Courtney and Mike recently said in an interview that they were listening to alot of Nine Inch Nails when they were writing the songs on this ep. That would explain the industrial out side of the box sound.
Great reaction! The song you’re reminded of: Only Happy When It Rains by Garbage, maybe?
Definiely has a bit of a Garbage vibe
Yessss!
100% it, especially vocally.
@@bradkohl99 Thanks (also to Laura earlier) for this. I think I read that Courtney mentioned that for Rotoscope she was inspired by Shirley Manson's vocals. I feel it's an homage - I find the most striking thing is the kind of twisting tonal (bad description but I know what I mean!) prolongation of the vowel sound in Courtney's "change" which almost rhymes with Shirley's "rains". Shirley Manson herself did a rather good vocal homage to Chrissie Hynde of The Pretenders in the song Special (from the Garbage 2.0 album). 😁
You should react to Courtney & Mike’s previous band - iwrestledabearonce. A great start would be Gift Of Death. 🤘🏽
I feel like it sounds more early 2000’s with some of the vocal influences coming from the 90’s. That’s just me being nitpicky.
