I would say where I cut them would be the max (2 ft.) 24”. I may cut my wife’s off a little narrower than mine. Mine are very comfortable and sturdy. Now if you want to buy universal brake cables or have a bike shop install longer cables, than you can go is long as you want.
Do you have to cut the handlebars or is it ok to just keep the full length. Will the cables run that far? Why did you cut them (perhaps I missed it in your video)

i saw that your screwdriver is a 2.0mm. would that be a flathead? i can barely see a screw in mine. 😏looks like just a hole.
