Watching this because of DDL 😍☺️
yesssss
I'll miss him on screen.
bishonen addik me too. best actor ever
Marion Cotillard
Same.
A table of heavy talent, but Day-Lewis' the shining gem stone.
There are only two...may be three good actors/actress at the table, in my book; Daniel Day Lewis, Marion Cotillard and James McAvoy. George Clooney is always hit or miss, in my opinion. As for those two actresses.....ahhh...hmmm....no comments.
Marion too...
Agreed !!
yea but he only talked like two times wth
lmc2664 he is brilliant, how many Oscars dies he have as best actor? 3?
Look how amazing Daniel is here. He’s so wise. He doesn’t talk a lot. When asked about roles he regrets taking he refuses to speak, because he knows it’s not worth it to offend the people he made those films with for the cheap entertainment of the current audience. Instead of taking a bunch of time he just quietly listens intently to everyone. In fact instead of telling anyone anything he asks Ellen page a question. He’s so curious.
I’m finding that I don’t have to hear Daniel Day Lewis speak to learn from him about his process. He teaches more important lessons in his silence than many do in their speeches.
Exactly. Thank you for writing it down so correctly.
Beautifully put but I wanna ask more specifically what you wrote here in your second paragraph...what did you learn about his process from his silence exactly? Anything else apart from that he's genuinely curious?
exactly, there are actors and actors Daniel Day Lewis is in a class of his own...he probably said to himself of course this is the last "actors roundtable" he'll do lol
Really solid points. Actually, I'd be curious to know what films DDL regrets doing. I think he's been stellar in all of them and they've been of high quality. Ok, maybe that remake of Fellini's 8 1/2 weeks. But it's not like it wasn't without merit, and he was good in it. Perhaps he's referring to the vibe on some of the sets he's encountered.
Daniel is an intensive listener
His inobtrusive presence creates trust
James McAvoy stands up with his brilliant sense of humour even among these super stars.
He's made a name of his own even if he's the one there that never had an Oscar nomination.
Don't give a damn about his sense of humor when you have ddl , brilliant artist ever
@@rahilmansuri5488DDL is indeed one of the greatest actors ever. Still, that doesn't diminish the values and accomplishments of McAvoy, one of which happens to be a great sense of humor.
@@rahilmansuri5488 DDL needs to be with people of his own league.
Round of applause for James McAvoy for trying to kill the awkward silence, He’s just the best ♥️♥️ lots of love for him
Hes so young here ❤
Lot of actors but only one guy gets to drink the milkshake 3 times.
Forever in love with DDL!
Daniel is the greatest actor ever
Very calm and humble person Mr. Lewis.
mcavoy is so awesome. i just love the way he expresses himself. and he was very chilled and also got a lot of laughs :)

I m a fan of james by d w
DDL doesn't belong in this table of mortals. He's god tier.
Only here because of the great Daniel Day Lewis, he is not just great, he is greatest, none of the other actors in that room comes close to his greatness, btw I love Angelina as a whole human being....❤️❤️❤️❤️
Even the poster depicts how big DDL is compared to the others
Angie 💜
Came for Marion and Daniel day lewis
Daniel Day-Lewis successfully adopting Ellen gives me life
James McAvoy , Marion Cotaillard and DDL are my favs
I love Clooney but I’ve never seen George Clooney actually acting and I’ve seen many of his movies 😂😂😂. He’s just nice and handsome and that’s ok lol
Well, the films are out there. Clooney is actually a real solid actor with impressive range. Syriana, The American, The Ides of March, The Descendants, O Brother Where Art Thou, etc. He may not have the chops of Day-Lewis, but not many do. Still, he's more than just a handsome guy, etc. He is definitely talented. People shouldn't dwell on his early work, like E.R., or even Oceans 11, but the film roles he's evolved with.
That's a lot of talent for just one table
phil says get more tables
And also: Angelina Jolie
phil says ,and for your mama
Good lord, that was a table of Amazing talents. Totally insane to have been in that room as spectator.
