You just have no Idea of the size of these behemoths. they are HUGE. I visited the 'Big Geordie' excavator in Northumberland in the early1970s. weighing in at 3000tons with a 300 foot jib and up to 100 tons per bucketful it defied belief till you were standing next to it, then it was just jaw dropping .
Yep, there are big. i worked at this mine for many years. they have four of these, two this size and two slightly smaller. its a shame that a stroke of a pen by a government that has no clue, has shut production down at this mine. now this dragline is doing reclamation.
