Beard, great video! I didn't realize how important finding need zones are to populating my map. After just one day of hunting and locating as many white tail need zones I could, got my first diamond last night. Keep up the good work!

I had a need zone with 9 whitetail and shot 3 of them. I didn't know that would erase the zone. It was the only zone on a small lake, so I'm curious how long until it's worth hiking back up to.

so what happens if we kill all animals in every zone i know this would take a very very long time but if we did then what does that mean would we only be able to hunt animals we found wandering the map
Not 100% sure but i'm pretty sure the need zones start to come back with new animal spawns, over time...

Awesome video! Tryed stacking the need zones on my son's map on Xbox one he is only level 7 and I have been level 60 for about 6 months. I was having a hard time just finding any animals at all now it's like the animals are all back . Works great! A lot of great information thanks for sharing!

I started playing last week. And I shoot everything I see. And In a heard I shoot whichever one I think I can get the best hit on. I’m too wobbly and too slow to be making impressive shots or secondary shots. And when I say I shoot everything I see it’s because my map is barren. I have usually walked around for an hour without seeing a track hearing a single sound. So I’m just grateful to have found something and try to get it before I miss the chance and 60xp and 400 monies
I sure wish how important need zones are in that they directly control the game population was the first piece of info in all the beginner guides out there. I have watched several of them, and while they say need zones are useful for hunting and tracking where prey are, NONE of them have said they directly control the map animal population. Thank you for this key piece of information that made the game finally click for me.
Great video! Thanks so much! One question: if we shouldn’t shoot an animal in a need zone that has only one animal - what purpose is the need zone? Why even bother having need zones with one animal in them if you can’t shoot the animal? What I’m referring to here is a need zone that starts off with one animal - not a need zone where you have killed all but one animal.

Exactly what I needed... came back to game after short brake and was like WTF.. as the map[s] were empty. Still think the missions are messing with the zones though, but I bow to your greater knowledge of the game. Ill put some work in and see if that helps... The hunting presser tip was a good one I didn't know about.

This has really helped my map, the only problem is if you have a console or not the greatest pc I have seen a very high amount of lag the more need zones I put on my map making it almost unplayable

Hi Beard, great video. If you (or anyone reading) knows the answer to this I'd appreciate some help. You mentioned all of the way to make a need zone disappear but what happens when it is gone? Is it gone forever? Can you ultimately wreck your map by destroying all need zones? Thanks.
Once a need zone is deleted you can always spot another in that location. Lots of need zones will increase the amount of animals you find. Where you want to be careful is if you spot a diamond at a need zone. There is a much better chance it seems for that diamond to respawn if it is attached to a need zone

Hey beard!!! Have been a long time subscriber specially for the hunter call of the wild!! I spent a couple of days stacking need zones and it works amazingly!! Thank you for the video!! I have one question. Do animals age (get bigger in size) the more males you hunt or the longest they live?? Im still having some problems to find mature animals. Thank you for your time!!
Hey Dani! It's really great to have ya with us and to get a chance to say Hi! Glad the need zone vid has helped!! Sadly the animals dont age. It would be a great mechanic to have added though. Through the need zone stacking you'll get more animals eventually however playing in multiplayer and stacking need zones will speed that up

No it will proceed to be a level 4 and after a while if you have alote of 4s it will create a 5 👍

Good morning JaxyBeard. I've been watching your: H:CoW series. It looks fun, especially for players who have never been hunting before. Give them a taste of the great outdoors. Too bad its not a 'scratch & sniff' game ; the smells from all the greenery is something i love the most.. smells so much better than a city.
That was a clean kill with the composite bow, very hard to do in RL. I wouldn't try it, don't want to make them suffer from my lack of mastery . :)

great video thanks, I was told when you go into MP whatever need zones you have on your map are on that map, I didnt know if you found any new ones on the MP map they would transfer to yours, good to know. Question, I was told that if you dont find all the watering zones for an animal it affects the respawn is this correct? So if the need zone shows 3 animals for that zone and I kill three the zone goes away?

Question :D if you let a need some rest do more animals go to it? If you let a for example lvl 2 whitetail go will it become lvl 3 eventually

Do animals need to be at the " need zone " to be able to " find " them or are they always lit as long as your close enough?
Well that explains why Whitetail suddenly disappeared from my map at lvl 60 before I reset my game back at square one. Time to grind for some need zones.
So when you duck hunt your screwed for hunting pressure will duck still come into those areas
Hey man, love your videos. quick question. I had an awesome whitetail need zone on Layton Lakes on the river. It held about 10 deer. 8 of which were really decent bucks. I hunted it from a tripod shooting some of the bucks trying to get bigger ones to spawn while also keeping pressure low. After hunting Silver Ridge for a couple days I came back To Layton to see if I had any more bucks on that zone, but the WHOLE ZONE was gone along with several other whitetail zones across the map. what could have happened? a bug? or did I do something wrong?
That has been happening to alot of people since the great one was added. I've lost some of mine too never to have any return to those spots. Were hoping to see a fix

Do you have any idea, why the ingame map only shows ONE species at a need zone, even though when you examine the zone ingame, there are different animals using it at different times.
How do you get that see through inventory?
Is the stacking from multiple still work the same in 2024 ?

So once the need zone vanishes is it gone forever, will it respawn over time, or does it spawn in a different location?
It is still there but you will need to spot them in the zone again to get it back.
How come u would want to keep a need zone if it only has one female? Also I’m not really sure on how to stack need zones my always just eases the need zone and adds another one in its place?

