Wow Daniel! Am watching this one right now. That scenery blows my mind. Just epic as was your first days hike in (following you explaining the timeframe between doing Mt Owen to starting this one). Can’t wait to see more so back to viewing. Going to move into the theatre rm to view this one so that I can do it justice. Thanks so much🙌🏼☺️💁🏼♀️
Great video Daniel, captured well. I have done this trip twice now from Manapouri, it's certainly a wonderful journey. I like your comment of it being a beach on a mountain. The images you captured are stunning.
Thanks very much. I've thought about doing this trip so many times over the years, but the logistics involved has always led me going somewhere else. So happy that everything finally lined up, and hope it won't be my last.
Amazing. Lived in the area (Otago) for 45 years and wasn't aware Mt Titiroa was worth the bother. Been wrong before, and boy was I wrong this time! Great photos, great video. Thanks Daniel.
Amazing video! Just from a distance Mount Titiroa looks like an alien landscape different from the rest... glad you gave us a view up close. Definitely hope to visit someday
Cool trip and really well put together video. I’ve been wanting to get up there for a while now. That’s by far the best depiction of the area that I’ve seen! Loved the photos at the end too.
An avid hiker and photographer also, love your style not only with the images but the cinematic of the videos, could binge watch these non stop of new hikes to do and ones I've done already, keep em coming Dan
In my time working in FNP, we often glazed our eyes towards Mt Titiroa, but never succumbed. Lots of climbs we did long tramps, building huts/tracks, but time was the system wrangler. Friends from south of Nightacaps have climbed, your shots though are epic, many thanks.
Similarly have looked at the summit so many times, but it was always just a little too logistically difficult to get to relative to other awesome options in the neighbourhood. So glad I finally made it! Thanks for all your work on the tracks and huts :-)
An awesome area which is not yet fully exploited. I largely did the same walk. It's really other wordly there. Keen to do it again but continue to Borland Rd. Beautiful videography Daniel. Looking forward to your production mate.
Thanks Stephen - think I'll continue over to the Borland next time as well. So incredible up there, looks like more good stuff on the ridgeline to the south.
That was beautiful Dan.💚 Such a majestic landscape captured wonderfully by yourself. That view, the music i truly felt moved. Being an Aussie, NZ is my favourite place and would love to get back and spend mths exploring the many gorgeous hikes. Thanks for taking us on the journey.✌️
Choice video, thank you. Mt Owen has been on my 'list' for some time now. I was in the Kahurangi area a few weeks ago, but info from the DOC office in Nelson was discouraging regarding the Dart River ford. Interesting to see you using this crossing, it looked in reasonably good condition at the time of your visit. Perhaps this may have been something similar to the weather on you trip, in that I perhaps should have gone and had a look for myself! O well, with a little luck next time for me won't be to far off. Watching you video has renewed my hope for a visit here. Thanks again for such wonderful photography, really enjoyed it. Best regards.
Thanks very much! Your comment has ended up on the wrong video 🙂, but the Dart ford was in a lot worse condition when I drove in (footage was actually taken on the way out). High flows the day before I did the trip had removed all the sand, leaving some lumpy rocks to drive over - luckily I had my 4WD. I think so long as you turn up in a good weather window, and sufficiently after a prior bad window, then it should be all good.
I waited all day to get time to myself to watch this and it was thoroughly worth the wait. As a tramper I enjoyed the small details on getting there and as a hobbie photographer the panorama videos and the images at the end. Another great vid 👏. Favorites images are 2.30 and 2.42! Another place added to my wish list. Thanks Daniel for sharing
Thanks Nick, yeah couldn’t have really asked for better, timing worked out well in the end. I’ll make sure I order up similar conditions for our trip 😂
It’s only the second video of yours we’ve watched but have immensely enjoyed them both, that was absolutely stunning mate. What a spot. Keep doing these mate, you’ll go well I think. All the best.
Thanks Brett, much appreciated mate. Fair amount of effort to make, don’t think I’ll be pumping them out that often but really do enjoy both the adventure and process!
Hello! Your video remind meI was lived and hiked here, the trail name "Dusky track", because at that moment I was a beginner, so I couldn't finished it. But after the fail experience, I start to hike a lots when I leave NZ and back to my country. Your video really beautiful, remind me the most beautiful memory in NZ. May I ask which track you did in this video? It is so beautiful.... I'm thinking go back Milford national park and hike again this year, so I need more information and research more homework, thanks a lot. Greeting from Pei Han.
Thanks for the kind words. Not sure what else I can tell you that's not already in the video - check out the map at 1:46 for some key info about the location.
Absolutely beautiful! Would the most challenging part be getting to your destination or returning back to your starting point (after uve reached your desired location?) Do you bump into other hikers along the way? Your vids and imagines are incredible 👍🔥
Thank you very much! Getting there is always the most challenging, especially on a trip like this where off-track navigation is required - once you know the way it tends to be faster and easier. On this trip I bumped into a few people in the first couple of hours of Manapouri, which is popular for day walking. After that I saw two sets of couples across the 4 days. 99% of the trip I was on my own.
I must look at my TA maps because I noticed you mentioned the track is not that far away so I must investigate if I can add it on and do Titiroa as a side trip.
Hiya! I stayed at the tarn near pt 1505, but I suspect the summit climb time would be similar though maybe slightly longer from 1412 - I'd say allow around 30 mins.
All these trees, ferns, moss, sunsets and sunrises, all these views, I'm just out of words. What an amazing place. Thank you for sharing!
It's a pretty special place for sure. Thanks very much for watching :-)
Wow Daniel!

