    This is best video on Mossy Frog care that I have found on UA-cam. I see your not really making videos anymore but I am subscribing in case you start again.

    Do u have anything to change in the filter, if so how often, is it easily accessible, recently found one at local pet store, not sure what set it is, as they didn't know lol, will take a tripe act to find out but it was adorable, really colorful with bright little patches of bright greens mixes, doing lots of research on all frogs and accessories lately, before we decide what we want, type of aquarium. AWESOME Video, happy I came across you.

      Aww thank you so much for the kind words! There are filter cartridges to replace in the particular filter I use for them (I clean it weekly and replace every 2-3 months or so as needed). I do always make sure to leave any filtration easily accessible for maintenance, while still being somewhat hidden, such as behind the big cork tube in this build. In my case, it helps to have small hands and arms lol. I'm so happy to hear you're doing research on frogs. They are fabulous creatures and I wish you luck in your decision of what kind to get!

    Beautiful! Do you think firebelly toads would thrive in this exact set up or is it too much vertical space for them?

      Thank you! There are a lot of mixed opinions on fire bellies, especially claiming they don’t climb. In my experience, I’ve found them to be quite active little climbers, so I personally think a small group would do well in a setup like this as long as there’s enough “dry land” such as the cork tubes, wood, etc. for them to get on.

    Great video and nice set up, I wanna know for how long that you turn on the light, because my moss is dried and I dont want to harm the frogs because they seems not like the bright light and can you add a small fish in the water?.. I really appreciate it if you answer my questions 🙏🏾🙏🏾.. thank you and you got one sub :)

    I am so glad you did this build, now I will be sure to upgrade mine to have a water bottom instead of just bioactive. What filter are you currently using? Also, subscribed to your channel. Cannot wait to watch more content.

      This is the filter I've been using for about 2 years or so with them with no issues.

      How do you clean the water?

    Awesome!! Just got a little guy and wanna give him the best kind of setup. I have a crested gecko and 3 dumpy's so I'm new to paludariums lol. Do you think spring water is okay to use for the tank as long as I provide magnolia and Indian almond leaves to make it tannin rich water? Also, would you recommend any kind of filtration for the water? Thank you for the info!

    • @audreysurbanexotics2619
      @audreysurbanexotics2619  3 роки тому +1

      Of course, my pleasure! I recommend spring water since it lacks harmful contaminants while still containing beneficial (and necessary) minerals. I do recommend filtration, it just depends on the species you’re keeping to determine what type is best 🙂

    this is so great! im thinking of doing a similar background type for my crested gecko enclosure and this video is a huge inspiration! im too paranoid about messing up my tank to do a full spray foam background right away so i want to try building up foam boards like this first and then putting them in his enclosure. do you think you could tell me excatly what kind of foam board you used and why? whats your method of carving the background to make it look so cool? Thanks a bunch!

    • @audreysurbanexotics2619
      @audreysurbanexotics2619  2 роки тому +1

      Don't be afraid! The great thing about foam is it's actually pretty easy to remove/fix if you aren't a fan of how it came out! I have found that I personally like these because they are cheap, easily accessible (at least where I am) and hold up great:
      www.lowes.com/pd/Kingspan-Insulation-Common-1-in-x-2-ft-x-2-ft-Actual-1-in-x-2-ft-x-2-ft-1-R-5-Unfaced-Polystyrene-Foam-Board-Insulation/1000236635
      As far as carving, I use a dremel with a coarse sanding bit, then do layers of various tints of Drylok and Quikrete pigments.

    Are they kinda like dart frogs? A lil bit the same but a lil different with water? Cos I have dart frogs and I have a lil water but it always turns brown cos of misting so you're telling me that all the organic matters that's above the water makes the water brown? That's safe for the Vietnamese mossy?