Daniel didn't belong in that room. And I like the way he listens to Ellen. I felt Ellen and him are sort of in a similar wavelength.
Plateau J.
I’m 36 years old and I’ve only seen a few actors as talented as Ellen.
Don't group James McAvoy
in with the rest of them.
@@DizKord1600 What do you mean? He's an amazing actor.
@@mdnblues i think OP probably meant DDL belongs on a table with senior/ more seasoned actors
Daniel, dressed like a cheap fake cowboy background extra, speaking like a true poet.
I believe I am in love with Daniel
Same
Same
I am in love him him, HE'S EXTREMELY TALENTED AND HANDSOME.
I've been since the late 80s
James always gave sincere interview , pretty to chill man.
DDL and Marion Cottilard the best of them all
I only came here for Daniel Day-Lewis. He is the only actor on this group of famous people.
Wild statement to make when Marion Cotillard is there.
Sitting in between Daniel Day Lewis and George Clooney must be terrifying. Of course the latter being not quarter the artist of DDL
I don’t know why everyone is hating on Angelina Jolie, she’s clearly just trying to listen to everyone. Not everyone quiet is trying to be mean.
Clooney and Jolie are very good directors but underrated.
I love those three ladies Marion Cotillard, Ellen Page & Angelina Jolie ❤❤❤
Not three ladies, not anymore
@@anvaryusupov8245 Horrifying
Two ladies and a 'they'.
I love all these characters .
Needed more DDL.
wow. i love this so much.
I love how DD respects Marion Cotillard so much, and understands her process.. They are two great actors. You could tell they were under her spell (especially Clooney, lol !), except maybe Angelina Jolie who I've found so cold during this interview... Well, only DD & Cotillard are incredible actors, the others are fine.
Acting Gods!
ngl the line up was pretty good. eventhough people questioned some of the names here. but i guess they want to show a diverse panel that include actors from all ages/era
2021... here for DDL...
2022 Same
2024 again
After 5 yrs still looking for the round table...
boy 10 years later cotillard would be suspect of being the other woman in the joie-pitt relationship
This looks really awkward for them all..
Love you Angelina ❤️♥️💖💝💞💋😘😻😍😜💜👑🖤💚💙You're the queen 👸!!!
What’s the music that played at the start?
Damnitt daniel i wiah you answered more!
James McAvoy is so underrated
Brilliant and funny
Watching only for George Clooney. Being the coolest person in the room. Underrated director 💖
Lolz he's cool but DDL doesn't even need to speak & he puts everyone else to complete shame!!!! He's the only reason everyone else at the table is quiet & choosing all they're words carefully!!!! It's like sitting next to Brando or Newman or Cagney or Chaplain or Nicholson
Alot of Great actors at that table and ellen
4:50 starts
This roundtable gives me a wet dream
George Clooney has no business being on the same table as Daniel Day-Lewis
Neither does Page. I don't even remotely understand why she's there.
Actually by including DDL in the guest list the organizers made other actors look like nothing, it's like inviting a king to a commoner's wedding 🤣😂
I think DDL has no business on the same table as George Clooney. Remember Clooney is a director too
He's multi-talented.
DDL deserved to be wearing a throne at that table, and also a much better introduction. He's the greatest of all time for Gods sake.
are the rumors true??? has DDL really retired from acting.
he just doesn't wanna do his method acting thing again.
im so sad ...daniel is the best &1of the few left 💔😭🤧🙈
Burda Ellis The only person who isn't a sell-out, among these jokers. He is too good for Hollywood.
im still sad abt it tho, yet he's nominated for phantom thread. thats 1way to go out winning another oscar XD
I completely understand your frustration, but you have to remember that this man literally *becomes* every single character he has ever been to a very soulful, almost spiritual level. Regardless of how amazing he is (and by God, he is!), that takes its toll on a person and you simply cannot do that into your later years. Also, his wife of 20+ years wanted him to retire after Lincoln as it was becoming far too much for her to take.
