Whenever we go on a plane trip, we bring an overhead bag with one set of clothes for each of us in case our check in luggage gets lost or late

We do too, I mostly do it in case we’re going to a country that is hotter so that I’m not sweating from wearing a giant cardigan and sweating.
For a 5 day trip, I would only do carry-on. My husband and I have done up to 3 weeks in Europe carry-on only. No risk of the airline losing your luggage.
American Airlines managed to lose my carry on when I traveled for Christmas, so I no longer believe it’s “no risk” when it comes to airlines and carry ons LOL. I mean, HOW?!?!

I have traveled both with soft and hard carry ons+backpack+foldable big tote bag that may be checked with shoes and dirty clothing on the return flight.
Yesssss! I'm going to Europe in a few months and I'm been scouring UA-cam for packing videos (and taking notes on your capsule wardrobes) perfect timing!
I love how realistic this is, you showed everything including underwear (crucial), makeup items(and which). My tip, just in case checked suitcase comes late, I like to put clothes and little bit of make up in both carry-on and checked suitcases.
I just don't have that many makeup brushes even at home but that standing pouch looks really practical!
Still, that's a lot of wipes and vitamins for 5 day trip! I would only bring small amount of separate packs or in plastic pill boxes...
And all that sprays and drops for 5 day trip... haha, don't forget to put aerosols in check in suitcases! Just all the things we need... :/ but you are great at packing and organising!

In my backpack i always bring a dress (comfort enough to sleep but i could walk around the town with that dress too) 1 set underwear, 1 set thermal and my skincare

I love how organized you are and how professionally done your videos are. I stopped checking-in luggage after a domestic airline lost our luggage for several days, now I just carryon whether its for a week or a month. I really do like those Ebags TLS Weekender backpacks, they get amazing reviews, I'm very seriously thinking about getting one to replace my old backpack.
Finally a video with a real amount of items for such a short trip in a clod weather. While looking for an inspiration (I'm having a trip to Moscow in 3 days, omg!) I found so many over packers flying somewhere for a week with like 20 t-shirts. Not at all helpful for me as i'm an anxious person going anywhere after the quarantine.

I have the eBags backpack too. It’s the best. I did 2 weeks of travel moving every couple of days through South Africa a couple of years back. And since I have the junior size I was actually able to stuff it under the airplane seat in front of me. Love watching your videos!

I cannot believe you packed so much stuff into that cube!!! I need me some! I am getting better at packing less though. When I go back home I take most of my clothes in my carry-on and my luggage goes almost empty so I can go shopping and have lots of room to bring stuff back with me. My luggage is half way filled with frozen food for my parents and brother from our homeland that you can't get in the USA. Not sure I could have packed a little as you did for a 4 day 5 night trip... but then again who needs workout clothes when you go on vacation and get to walk around so much? LOL Very helpful video. Yeah checking luggage is something I can avoid with everything I got. I can pack for one week in an underseater legate and a backpack. Thank God for compression cubes lol. You did good! Very entertaining.

That’s a lot of cosmetic tools and wipes you take on a 5 day trip! I would have taken one clothing item (at least) in my carry on, in case you needed a quick change but couldn’t access your suitcase. I also usually take swimming gear because many hotels have a pool or you may end up at a beach etc.

If I check luggage I always take an extra T-shirt / black leggings/ 2 xtra undies/ sox. It’s from my days as a mom travelling with a toddler. In case my kid pooped or threw up on me. But I still do it in case I lose my bag. Your trip was 5 days and you lost your bag for 2. I would have just packed an outfit in my carryon. 💓
