Farming in Phedra Suriname ( Dragon Fruit, banana, oranges, etc )
Thanks to Vong for showing us his farm. This young man came here five years ago at the age of 17. He came here with only $100 in his pocket, could not speak the language, and had no family or friends. His parent sold almost everything they had to get him to Suriname. After just a few short years clearing much of his land by hand, and a little bit of help from Lapheng and some of the neighboring and France Guyana Hmong, he has come a long ways. He currently owns a small house, van, several hectors of producing farm land, and started a new family. An incredible young man that has made a new life for himself in this new land.

Thank you, this is a beautiful country with a diverse group of people. I love that everyone get along regardless their religion or ethnicity and the great opportunities. Hmong people love to farm and we hope to start a community there one day.

My Supervisor DJ is also from there too, I was shocked to learn that there's actually Hmong people who live in Surinam I think they are all over the world, nice to know they are all hard working people wherever they live young and old providing for their families

Right now due to Covid, everything are mostly closed. But we hope in the future as things open up the government and the friendly people of suriname will welcome more Hmong people to become part of this amazing country.
