To all who asked about this dance : This is Saltarello (or Saltarella ) a folk dance from central Italy : Lazio, Umbria, Marche, Abruzzo , less known than pizzica or tarantella danced in the south of italy , the feet pushing come from the ancient way to push the grapes to make wine , nowadays this is replaced by machinery , once was a hard labour , so this dance come from this , that's why is so hard ,

But, I believe the Tarantella dance was originally danced so fast to work up a sweat, to ease the pain of the tarantula spider bite, hence 'pizzicata'....I doubt it would work to save you from some of tge very deadly spider bites here in Australia, like the Red Back, the Trap Door spider bites and others,that kill with such venomous poison, though I believe only the bite of the female kills you, not the male. The female eats the male after she breeds with him. Ah well, a pregnant spider has to eat something...

As for the poisonous spiders of Australia I know some are really deadly , not to compare with our wolf spider ( tarantula) that gives the name to the Tarantella and in Apulia the Pizzica ( from the verb pizzicare to Pinch in english )

Central/Northern Italian heritage migrated to Australia. I often saw the local migrants play this music and do these sorts of dances at our country home. They were mainly southern Italians and I was told it was called Tarantella. I knew about Saltarello but I thought that was a more formal ancient dance, like you hear in Italian classical guitar music etc.
Thanks, mate. Now I know the difference between Tarantella and Saltarello and t h eir specific regions and origins etc. Those wolf spiders must be nasty bastards. Yes, we do have deadly spiders in Aust. There is the Red Back, with a bright red stripe on its back. You don't mess with these. Their bite c as n soon kill you. But, only the female spider bite kills. The male is harmless because she eats him shortly after mating with him, so yhe males in Australia are nothing to fear, just the females. We also have other nasty bastards, like the TrapDoor spider. Fortunately we don't get the most deadly ones in th e colder south of Austcehere I live, mainly further north. They prefer warmer climate, around Sydney, up tropical Queensland way. Further north towards New Guinea, there are huge spiders you wo I ld not wish to disturb, in the wild, primitive tropical jungles there. I saw some. They are terrifying.Many dangerous creatures in Australia, but, fortunately, no wolves big bears, li k e in Europe. Just the wild Dingo dogs and small, harmless Koala bears. In the central hot desert lands, there are many wild camels that are a problem. They are not native to Aust but brought out by b immigrants but they escaped into the wild, liked the conditions and bred very fast, eating what sparse food there is for beef cattle and sheep on huge stock farms out there in the Outback desert areas. Most migrants to Australia live in easy, comfortable big cities but my family were brought out here by Australian friends in the bush, so we were the exc e option as nd settled in the country because m y people were country peop l e even back in Europe and knew and like the country way of life. But, country life in Australia is something Europeans cannot imagine. All the vast distances and everything is very big scale. A European farm will mean a couple of acres at most but, in Aust, cattle and sheep etc farms will often be thousands of acres of land to control, look after. A lot of hard work in very hard, hot, remote conditions. Transport and communication is hard. They rely heavily on air transport eg there is the Flying Doctor service that is like an aeroplane mobile hospital that fles out to remote places to treat medical c rmergenc I es there because there are no medical clinics in remote Australia, even now, but many in the big cities.

È un ballo popolare molto ballato in tutto il centro Italia ....meraviglioso che lo avete ripreso e riproposto
ERA un ballo molto ballato in tutto il centr'Italia. Al presente purtroppo non lo è più. Questo stile dell'alta Sabina era sopravvisuto come il più radicato e diffuso, fino al disastroso terremoto; dopo di che non so perché non vi ho più fatto ritorno. Nelle Marche, Umbria, resto del Lazio/Abruzzo al presente (...ultimi 20 anni, almeno) è purtroppo un ballo quasi solo espressione di chi faccia parte di gruppi folcloristici: magari ballano anche senza costume, ma sono di quella provenienza. Salvo sparute eccezioni.
In alta Sabina, invece, fino al 2016 ballava un po' chiunque, anche signore in ciabatte, che uscivano di casa anche così agghindate, apposta per ballare!

@@dinoercrodino9966 Saltarello. Che è un "genere", ma che come la gran parte delle musiche per danze popolari non ha un titolo vero e proprio (anche perché non si sa chi lo scrisse...sono musiche tradizionali la cui origine si perde nella notte dei tempi).
Al limite, data la tipicità delle "passate" ed i relativi passi di danza, si può localizzare come Saltarello dell'Alta Sabina o, come più comunemente indicato, Saltarello di Amatrice.

