    My Hotpoint smart tech is currently half disassembled on my kitchen floor as we speak. I've thankfully come across this video and discovered that the tub can't be taken apart to replace the bearings before wasting any more time on it so thanks for that 👍🏻We got 7 years out of ours. Off to the shops for a new one.

    Sadly happens all the time, I've changed drums on machines from 1 or 2 year old to 20 year old, unfortunately chances are it was overloaded alot and the bearing failed, I've seen the cut them in half videos, not sure how much I'd trust it, the movement in the drum at the front, I'd say the spider has failed too, so don't think cutting it and adding a new bearing would do much, I could be wrong tho. Thanks for the shout out again bud. Yeah 2018 made machine. Who ever owned it could have got a 6 month insurance policy and a new drum fitted for just over a hundred quid.

      That's the thing, I wouldn't trust a cut in half video at all. You'd be waiting for it to leak!

      @@bootsowenIf you use some good sealant and drill some holes to screw both halfs, it holds nice. Just need to prepare halfs nicely to ensure nice sealing.

    All Hotpoints/Indesits in my country have this issue after 2-3 years! 😂 marketplace is full of them

      Well that’s the business model, built a cheap machine 😊 and buy replacements more often. Plus despite right to repair, make it awkward and uneconomical to bother.

      An some of them have drums with very fragile plastic that can break even when just replacing a heating element

    Cut the tub open so we could see what the inner bearing looks like

    It is just a shocking Waste Mr.B. .... Right to repair ? ... Yep, parts at over half the price of a new machine.

    Ah is that 3 phase motor an inverter motor? Most of those insident machine have them now. The future of hot wiring might be colder 😮

    That's the worst state of failed bearings I've ever seen, even thinking of trying to cut it open is not worth it I'd say lol

    Sadly there all made now hotpoints so repair guys just take the drum out and put another drum straight in sad part is them drums cost like £175 for a new one... i have the same model machine.. some of theses are good just for spare parts. drum padels, from or machine casing in good condition non rusty. door lock because its an non affected recall model. PCB and more

    • @benthebossjackson4388
      @benthebossjackson4388 Рік тому +1

      But in fairness these models above 8kg do last a long time! bearings going is a pain but the rest of machine does last.. they still sell brand new for like £299

      my machine has rusted front panel nd the bearings do sound like there going after 3 years. so that annoyed me, but it is insured :) so if eventually dies they just give me a new machine :)

    i just saw a youtuber cut the tub open, change bearing and then put it back together with gorilla glue.
    I dont know if I could be bothered to faff arounf that much. if the gorilla glue doesnt fully seal, you would have washed a load of time.

      You can buy a used working machine for small money. I reckon that the risk of a leak outstrips any benefit.

  • @zx8401ztv

    Utter crap quality, if not made in china there rubbish parts end up in the same machines.
    If you want crap, buy a low end Beko, it won't last.
    Yes see if you can carefully split the drum, a chance to see if its possible.

    • @richardbutler4488
      @richardbutler4488 Рік тому

      No you need a Z list own brand thing, Owen done a bricking on one of them, it didn’t last a trow 😂 Best of luck sawing a drum open, doing the replace and fooling around with sealant to get the drum back together 😊 The leak is highly possible 😅
