Getting an awesome tone is not that hard, In this video I show you how I do it without the need of any pedal: ua-cam.com/video/SL51oHLvhhg/v-deo.html

Now I have been out of the guitar sell/trade market during Covid and the market is different but general rule you can get a nice 7-string used at great value. I have seen models that would be $800-1200 or more in a 6 string going for $350-750 as a 7 strng

You are right, my first approach when it comes to buying new gear is always to look at the used market first, sadly this time I didn't have any luck finding something good provably because of the sickness. It is quite interesting that this is happening, could it be because the demand for 7 string guitars is that low that the prices have to be this competitive in order to attract potential buyers?

@@bardonmusic As long as you get gear that fits your needs its all good. I am in the US and that may be a bit different market for 7 strings as well. I have seen retail stores discount new ones quite a bit as well due to the slow sales

Dude. I have that exact same model and my main complaint is that the coating in the bridge is NON CONDUCTIVE! Which is just ridiculous. The fretboard is completely dry and atrocious. However, the headstock is beautiful! I love that shape and the fact that it’s a 26,5 scale is pretty cool. With decent hardware you can have a pretty decent and nice guitar por little money. Just ditch the bridge 😅

How is going with this guitar? Do you upgraded it? Do you upgrade the pickups?

Totally Agree! I have this one for more than 2 years and each problem you comment about it it's correct. For the price that's good but just that :)

This is a solid guitar. I will be changing the pickups. The tuning pegs are kind of a pain in the rear also. I’m looking forward to seeing what you do to it so I can get some ideas!

For the price is kind of a great deal, but you gotta approach to it knowing that you'll have to spend a few hundreds in proper tuning pegs and specially pick ups speaking of which, what do you have in mind?

@@bardonmusic I was thinking of getting the EMG 81's. I also need to do some work to the bridge/nut, I have a buzzing issue