DDL has 3 Best Actor Oscars and besides Marlon Brando (and some put him even *above* Brando) is widely considered to be the greatest actor in the history of cinema. While he will be greatly missed, he did it for a very good, important reason and he has nothing more to prove. He has dropped the mic in the classiest way and left the building. :)
He saif he felt physical exhaustion after linclon. He becomes one with his character and is not the most sociable man to meet new sets and casts every year or multiple times per year. I'm just proud of Daniel. He puts his mental health and family above everything else. I would do that too if I had a career like him. But I still cannot wait for his comeback film.
I'm still Sad about that
So wonderful to hear Ellen talk about the power of playing a young woman. But now she's an absolute man. Wonders never cease.
Didn't nobody else notice the Daniel and Angelina tension? Hit rewind and enjoy.
he thinks she is stupid. and he is right.
Did you know tha the confessed that in past he liked Angelina.
@@Nina-oi1qk i'm sure you're an Angelina hater! You obviously don't know that he confessed in the past that Angelina liked him and look how poorly informed you are that in the British awards 2018 c ame to greet her like Francis MCdormand.
There's no tension, you are making it up, Angelina is trying to keep calm because she knows she was sitting beside DDL, and DDL is just a shy person who doesn't love to talk much, that's it...
I didnt see It lol
I just dont want to hear anyone but DDL!!
What part of the video is when Clooney praises DDL?
How'd they get DDL in there with all those hollywood hacks.
Ikr.
It’s actually sad that people, specially Americans, think only about Europeans when it comes to talent.
There’s also talent among there “Hollywood hacks” too. Many are bad actors but others are great American actors.
But I guess it’s true that nobody is a prophet in their own land as they say.
DDL
Is that back in 07 or 08 ?
Taylor Delma yep, 2008 I guess
The twist at the end being this was saved by a serious Ellen Page fan.
Bad interviewers..Maybe too much in awe..These people are great actors..Stick to questions about acting..Geez
James McAvoy legend without the statuette, he doesn't need it and doesn't bother with this crap anymore.
such talent. I do not like the way this format is. I prefer the way they shot it now. in a small board room.
what did George Clooney do? why call him?
Yeah exactly, he is just an overrated actor who pretends to be a big deal...
@@marjanp4784 Well he's not overrated like DDL?
@@reedrichards7109 overrated like 3 time Oscars winner??? Right?
@@marjanp4784 Yes right, Clooney should've won for Directing at that time.

professor x american accent is incredible
why is jolie speaking in an accent
What accent?
She just speaks like that.
such a great group but the camerawork and sound sucks.
Actors are nuts.
Only one dedicated person in the room.
Sooo dedicated that he retired ☠️
DDL is the GOAT
Amazing actors....too bad DDL is there to steal all they're shine without even having to say shit lolz
whats the movie that daniel was talking about?
stephen lim “Kes” by Ken Loach from 1969. The actor he’s speaking about is David Bradley. Not that you need to hear it from a stranger on the internet but it is a terrific film.
Thomas Harayda
Thats not the movie he was talking about, its actually "Yes" Directed by Lyndsey Anderson Starring Malcolm McDowell about a very Strict Boarding School.
Charles Bukowski nope.. you are both right. Lmao he talks about both..back to back 😂😂
@@andrewdelaney1448 The Anderson film is called, 'If'. Not 'Yes'.
Clooney's posture made it almost impossible for me to watch the video.
It's really heartbreaking seeing how deeply unhappy Elliot was at this time in his life. Trapped inside an exterior that he never felt comfortable in. That sadness was always visible, and I never knew why it was there until he came out. I'm very happy to see him smiling much more often nowadays.
Geeezzzz....they all look super awkward and uncomfortable! lol smh
And the ending lmao.. I hid under the bed
This about as exiting as watching paint dry!
A roundtable is not supposed to be exciting
What the hell is DDL doing here?the rest doesn’t deserve to sit beside him..
Sayantan Sarkar he’s one of the greatest actors ever but he’s not god lol
Oh, come on. DDL is amazing but y'all kiss his ass too much. He's human like all of us.
