Your channel inspired an entire generation of kids to adopt healthy habits, including myself. Started watching your videos back when there wasn’t much in the way of UA-cam fitness and now more than a decade later you’re still putting out great content for people at all stages. Keep it up Lee, you’re spreading positivity and changing lives even if you don’t realise it.
Of ALL the youtube fitness guys you’re my favorite! Simple, honest, straight forward, complete exposure - showing your complete workout! QUALITY CONTENT!👍👍👍Thanks coach after 40. Who’s watching the kid and dog?lol BTW that chest supported row machine your dad made - looks awesome!!
I usually hit the gym when my son Harvey is in school. So that make it convenient. But when school is out in the summer time it makes it a bit more challenging to schedule in gym time. As for our dog, unfortunately she passed away last year and we don't have any plans on getting another one anytime soon. While I love dogs, it's a big responsibility.
Hey Lee, I watche your videos since 2006, when I started with "Bodybuilding". I have to say, that your channel is one of the few OG channels that still holds up and is not cringey as f**k. And you aged with pride and have the mentality of a grown man and dont act like a 14 old boy, like of your former collaborater in the mid 2000s. Looking forward to watch your video my entiry life. btw sorry for the bad english
I've watched your channel since the early years of UA-cam. Watching your modern videos gives me ideas and learn how to train safe. I'm going to be 30 soon i find as I get older new goals and learn how to maintain as I get older.
Hey Lee. Long time follower of yours. Not to fill your head with hot air but I've learned quite a bit from you. Your ideas have formed the cornerstone of what I do to workout for almost 20 years. Your videos really resonate with me as of late as I'll be 40 in less than a year. Just wanted to let you know that I appreciate your videos and I hope you continue to do well and make content.
Lee, your videos are incredibly informative and organized. The written notes that I take are becoming my personal notebook text that I use for information but also motivation. Your personable style is very pleasant and enjoyable. Thanks and kudos.
Mr Hayward, I’ve learned everything I know about lifting weights from your channel. Your channel taught me many things and I’m grateful and appreciative. I’m over 40 now and have to change things up due to shoulder injury, surgery coming up soon and age. I will continue to watch your videos and learn. I hope you continue to post videos and teach us, your fans for many years to come. Ty Sir. Much respect 🫡.
Thanks for sharing that, glad you enjoy my videos. To go along with the content I post on UA-cam, you should join our Total Fitness Bodybuilding Facebook Group as well at: facebook.com/groups/total.fitness.bodybuilding
This video in my recommendations was a breath of fresh air. We older lifters need advice from older guys who have been there and done it. A lot of stuff on UA-cam is targeted at the younger generation so this is great. Thank you.
Hi lee I have followed you since the very beginning it's great to see how you are now a family man who still trains and inspires others. Please do a video on how you got in to property rental and passive income streams all the best stay as humble as you always have been
I appreciate the support. I might do a video talking about my experiences with real estate. I'm in the process of selling off my properties now and gradually getting out of the rental property business so I can focus on my fitness coaching full time. The real estate business was just a money maker, not something that I actually enjoyed doing. But fitness coaching is a true passion of mine and what I love to do.
Great vid Lee with some useful reminders of things I have not been doing! Time is major factor for me as I a non car owner. so dependent on bus times. At least I do a warm up, so many people I see do not do any! What I like about your vids is the no nonsense approach. No razmattaz and loud music accompanied with shouty delivery. Keep up the excellent work. Long time follower.. Bill
Awesome. Very good video! I`m 49 years and I related to a lot of the infos! A good confirmation for my routine. I like the idea of opposing movements and do this all the time. I think it`s good to balance the muscles and keep your joints healthy.
Glad you enjoyed the video Marc, it's amazing how the body changes. Even though I'm only 44 years old, I've been weight training consistently since I was 12 and I've seen a lot of changes over the past 32 years. From the rapid growth in my teens and 20's, to peaking in my 30's, and now a slow decline in my 40's.
The same with me. I also started that age. When I was young it was all about being huge and strong, now my workout is a kind of "inner yoga with weights". It´s about being in contact with the body feeling into the motion and still, like in my young years, enjoying the pump! 😄
Hey Mr. Lee Hayward I am here just to thanks for your video "Is There Any Point To Working Out if You Have A Poor Diet?💪🍕" I finished right now and I really aprecciate. I'm a procrastinator and my life is so confused and your tips sounds like the way for me, so thank you so much. I don't knew your chanel but for now I will see a lot of your videos, one more sub here :) And sorry for my bad english I'm Brazilian and I'm studying english for improve this...
You're welcome, glad you enjoy my videos. As for your English - it's really good - you write better than a lot of guys who speak English as a first language 😜
Ur the best lee I definitely wanna look like u in my 40s am 28 now so I have all the time in the world I least wanna lift 300 pounds in the future naturally not trying to bash u or anything like that but it just shows you still got it
Thanks for the comment. As for your progress and strength goals you've still got time to hit your personal best - provided you remain injury free. Most guys will hit their peak strength and muscle maturity in their early 30's and then it slowly starts to decline from there. But of course that's just an overall average, there will always be exceptions to this.
Awesome video Lee. It's good to see a different approach. I noticed you didn't consume protein within 2 minutes and 25 seconds after your final set. That means you are going to lose all your gains😅.
You can make progress with one heavy set of a movement. But for more advanced lifters and guys who want to push it harder it's ok to build up to doing more volume.
Only 3 sets including 2 warm up sets? So isn’t that only like 1 hard working set? Is only 1 hard set per muscle group per workout enough volume? Also, no bench?
I may add in an extra set if I feel I need it. But this is a typical workout. As for the exercises, I vary them each time I go to the gym. So there was no bench press in this workout, but I will include different bench press variations into my workouts.
Yes, but mostly with my cycling workouts as that's my main priority now. I've joined our local bicycle group and participate in our local road races and sportive events. You can follow my cycling workouts on Strava at: www.strava.com/athletes/leehayward

Come on Lee...the Rock is now in his 50's and he's bigger and stronger than his 20's...all naturally. There's hope for us!
Great workout video, as always. Can you run this program 4 days a week, say on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday?
Sure, if you feel good and can recover from it there's nothing wrong with making this a 4 day per week routine.
The OG
Thanks Alex, it's been quite a journey and I'm still enjoying it 👍
Awesome video Lee. It's good to see a different approach.
I noticed you didn't consume protein within 2 minutes and 25 seconds after your final set. That means you are going to lose all your gains😅.
Darn it... I knew I messed up and missed my "Anabolic Window" LOL 🤣
Hey Lee! How would you say doing just one top heavy set compares with doing 2 or 3? Any preference for building muscle?
You can make progress with one heavy set of a movement. But for more advanced lifters and guys who want to push it harder it's ok to build up to doing more volume.

How long does a workout like this take you Lee, including warm ups?
I'm usually in the gym for 90 minutes per workout.
