  • For Leighan Falley, Alaska is more than home - it’s a calling. Leighan spent years as a ski guide and climber on the Alaskan range, focusing much of her energy on Denali. But after becoming a mother, she found herself unwilling to pursue guiding (and the dangers that come with it), instead taking to the skies as mountain pilot. Follow Leighan on the Alaskan adventures that enrich her life and legacy in Denali’s Raven.

5:25 That's my Grandpa's old plane! I threw up in it when I was a kid :D He's so happy to see it still flying. He adored it. I was about 6.

I got the privilege of being one of her passengers this summer on a flightseeing tour into Denali Base Camp to pick up some climbers. Her experiences added so much to ours as she guided us through the Alaska Range. A truly remarkable lady!

This is one of the most beautiful and compelling life stories I've ever glimpsed. As an airline pilot and low-level mountaineer, the images and storyline within pluck every heartstring I've got. This woman is awe-inspiring! Thank you for creating this video and allowing us a window into Leighan's remarkable life.

I know about this woman from the Parajumpers channel material. If anything ever happens to her in the mountains I would be heartbroken for years. She is a true bush pilot unlike a lot of faux-bush pilots who stick it on their hats hoping that it might make it real.

I have been fortunate to fly with some great Alaskan bush pilots, best memories are flying with Jim Okonek previous owner of k2 out of Talkeetna landing up in Ruth gorge at 5200ft in a cloudless day next to the Don Sheldon,s hit and watching avalanches come down the south face of Denali, as well as flying with MichelleMasden out of Ketchikan Ak throughout Se Ak in her Dehavillend beaver floatplane, one of the best pilots Around, checkout Island wings air!

I feel like that speaks to the dangers of guiding, the fact that being a bush plane pilot in the mountains is safer?