Purtroppo, tra le tre + 1 macro regioni d'Italia (dove il + 1 è, come facile intuire, la Sardegna) il Centro è proprio quella dove il ballo popolare e tradizionale (che non sono sinonimi) spontaneo (cioè non da gruppo folcloristico) di epoca pre-liscio/coppia allacciata peggio si è conservato.
Molto migliore la situazione al Nord ed al Sud, sempre riferendosi comunque a realtà piuttosto isolate e generalmente montane (con la notevole e significativa eccezione di Reggio Calabria, unica città di tali dimensioni dove ancora la gente balla, spontaneamente ed in pubblica piazza come accadeva 100 anni fa).
Accipicchia che meraviglia siete uno spettacolo braviiiiiii 🍒🌹😍

Si chiama "salterello", ed è la tipica danza tradizionale che si balla nelle regioni dell'Italia Centrale : Lazio ( il cui capoluogo di Regione è Roma, capitale d' Italia; Abruzzo (capoluogo Pescara); Molise ( capoluogo Campobasso); Marche (capoluogo Ancona); Umbria (capoluogo Perugia). @@panibabcia7732 Buon pomeriggio da Sorrento, provincia di Napoli (h 18.23). Il termine Saltarello deriva da 'salto' più il suffisso diminutivo 'ello' : significa 'piccolo salto '. A riconsiderare ,per la verità, la sua osservazione per la somiglianza con la 'tarantella ' dell'Italia Meridionale, forse ha visto giusto. Anche perché sono danze antichissime , di carattere dionisiaco e liberatorie, risalenti agli antichi popoli italici di 2500 anni fa , che avevano contatti l'uno coll'altro . La tarantella ha origine, secondo alcuni studiosi, dalla città di Taranto , tra le piu potenti della Magna Grecia ( Megali Hellas [ Grande Grecia ] ), quindi con ritmi inerenti alla danza greca antica; altri ad un rito propiziatorio di liberazione , guarigione dai veleni causati dal morso della "tarantola" , un tipo di ragno diffuso nelle aree calde del Centro Meridione e delle aree mediterranee. Il suo nome scientifico è " Lycosa tarentula ", chuamata in italiano anche 'ragno lupo". È particolarmente in Puglia, dove questa danza era considerata una medicina, per i suoi movimenti parosisticamente frenetica, per chi era era stato morso da tale ragno , che abbondava specialmente nel periodo caldo della mietitura (giugno - inizi luglio ) e quindi chi erano maggiormente i contadini ma specialmente le donne. Nel giorno di San Paolo, l'Apostolo delle Genti, di cui si legge negli Atti degli Apostoli della sua miracolosa guarigione dal morso di un serpente a Malta, a Galatina, nella chiesa a lui dedicata, c'era il rito , documentato fino agli anni '60, della esorcizzazione mediante la musica di strumenti tradizionali, di donne morse e che presentavano atteggiamenti convulsamente epilettico e frenesia irresistibile. E quindi ballando freneticamente sudavano. Col sudore il sangue si purificava perché gli umori avvelenati scomparivano. E subentrava la pace. Alcuni studiosi ipotizzano la comparsa di endorfine che equilibrava tutto. Saluti alla Polonia.
Aggiungo : infatti i Pugliesi chiamano la loro danza "Pizzica " ( dal verbo pizzicare) e non "tarantella ", usato invece nelle altre regioni meridionali limitrofe (Campania Basilicata Calabria ed oltre il 'Faro' ( lo Stretto di Messina ) Sicilia.
A Napoli ci sono 2 targhe commemorative di due illustri viaggiatori polacchi che vi soggiornarono : il Poeta Nazionale Juliusz Slowacki e lo scrittore Premio Nobel Henryk Sienkewicz. L'uno in un palazzo a Via Santa Lucia (adiacente piazza Plebiscito e Palazzo Reale ); l'altro nello storico antico Albergo Vesuvio (hotel de luxe) sul Lungomare Caracciolo, difronte all'antichissimo Castel dell'Ovo ( di fondazione romana ).
E negli anni '80 la storica visita dell'indimendicabile Papa Giovanni Paolo II, Karol Woityla, nel Golfo di Napoli : Napoli, Castellammare di Stabia, Sorrento. Io e mia madre c'eravamo in quel giorno a Piazza Plebiscito , dove avevano eretto il Palco Papale proprio difronte Palazzo Reale. Era una bellissima ma fredda giornata invernale . Emozionante. Ancora con affetto agli amici Polacchi legati da vincoli storici di amicizia cogli Italiani. 😊🐬