The music is so bad.
انجلينا قاعدة مش قبله حد
Elliot Page played a pregnant 16 year old girl. That's impressive. DDL is the 🐐.
DDL could've easily played Eliot's role in that movie.
lmfaoo!! @@niandra_t
Well now I understand why Angelina Jolie didn’t like Marion Cotillard in a movie together with Brad Pitt. She’s so far away from her and gives a cold feeling. Hearing rumors about her and all being true. She’s on a entire different level of acting, I’m not a fan of neither but Marion’s movies are just captivating.
Ellen page was so impressed by DDL's method acting she decided to become Elliott Page.
She should get a rassie for it too such a crutch now if she not hired its because the casting lgbtqmnop plus sign ? Jackass sign im a frog truly inside my body sign phobic
What's with the stupid music?
I love James, but i wished that he talked a little less and Daniel talked a little more
Nah let James talk he's great
DDL was the most interesting person on the table but he is too humble and prefers to listen rather than speak.
If anyone has any knowledge of the craft Daniel Day Lewis is definitely top 5 D.O.A if not #1 Actor of all time .........i am very disappointed on his lame ass introduction especially the other 5 individuals are not worthy enough to sit at the same table really its ridiculous ........ but if the other 5 were Marlon Brando , Robert Dinero , Al Pacino , Denzel Washington and Dustin Hoffman it would be worth watching ....
Well said 👍👍👍
Shut up
He's an actor not God 😏😏
@@priyanshuverma2749 God is an invention, some of us prefer to have DDL as a God of acting rather than someone who doesn't really exists.
Please, please,George andJames ,shut up and let us hear Daniel and his methods.ty
Lol
Jolie has nothing on Cotillard.
Who asked? You know Angelina's so beautiful well
Tuco Benedico Pacifico Juan Maria Ramirez , nice pic man
Actually, they're both fine, talented actors. And, easy on the eyes. 😍
Why compare
James McAvoy should have taken DDL’s nomination spot that year. DDL is a super overrated actor and ‘atonement’ worked because McAvoy broke your heart. He was such a pure character and what happened to him was an injustice.
God no,, oh no no no
Wow you know nothing about movies, do you?
Syed Shourob um, I’m actually a screenwriter/video editor with a BA in cinema but thank you for that assumption. I don’t have to have my head up DDL’s ass to know about movies.
Natalie Zayas-Bazan wow such credentials but still no knowledge
Syed Shourob rule #1: just because people don’t agree with you, doesn’t mean they are wrong. DDL is as overrated as Heath ledger. It’s my educated opinion and I’m allowed to have it. Here, read this and educate yourself: www.google.com/amp/s/amp.cinemablend.com/news/2487719/beloved-movies-that-roger-ebert-hated
Hmm. What is Angelina doing there? She should be shining their Oscars.
Angelina Jolie who won an oscar and is a bigger icon than everyone here combined.
@@serenaistheb.o.a.t Angelina Jolie a bigger icon than all of them combined? She doesnt even deserve to drink feet washed water of Lewis.
@@YC-bi4kj She's won the highest-ranking accolades of her profession and is the most famous artist in the table. Not to mention that she's the second highest-paid actress. Humanitarian work is also a huge plus. Also, she's drop dead gorgeous as per general public opinion. So yes, I'd consider her the most iconic - as in the one with the biggest impact on society. Now, as for artistic talent, that is purely subjective but her Oscar and two Golden Globes (earned at the beginning of there career) would agree so. You must be thinking of Clooney.
@@davidecolin bro most iconic actress has nothing to do with most impact on society, if that's the case we can put Greta over there & she'd the most iconic by your parameters. Most iconic artist means the one with most accolades or wins & Lewis would alone tilt the scale Vs all the rest at that table. Angelina can be your personal favourite but keep your bias out if it

I love everybody here but Angelina Jolie, this roundtable is not for her presence.I am sorry Jolie fans
It would have been better had Page and McAvoy hadn't been there with the others.
