It only took us 6 years to get the next competitve FTK deck... Quattro is about to deliever the fanservice the game didn't need, but definetley deserves.
I see this as a good thing, this archetype was always meant to have an FTK potential but never got the support it needed to do it, now it does and it's glorious

If it is, I still use it as one off, since both Girsu (Orcust Nightmare) and Little Soldiers can send it to the GY, and opening it is not that bad. Also, Girsu is a one card combo to get the New Rank 9 that pops a card, 2 steals and the Dingirsu and Cymbal in grave to send a card from your opp to the GY, also, You put a token in your Opp field, so they cannot use cards like Lightning Storm nor Evenly to break your Board. Also, the Horus engine works pretty well since you had so many cards that activates in the GY or get back to your Hand (Aka the Rank-Up).

Also, I didnt understand the part you say of not being able to special summon from Extra, nothing in the Deck except by Bloody Doll, the Gimmick Link and the Orcusts monsters locks you from summon anything from the Extra. (The orcust lock is only for Darks, so you still able to Summon the Gimmick Xyz and Link, and Bloody Doll only use in this variant is when you dont have anything more to do, open a bad hand and thing like that). I think this build is just better and fun than using a FTK that loses to Hanewata or a Imp/Droll if you didnt had the Rank-Up in your Hand. If you play correctly, Bloody Doll most of the time seens useless tbh☠️
@tonylades one thing I would like to add is that the modern support does more then just FTK turbo. The deck is surprisingly competent at going second.
I think Konami giving players psuedo-FTK combo decks (Volcanics, Trickstars, and Gimmick) and combo OTK (Tenpei) decks might help change the handtrap format and make the meta less stale over time. There's Hanewata. There's Dog Wood. There's Battle Fader. I'm so tired of seeing turbo negate boards lol

The day that Gimmick Puppet would actually be an actual horror deck than simply a "Gimmick" is truly frightening and I'm here for it.