What an amazing place. Well done! Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching :-)
Wow what an epic trip.
Certainly was!

Thanks for watching! I've been aware of Titiroa for ages, but even then, wasn't prepared for how incredible it was - such an amazing place.
Awesome images! Thanks for sharing. I don't think my knees will lift me up this mountain anymore. Maybe in the next life, then.
Thanks for watching. It’s just the forest section which is very steep and that only takes a couple of hours, the rest may be do-able for you 😊
Amazing video! Just from a distance Mount Titiroa looks like an alien landscape different from the rest... glad you gave us a view up close. Definitely hope to visit someday
Yeah agreed, it does look so different from afar - has intrigued me for years so was stoked to finally make it there! Thanks for watching 🙏
wow. that really is something else. lovely video !
Cheers, thanks for watching 😊
Stunning location, beautifully shot as always 😊
Thanks heaps, sure is a stunning spot!
Great video, beautiful place!
Thank you 🙏
Thanks for showing us u nice trip....
not a problem, glad you enjoyed it 😊
Keep up the beautiful videos Daniel ❤
Thanks for the kind words :-)

Thanks for the kind words Tom, glad you enjoyed it!
Holy moly is correct! How beautiful. Glad you had such wonderful conditions and thanks for sharing.
Thanks Cathy, much appreciated. Yip I was very fortunate with the conditions, Fiordland isn't always that kind!
Wow, gorgeous! Lovely video and images. Would love to see the place in person one day. I knew nothing about that mountain. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks heaps for watching!
That mountain beach incredible. Enjoying these trip vids
Yeah never imagined the tarn would have a sandy beach like that, was amazing!
Awesome vid mate 👏
Thanks mate, much appreciated
Such amazing vlogs forever I really enjoyed it stay connected
Hey, thanks for watching! 😊
An avid hiker and photographer also, love your style not only with the images but the cinematic of the videos, could binge watch these non stop of new hikes to do and ones I've done already, keep em coming Dan
Thanks heaps for watching, am hoping to do plenty more of these :-)
Magnificent, thankyou
Not a problem :-)

An amazing area, I worked for six months at Wairio and a month at Otautau in the late 70s.
Thanks for documenting this Dan. Great shots too!
Not a problem, thanks heaps :-)
Amazing Daniel!
Thank you :-)
The raw narration is so good 10/10
Thanks very much 😊

You lucky bugger... my dream trip.
Was sooooo good! Hope you make it here one day.

Hey, glad you enjoyed it! Am so fortunate to have such a diversity of landscapes on my doorstep. Hope you get to spend a bit more time over here.

Thanks for the great feedback, much appreciated. Hope you manage to make it there one day!
Amazing trip. Incredible location up there and you capture some wonderful images there.
Thanks heaps Shannan, a dream location!
What an adventure mate, absolutely stunning! and solid effort to back it up after Mt Owen.
Thanks Luke. Both trips were a great way to spend the Christmas holidays, couldn't have really asked for better!
Broooo. I lost track of the number of times I shook my head during this video. Another corker.
Cheers Josh! Stoked to have finally made it up there, have already resolved to get back there one day.
Stunning scenery and beautifully put together. It would be difficult to top those light conditions that you got.
Thanks Nick, yeah couldn’t have really asked for better, timing worked out well in the end. I’ll make sure I order up similar conditions for our trip 😂
Drat, you make me want to go back. I attacked from North Borland Hut side, but gave up at point 1521.😀
Oh so close! I hope to get back one day and do the full route from Manapouri to North Borland, looks like plenty more to see
The South of the South Island was an incredible place to grow up as a kid in the 50/60s.
I can well imagine. And still a pretty special place today 😊
Epic, Daniel. EPIC! And you've captured it so beautifully also. Very well done! Was that Aoraki I could see in the distance in some shots??
Thanks Jono! Not 100% sure which mountain you might be referring to, but Mt Tutoko is prominent in some of the shots looking northwards.
It’s only the second video of yours we’ve watched but have immensely enjoyed them both, that was absolutely stunning mate. What a spot. Keep doing these mate, you’ll go well I think. All the best.

Yes mate video is a whole other level to put together.

Yip it's not too far away from the TA, would make a superb side quest!
Thanks for this! Im preparing to climb titiroa tmr and it was bery informative! Wanna ask from pt 1412 tarn, how long was your hike up to the summit?
Hiya! I stayed at the tarn near pt 1505, but I suspect the summit climb time would be similar though maybe slightly longer from 1412 - I'd say allow around 30 mins.
