- For me, this all started two years ago in Wyoming. Along with my dad and a good friend, I signed up for a climb of the Grand Teton, which felt like another type of tourism while we passed through Jackson Hole. I didn’t intend for this side quest to go any further than that, but the mountains have a way of pulling you in.
This video documents the May 5, 2024, West Buttress Denali expedition through RMI.

Excellent videography and narration! I too stayed at the Swiss Alaska Inn and flew with K2 Aviation (with Jim Okonek, the founder) in 1986 on my first Denali expedition. You were wise in choosing a guided approach, not just for improved summit odds, but because you get to learn about how to approach the mountain, when to be patient and when to move out.