Does the multiplayer need zone trick still work?? I’ve picked up need zones on multiplayer maps and they don’t transfer to my map. I’m on Xbox so it may just be an Xbox things

That's the theory. Seems to happen to often for it not to be a thing. That or there is just alot of birds lol

Good info there, Beard; Any idea why the green/yellow markers on the map don't match up with the actual need zone I just discovered? Flashing nice and bright but on my map it is sometimes 100 meters away. Annoying!
thnx man! ya we have been looking at that. seems a need zone is a rough area and doesnt always show the exact location you picked it up. this happens an awful lot on multiplayer maps as well
JaxyBeard It sort of makes sense but it is still annoying to search around the place and find nothing. I will try not to kill... cough... harvest more than two animals to not delete all need zones in the area. Thanks for that info!
I guess I'm just slow. It seems you are saying the more need zones you have, the more critters will spawn. But aren't the need zones there whether I observe them or not? So spotting the zones is the key? You have to spot every zone on the map to get all the massive herds that you YTers have?

I'd like to think so, otherwise it's possible to kill of whole maps.
I followed some stupid video on how to make lots of money in no time, without this being mentioned (and me being an idiot not learning about purple areas beforehand).
Emptied a fantastic area, completely dead now :(
Edit: gonna answer myself here.
Need zones do respawn. Have to wait until purple is completely gone.
New need zones can pop up as soon as it's lower than tier 3, but can also despawn again if unlucky.
Just leave the area completely alone and hunt elsewhere, things will go back to normal.

Yes and no, you have to be the one who hosts multiplayer match to be able to keep the zones discovered
can u tell us the beautiful song's name?...and btw this was one of the most usefull vid i saw after a long time spent on this game...just got lvl 60 got bored a bit and few days ago i restarted from lvl one("good that i will use your need zones tips now")...so...accidentally got to this video and this need zones using explained is very useful, i wished i knew this one since i first started....but now...i unlocked my game mystery...why i had only 3 diamonds in all my playtime...never crossed my mind how need zone works efficiently ,i was just going woods - clear a full pack of centaurs - go to market - buy a lamborghini - repeat ....it looks like -> greed=empty map , empty map=0 diamond trophy...now i know , ty for this tips

Jaxybeard I’m feeling really down on this game because yesterday I shot a dimond 968 red deer put it in the lodge went back to it later and it was gone absolutely no were to be seen in trophy manager😭😭😭
there's something that i still wonder. maybe it is obvious but you didn't explicitly say it: if there's only one animal in a needzone, will the number grow with time? cause if not, what's the point in conserving a need sone? again. maybe that follows logically but it wasn't explicitly said so that's why i'm asking XD also i still don't understand how needzones come into existence to begin with xD
Can you "stack" need zones on PS4 as well? I bought my brother a copy of the game for the PlayStation 4 and I'm an over-the-road truck driver so once I go home I plan on getting online with him and doing some hunting but I've played previous games and I would like to be able to open up the need spots that I have found so that he can have them on his game as well.
Yes you sure can! They dont always appear in the exact same spot but close by
Could you get to a need zone early set up a blind then wait for the animals to show up Or will they just spawn in front of you?
The animals will already be spawned until u kill them. There are spawn points in each region and when they pop they travel to the need zones. U could use a blind but may find yourself waiting some time for them to travel to the need zone your at

what u think or what u know(better said),... if i play layton for example and then for a month i play only medved taiga ....alll the discovered need zones stays active on layton even if i don't play at for a month there ?
Ya they will still be there. The animals wont despawn
@@JaxyBeard i just started again a new game from lvl 1 not long ago and i try to protect the need zones using your tips to see how it goes ...but can u answer me a question ?...if i find a need zone with 2 animals attached let's say ,....in time(real days or weeks for ex)...that zone can have 5 or 10 animals attached ? ,...or if i come back after some time to a map that need zone will still have that 2 animals attached?....i just try to understand how is the process through that animals multiplicate on map, ..."IF"...u protect need zones

05:05 I tested this and it's not the case. I went on a brand new map I have not played in single player yet. Joined a random players multiplayer session on that map. Went and spotted animals in need zones discovering them. Left to main menu and loaded the map up in single player to check. They were not there. What's the deal JaxyBeard?
Need zones can no longer be stacked this way in 2020. They made a change last year that has so when in multiplayer any discovered need zones go to the host. So it's backwards now. I have an updated video on this my friend

Witch all the updates to the game, is this information still accurate?
from my play time in the past few days it looks like this was patched out, theres a distinct message in multiplayer if your not the host saying "all need zones, and hunting pressure will not carry to your personal map" "all structures and decoys you place will be returned to your storage when you leave" and from my personal time playing in multiplayer i have not seen any need zones carry from multiplayer if i was not the host, even if the original host left and i became the new host they still don't carry over. unless someones extensively checked recently it looks like a solid "no it doesnt transfer unless you are the host"

So you're saying that the player discovering need zones actually affects the animals' behaviour? I always thought that all the need zones were given and that finding them only gave you the information that they were there.
They dont exactly affect their behaviour per say other than where they travel and the amount that can spawn. By stacking your need zones you will see alot more animals in that area though
i don't have the game, but thinking about getting it so I don't have enough base knowledge for your explanation to make any sense, it just wasn't very clear on the process.
Everytime i find a need zone on multiplayer map they never show up on my map!

What should I do if all of the animals in my need zone are females?
Can you explain why this game is so needlessly difficult? You walk in game and find animals to shoot all the time. I walk in game for hours a never kill anything?
When I first started it was the same way. This game is built around the need zones. The more zones you have the more animals you will see. I've been stacking zones for some times now. Hang in there, it will get better!
