Sumeru OSTs were absolutely god-tier. I love them so much, actually it's still my fav region OST-wise! Also it feels so great that Sumeru OSTs have been getting the appreciation it deserves.

Love your leitmotif compilations! As a fan of genshin ost myself, i wanted to point out that there are several references to the dance of sabzeruz leitmotif (or general sumeru ost) in desert soundtracks. A couple of examples: Mirage of Oasis, Ocean of grains, Hymn of cicadas (one of my favourites, majestic) and Taabak laylatak.
I quit genshin during the childe/xinyan event all the way back in inazuma and came back during 3.7/3.8 with all of sumeru to explore. Some real meat and potatos mhy gave us. Absolutely fantastic fucking region. The music is has so much soul its amazing. Im going to just play the game to hear future music, gacha mechanic's be damned.
absolutely sumeru is my favorite region (although fontaine is really growing on me!) and i think the music is a very large part of what makes this game so special

Ohwow its Reitsuna from that bgm channel lol I've played Fontaine battle theme on repeat these pasts few days, quite a breather from the tribal vibe after Inazuma and Sumeru though I still prefer those (here's hoping there'll be more intense percussion at Natlan)
this was such a cool video! the commentary so fun to read along with, and the progress bar and travellers were really helpful! its easy to tell how much effort they put into the sumeru ost (especially in the live performance), and it definitely tied with liyue for my favorite region ost :) its hard to beat the erhu songs lol

I wasnt super into sumeru because I've been playing since 1.2 and need to take break to avoid burnout, plus I was super busy at the time and didn't really sink time into exploring. Now I wanna go back and explore! I think I could actually so the aranara quest lol

I notice there like a sumeru gods themes? The melody that shows up in nahida Sanctuary, nilous teaser towards the end, first few seconds of nilous demo, inebriation of Raghu-e-nilou (nilou public performance cutscene), early part of the elezar lore cutscene, and fresh breeze of dawn (sumeru city’s dawn theme). These are the places i remember hearing it. At first i though it was a goddess of flower thing bc of its association with nilou (alongside the sabzerus festival theme) but it also appears for other things related to the gods. I’m pretty sure this is a separate leitmotif?

The underwater music paired with the swimming noises is some of the most relaxing gameplay ive ever experienced in a game i think out of all the regions, sumeru still has the most of my favorite themes, so yea it hits different but im excited for more Fontaine music!
