SUBSCRIBE HERE: bit.ly/138dSZu
Footage recorded in Bamako in summer 2012 of Damon Albarn in Mali during a trip organised by Oxfam to highlight the problems facing people in the country's Sahel region. Here, the former Blur frontman performs with the Malian singer and guitarist Afel Bocoum a song called Bamako, named after Mali's capital city. Read more about music and the situation in Mali and watch more at Oxfam's UA-cam channel.
Damon is a true collaborator. When I saw Gorillaz live, EVERY SONG was a different guest singer taking center stage , not just as a decoration on top of the song, but IN the song, truly all the performers on stage becoming ONE entity.
There’s no room for synthetic instruments in this type of music, it’s got to be all natural. Awesome ❤🎉
That percussion is great.
Damon looks so happy. I love that.
My God..Damon looks like me.when I play music with other people..hyperactive child who can't stay calm and had to do something new all the time..hi hi .I feel more connected and not longer alone!
Thanx :*
I love how happy they all look
haha Damon gets out played so just starts to clap.. i have to say this was epic music though.. Malian music is an amazing present to the world
His sillyness is delightful!
I listen. I am listening . I have been listening.....
Albarn's talent shining through once again.
The percussion instrument is a calabash and when placed on something soft and hit with the bottom of the palm it makes a mean kick drum sound! You can just about see it with the bottom of his left hand on some shots.
Estava me perdendo domdes vinha esse bumbo..kkkktbm
This is music.
Nice groove 👌
Oh how I love this man...
Beau et touchant.
Really nice this, but it seemed like Damon really wasn't sure what to add to the groove when he got his pocket synth out, so gave up and started clapping. I love the guy though.
I think he was too high.
Marc Wallach Know him personally... he dont do drugs my friend :))
I don't doubt it, but, for what I've seen on his facial expression, he looks like I do when I'm high. But, as a musician myself, I get high on music as well, and that may be the reason of that relaxed expression. Thanks for your coment.
Marc Wallach Yes he's feelin' the vibe :))
+Vibes & Stuff XD
Amazing
que maestro el de percusion, y bue damon que decir, como la flasha con el mini
Priceless music
Superb, hypnotic vibes!
Malian Songhoi culture...Very nice featuring
Damned if you do, damned if you don't Damen. I say keep up the good work!
The other dude playing guitar. 3:04 "I'm high as fuck"
I met Damon Albarn with Gorillaz. After Fatoumata and Bocoum for the World Circuit Records albums, I thought they were distant people with nothing in common but I am impressed that my musical tastes join in the same path.
Oh I love him
This makes me happy
Saw Damon live for the first time this year
Pure music

Is there no end to Damons talent
I feel like Damon is high, lol.
😂😂😂😂
I thought the clapping was a little out of line and made him look like a spectator.. I wish he would have stepped up and did his thing without shame. That little gizmo needed to be heard. he looked high.
African stylee!
I hope to translate a beautiful song
Hallo😢mali💪💞💖💕👍💒
does anyone know what the song is about, what the lyrics mean?
Singing about the peace in Mali . Mali have been in trouble because of the war and terrorist attack since 2012. The guy is one of the former group of Ali Farka Toure another great musician
MAIGA BOUREIMA what title of this song?
@@maigaboureima9530 Hello Maiga, May I ask what is the language he's singing in?

+Liam Grennan I believe it's a Critter & Guitari Pocket Piano.
che, qué onda? la guitarra damon es 3/4? o sea, porq parece más pequeña en comparación con esa otra d color rojo q se ve en el video....
Jack Napier Sí, es una Taylor GS
Anybody know what he is singing about? It sounds like an old blues/work type song
Andreas Kragh It's been suggested blues music has its roots in Malian music, so that might explain why it might sound similar.
whats the name of that synth he has?
Max Rosario Pocket Piano
Damon con su juguete!

Niy Fair

I feel so sorry for you.
Does anybody know guitar chords please ?
Sorry but they use scales
of course it's not Elton john...........
Haha, Damon should have stuck with the guitar.
Lol, I love how Damon contributes almost nothing.
Drummers are the vandals or music
Albarns output has been steadily getting worse since Demon Days though you could only tell through album sales and not through critical reception.
This song is better than anything off The Magic Whip, Humanz, The now Now, Merrie Land...
Gone is the cool hip man and replaced by the tired middle age uninteresting musician.
BORING!!!!
