Oh, how I wish that big beautiful organ in the background had been used for this. I had the privilege of singing this once to a large organ and on the last verse, the organist opened up the big pipes and literally shook the building. This performance, however, is immaculate. The choir is perfectly balanced, no individual voices standing out, the German is very good. Overall vocal discipline is superior. The pianist is also fantastic. Very expressive and balanced playing.
Ja, bitte:,, Verleih uns Frieden gnädiglich.." Bitte! Dona nobis pacem! Danke für dieses wunderschöne Lied! Viele Grüße und bleiben Sie alle behütet und hoffnungsstark und voller Gewissheit, dass Gott mitgeht! Immer!
Dit is zo wonderschoon gezongen(NL) Das hier ist so wunderschön gesungen(D). This has so wonderfully been sung. I'd wish this sound for my choir. And how excellent is the pronounciation of the German text. And apart from the music: we need this prayer so much.
Nothing wrong with the pronounciation of gnädiglich. Beautiful sound. They are marvellous singers, everyone of them, by which I mean "not people that sing notes" but people in whom singing is built in.
@@jandraaijer49 Sorry, but the right pronounciation would be: gnädi"k"lich with a "k" in the middle, not gnädichlich :-) But the sound is great!!! Greetings from Munich/ Germany!

Beautiful performance, sensitive and true to the composer. The German is pretty good, too, certainly very high for a collegiate choir. Bravi to all.
Beeindruckende Performance und eine tolle Aussprache! Herzlichen Dank!
Lovely performance of a beautiful Mendelssohn piece! Gorgeous German, excellent pianist. ❤❤❤

A beautiful piece of music performed exquisitely.
Wow what a polished sound, young, disciplined singers, great sound. Thank you
So touching!!
Beautiful 😍
So beautiful!
Excellent! Who's the pianist??
Good effort on the German! Don't know who taught you to pronounce gnädiglich... but otherwise really great. Good sound, as well

Pronunciation 😋
@@konstanzeschunemann3774 the score denotes it as gnedichlich, so in this instance the pronunciation is correct.
Doesn’t this depend simply on which part of Germany you come from?
Not to mention that it’s a silly issue to get hung up on here.
Nice positive singing, but is it a cappella?
It's not capella because the piano
Sublime!
The pronounciation certainly is not "k". If not "ch" it must sound like "g" as in "gnade"
@@jandraaijer49 I think you meant this reply to David F. 🙂
@@KenWAnderson Sorry, you are right
