Absolutely wonderful recipe and walk-through! I made this today for the first time in more of a focaccia style (light parmigiano rather than mozzarella) and baked it at 500 degrees for 25 minutes. Wasnt sure if the variation would work, but I followed the rest of your instructions exactly as you have them, and I am so happy with the results! Thank you very much for the video!
@@TheSimpleWaywithDelila Thanks for asking. A LOT better and cheaper than what you get from the local pizza joint. Just some simple prep... Goodbye fridge coupons!
Used your technique for cast iron pan pizza. It turned out so delicious! Ive been making home made pizza for many years and its always trial and error with the cooking process. Not anymore! Crispy and tasty bottom with a beautiful golden top. Thank you!!!
I'm making a lot of cast iron pizzas right now and we both season the pan in the exact same way. Cornmeal and olive oil is a great non stick combination. Yours turned out great! With this method you're getting restaurant quality pizza at home and for a fraction of the cost.
I was beyond excited to try this recipe because the photo looked incredible 😍 Was 💯 not disappointed 🥰🎉 my husband also loved it!! Thanks for satisfying a pregnant lady’s craving!!
I did this dough on a pizza pan with wholes and it turned out great. My mother in law fell in love with it. It’s delicious and thank you for your recipe
I a going to make this tonight; it's warm here in Canada but I want that. You do the best favourites, and I love your soothing voice. thank you for your video's!!
I have a bread machine, so I used it to make the dough. I tried your technique of putting the dough in the cast iron skillet on the stove before putting in the oven, it works great. I didn’t have to proof the dough because the bread machine already did that for me. Thanks for the tips, i will use a cast iron skillet the next time i make a deep dish pizza 🍕
You're welcome!! I think I need to get myself a bread machine. I love that you didn't have to proof the dough. I recently did a no knead recipe on here, check it out if your ever interested.
Update I did another pizza today it came out much better but I did over do the bottom on top of the stove. Instead of broil I put the pizza on 400 for 14 minutes after the 7 minutes. I think my stove eye was up too high for the bottom crust. It was delicious my son and husband was impressed 😁 I’ll getting better with it I’m new to cast iron cooking. Thank you for your recipe 🥰
Hand made pizza dough is the best. I keep my cast iron skillet in the oven when it’s pre heating helps with the bake time just like using the stove…. I forgot one day to take the cast iron skillet out of the oven… So… I made a pizza that way and love it.
EXCELLENT RECIPE!! I’ve done this recipe twice. It’s perfect!! I may divide the dough next time just to experiment a thinner crust. Although I LOVE the thick crust. Great dough recipe too!!👍🏻👍🏻 Quick Tip: when I put the pan in the oven on broil, I have the rack 3rd from the top. It cooked the dough better. (Slower)
Ummm, i ain't even watch the video yet. I clicked on it and seen you slide that out of the pan and I'm like this the deep dish recipe I've been looking for
As far as Pizza making goes at home this looks amazing I think this might be better than using a Pizza stone for more caramelised crust from the sauce and the cheese
I wasn't camera ready, but I will next time. Thanks for supporting my channel. Check out some of my latest videos when you get a chance. I hope you'll see more recipes on here that you like❤️
My first attempt of making a pizza... it taste like a biscuit. I tried the route of leaving the dough overnight. Have you tried mixing it into the dough instead of seasoning the skillet? I wonder what would taste better. Thanks for this. It makes me HUNGRYYYYY!!!
Thanks for subbing! I have another pizza video coming real soon (non cast iron) so be sure to set your notification so you won't miss it. Question: What are your favorite pizza toppings?
Girl this looks awesome this is the kind of pizza I like with a lot of crust and it looks so delicious I cannot wait to make some thank you for sharing your recipe oh it looks so good I can't wait LOL
@@TheSimpleWaywithDelila Oh no honey I love the deep dish that's what I like the most is the crust call me crazy and I love the thick crust good job baby good job your recipe is the best recipe I ever saw can't wait to try it thank you
To whoever is reading this Jesus loves you and he’s coming soon. All you need to do to be saved is believe that Jesus Christ died on the cross for your sins was buried and came back to life on the 3d day confess with your mouth Jesus is Lord and you’ll be saved. Today is the day of salvation tomorrow is not promised and you don’t want to miss the rapture it will be so bad like nothing ever seen before on earth. God bless!!!
Hi Cynthia I'm glad you pointed that out. The traditional deep dish pizza toppings are normally placed in reverse order to allow the crust more time to cook. If the cheese and meat weren't placed UNDER the sauce it would burn before the crust has completely cooked. Because I began the cooking process on the stove it needed less time to bake in the oven, so I was able to put the toppings in the order you saw in the video. IMO this is the best way to do it if you love a good cheese pull on TOP of your pizza😉☺️ Thanks for stopping by!!
I made this and the dough was over flowing in my large cast iron.....was I supposed the split the dough once it rised to make 2? receipt calls for 3.5 cups of flour? thanks!
Yes the flour measurement (3.5) is correct. In the video I didn't split the dough and it didn't overflow. There are few factors that probably caused your dough to over rise (hyper active yeast, rising temp, flour quality). Sorry it didn't work out for you. You can try the recipe again and split the dough to be on the safe side. I'll also link you to a video where the pizza was made similar to mines, but not deep dish. ua-cam.com/video/gHexcyE4Sdc/v-deo.html
@@TheSimpleWaywithDelila thank you so much! I did use instant yeast....and its 108 where I'm at...it worked out it was just extra thick my hubby did not complain tho! Lol I'll try splitting it next time! Thanks for the reply!!!!
Yes you can but the stovetop is faster and gives better results on the bottom layer of the crust. If you make this recipe try both ways, you'll notice a big difference. Thanks for watching!
Really? That's interesting. I have seen people make the dough using 2 ingredients but it came out as a thin crust pizza, not deep dish. Thanks for watching 😊
