I don't think I'm alone, but for me, for the longest time, it seemed pretty clear what Steven Universe's ending theme, "Love Like You" was supposed to be about. I thought it was about Steven's mom -- Rose Quartz -- coming to appreciate earth and humanity. This larger-than-life figure idolized by most of the characters she met in Steven Universe...who could she be? What could be behind the veneer? It seemed that Love Like You was Rebecca Sugar's way of letting everyone know that there was more to Rose Quartz than met the eye.
However, Steven Universe is quite a bit more complex than that, and as Rebecca even announced, the fact is that Love Like You is a much more expansive song.
That is to say: the Steven Universe ending theme Love Like You can be applied to nearly all the characters in the Steven Universe universe (pun...maybe intended?) If you've ever been tempted to skip past an episode, dismissing it as filler, rethink about it while having this in mind. Ultimately, every episode of Steven Universe establilshes some sort of connection for some character to the overall theme of Love Like You.

The song fitting for every character makes more sense once you hear the entire version. I know when I first heard the full version I got a major lightbulb moment XD this was a lovely cover, this song fits the sax very well.

Firstly, I would need to bring sheet music for anything I would want to play. But the bigger thing is that I rely on studio editing for soooo much to get things to sound just right. I don't really like live sound haha

Woah! How do you play with such a rich sound?! This is super good.
The short answer is "lots of practice with long tones"
The long answeris harder. Sax sound is very dependent on embouchure, and it's not easy to teach this remotely since you can't exactly see what the mouth cavity is doing. So, you just have to kind of live into how getting certain sounds feels like.
I feel like singers probably have the same basic issue.
subversiveasset My main problem is I cut notes too short and I need to work on playing legato.
Haha I get around that by basically slurring everything XD. I also struggle with this though...when I do tongue, it's usually too hard and staccato.
Believe it or not, tonguing is also something that can be integrated in long tone practice, because you have to get a good feel for how much (or rather, how little) tongue you need, how to maintain breath while tonguing, etc., So while practicing long tones, you would then try carefully and very lightly tonguing to metronome. This should help get a better feel for legato vs regular vs staccato.
I see it that way too but I have thought that song could be Rose/Pink song to Greg or even Lapis's singing about Steven

You constaly repeat how much she/he is better then you and you ain't worth it but they still love you. I make the backing tracks for all of my covers, so I wouldn't be able to tell you where you could find a backing track. However, the arrangement that I used to create the backing track should be available on musescore - so if you have a few virtual instruments and a DAW that can process midi, then that can take you a long way

Thanks so much! I will say, as someone who started on alto sax and tried learning clarinet after, clarinet is SO MUCH HARDER than sax -- the embouchure is so much more unforgiving for clarinet. So I think the transition from clarinet -> sax will be a lot easier

What mic do you use for this and what did you do to make it sound like that? (What website, app, way to play with the audio, etc.) THX in advance.
I use the electrovoice RE20 for a mic -- that mic already has a very warm, rich sound, but it is probably possible to recreate most of that sound through post-production.
For software, I use REAPER as my DAW, and after recording, I will usually EQ to add some additional brightness/higher frequencies, and then I will usually add some saturation and reverb to have the entire mix gel together.

Since I don't have Musescore premium, I can't upload very many sheets at once, but with Musescore, you can actually change instruments pretty easily, so I would use Alliron's arrangement, which took some insight from my transcription :D
