beautiful movie. I have pretty vivid memories of being home sick in like third grade watching it on my little probably 12" tube TV with a VHS slot in the front curled up in a blanket on the floor the entire movie because I never had the remote and the pause button didn't work.
The kid that played young Forrest actually came over to my house when I was young. That's back when he was going to college at UNA. It was right before he got sent overseas, I think him and my sister were seeing each other at the time. Very nice guy
Amazing! I can't stop seeing this... Never heard he talking like Forest outside the film. That film touched me so much, and still do, so many years later...
I have seen some unedited versions of Forrest talking to Jenny. The skillful editor was able to change the dialogue of Forrest from a low IQ question to a more philosophical question. Changed the whole perception of the Forrest character, to more zen like.
So many good catch phrases too! Run Forest Run! LIfe is a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get. Naming every kind of way to fix shrimp. So many!!!❤
It's not really genius to copy something. It's talent: great talent at mimicry, great ear. But genius? Actors steal and copy so many things. Some Bad examples are Johnny Depp copying Michael Jackson for his role in Willie Wonka, and - other stuff..

A lot of Mississippians have a diverse and thick accent. If you are born and raised in southeast MS, the dialect has some noticeable French/Cajun influences to it. It’s a hard accent to get right because, like other states, it’s divided into different areas/pockets of people who have been influenced by different cultures over the last couple hundred years. IMO
Are you aware of what "Cajun" means? It comes from a southern bastardization of the word Acadian, who were my ancestors from Nova Scotia area. So if I were telling you this in person, I'd have that accent, only with speed.
@@joeboudreault2226 some of the accents of the south are Scottish or British origin, just slowed down considerably. Same concept as the Cajun/ Acadian accents with the “speech speed”. I’m a South Carolinian going back many generations. But have lived in south Mississippi, central Mississippi, lower Alabama, central Arkansas, plus many other states and countries due to my fathers military service. So I have a keen interest in accents/ languages and their origins. I love how in the south many words that are one syllable every other place in the world become two syllables in the south, just because of the speech-cadence of the accent/culture.
@@joeboudreault2226 As someone from Louisiana, I know the definition of cajun, creole, coon a$$, etc, etc. I've been all over Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi and Arkansas. The accents, local sayings, speed of speech change greatly from one side of the state as well as top to bottom. 1 hours drive from nwla you start picking up a soft cajun accent. 1 hour further, it's definitely notable. By the time you get to Lafayette, you find yourself spelling words just to get around. Mississippi, Louisiana and Texas have the most change in speech pattern & accents than most of the southern states. Come pass a good time and please, eat some greens, okra and grits. Sorry not the same thing the actor had to put a lot of work in to changing his voice and then figure out how he could make it work. I have friends that can run like the wind or play the piano just because an idiot suavizante can do it does not mean my friends are any less talented or should still be recognized and complimented on their talent.
So glad he decided to imitate the kid, because he saved that kid from so much stress trying to change the entire way he spoke

Start with the encyclopedia of fairytales, my grandparents had a set and read almost all of them to us as youngish.
I'm ancient now but still remember and dejuvu often to them in life situations.
It helped me remain calm and/ or understanding at troubled times because of incidents in the fairytales that were similar.
I felt like I had been through this before so it wasn't so strange.
Anyway , then I'd have him read the regular encyclopedia .

I watched this and literally cried. Knowing that he went the extra mile to do the role. Him matching the voice of the young man speaks volume.
No you didn't. You didn't "literally" cry. If you wept because an actor described how he researched a voice he'd used in a role, then you are LITERALLY insane and you need deep psychiatric help!
Here's a tip, go look up the word "literally", because you literally have no idea what it means and how to properly use it!
Yes. Me to. ❤❤

It's the emotions I feel when I watch the movie. And yes I can tell you every word the actors are going to say. But I do that with everything I watch. I guess it's called paying attention and memory. 😁
I've probably watched it three maybe four times. The problem I have with memorable movies is. I remember them to easily. I can not watch Forrest Gump for a decade. Then think about watching it and end up remember the entire movie in great detail. There's no point in me watching a movie that I feel I just watched. I'd be incredibly bored. So movies like this I'll maybe have to wait 15+ years before watching it again.

It is absolutely my favorite when an actor does the voices of thier most famous characters on talk shows & in interviews! I love this so much!
YEAH, mocking people because they have a different accent. Nice
Yet another reason why Tom Hanks is the GOAT and my favorite actor of all time
I like the way he's talking about that kid from Mississippi like he's a foreigner from eastern Europe or something.
Tom is a Hollywood Elitist. He only know how to communicate by virtue signaling.
Ikr
Shit, the rest of the country may as well be the middle east, shit's different
It’s because he’s describing a southern Mississippi accent to Brits on a British talk show who aren’t familiar with American regional accents.
Well, when you give up your citizenship in America because it’s a crime in America to molest and rape little kids and you move to a country where it’s looked at as a mental health problem the kid would be considered a foreigner to him now. He’s a sick pedophile along with his friend Epstein.
A true legend... I love Forrest Gump so much. A movie I have watched so many times.. thank you
Seriously and it's one of the few movies that actually makes me cry at more than one point and then go back to laughing it's such a beautiful movie. I have pretty vivid memories of being home sick in like third grade watching it on my little probably 12" tube TV with a VHS slot in the front curled up in a blanket on the floor the entire movie because I never had the remote and the pause button didn't work.
The book is phenomenal. They left out a ton of stuff. Like in the book Forest goes to space lol
Man! It’s so awesome to see
Tom Hanks doing the Forest voice again.
The mark of a true artist: turn an obstacle into a solution that helps to define a work of genius.
He will rot in hell for being a P3D0.
Man, that's one movie i haven't been able to rewatch many times, makes me cry every single darn time... Such a profound role, Hanks made it perfect.
So many!!!❤
Genius!! That accent is what made the movie what it is❣️
It's not really genius to copy something. It's talent: great talent at mimicry, great ear. But genius? Actors steal and copy so many things. Some Bad examples are Johnny Depp copying Michael Jackson for his role in Willie Wonka, and - other stuff..
I love Tom Hanks! He's such a talented and amazing Actor!!! I love the way he talks in "Forest Gump"! I love that movie and I've watched it a million times!!

Tom making it easier for the boy and adapting his portrayal for him is beautiful.
@@karenannmcmillan2206 I can imagine you telling me "I live-a in an interesting were-wold". Lovely. Thank you.
Many accents are preserved in America that no longer exist in Britain and Scotland where they originated.
I think that may help your disposition.😉
