- Angelina Jolie (Unbroken), Christopher Nolan (Interstellar), Richard Linklater (Boyhood), Mike Leigh (Mr. Turner), Bennett Miller (Foxcatcher) and Morten Tyldum (The Imitation Game) discuss their new films, open up about ethics, fears, family and what drives them: "We're all kind of control freaks, right?"
"It's an impulse to tell stories, to make things up, to get people doing things," Mike Leigh, director of "Mr Turner", explains about film directing. Rookie director Angelina Jolie shares that her passion for directing came to her accidentally and occurred because she wanted to "protect the material" of the script she wrote for the now motion-picture film, "In the Land of Blood and Honey", in which she made her directorial debut. When asked if the critically-acclaimed film, "Foxcatcher", changed director Bennett Miller, he said, "It broke me." Miller explains that the two hour and 14 minute film that audience has seen was once an over four hour cut before it was edit meticulously for a period of one year. Richard Linklater, who filmed "Boyhood" for a span of 12 years, explains that the film making was a "marathon"and a "gift." "I have a very understanding wife, you need to have a partner that really understands what you're doing and going through because you become extremely focused on yourself and what you're doing," said "Imitation Game" director Morten Tyldum when asked what kind of toll directing takes on his personal life. "If i really believe that what I'm doing is going to give the audience the best experience possible, I think that comes across [through the film]" Christopher Nolan, director of Interstellar, said about his sense of responsibility while filmmaking.

"Try making a Batman film, trust me, they'll come burn your house down if they don't like what you've done."
So accurate lol.
or make a star wars film even tougher
You are an idiot.
+Matej Marić how?
the pressure of making star wars episode 7 was far greater than, making a successful batman film, the history of the franchises tells anyone that...
+ringoice360 Star Wars is easy
I almost wish Nolan was the moderator. He's so humble and he is genuinely interested in everyone else's films and their thoughts on film.
Nolan was doing a much better job than the actual interviewer
I don't know if you'll see this five years later but i completely agree with you.
He's so bad at letting the subjects speak, he keeps interrupting them. It goes on in every single interview he holds.
@@Mo-wv6xn the interviewer or nolan?
@@kiba7396 the interviewer
@@kiba7396 galloway
I really like how Christopher Nolan is asking questions of the other other Directors. It really shows that he is a student of his own craft. Willing to learn from his own peers.
Very true... He's my favourite film maker...
The Prestige is my favourite movie of his.
He’s a genius!
One might argue that he got the idea for dunkirk from unbroken.. definitely not the story but the almost unknown cast
@@jojo_n_dat7325 Masterpiece.
The comments in a nutshell:
70% Nolan is the greatest
30% the interviewer is bad
Valid
Sorry where are you from??
The interviewer isn’t bad it’s that Chris is so curious about the craft
I love how Christopher Nolan sits there like a king. And he fucking is.
I get it that the interviewer has to keep the conversation going with new questions but it's really frustrating when one of the directors is saying something interesting and he just interrupts. I like the more natural conversations that the directors carry and I enjoy their questions more than the mundane questions the interviewer asks.
Agreed. Incredibly rude and, as a result, uninformative.
I already knew that this would happen when I realized that Stephen Galloway was the host. They should have always Matthew Belloni conducting the roundtables.
I hate to say this, but they're getting worse every year. A few years ago, they used to be over and hour with no interruption. Now they're under 50 minutes, they keep interrupting the flow of the conversation to show us clips we've already seen AND the interviewer keeps interrupting.
I think the main reason is that the purpose of this roundtable is not really to have meaningful discussion about filmmaking, but more for them to create snippet 1-2 minute videos which can be shared on blogs and facebook. It is kind of sad, but I see where they are coming from
***** Yes, that's probably the case. But even in this context it should be possible for the moderator to have a better attitude. For example, Matthew Belloni conducted the writers roundtable very well.
Did anyone else see Christopher Nolan try to tell Richard Linklater that Slackers was a defining film in his career, but get his voice drowned out by everyone else?
Mike Leigh's description of how he fell in love with film is brilliant.
it paints such a vivid picture in my mind i can see the image behind my eyes. amazing.
Definitely one of the better roundtables, but my GOD I wish Wes Anderson, Fincher and PTA were among them.
Yeah PTA never does these things, which is a shame because he's utterly fascinating in interviews and talks he gives
Fincher and Nolan in the same table would be amazing.
He's hands down the best blockbuster director currently working, maybe ever. But I don't really consider that accolade to be one of a great filmmaker. He's ambitious and great at spectacle and effects, but not when it comes to writing, characters, or emotional resonance. If I could I'd have him make nearly every disaster and epic action flick but not much more.
Richard Linklater and Mike Leigh's comments are the best of this roundtable. I think they're the only remarkable filmmakers there: writers and directors who actually have something to say about the everyday life of ordinary people, and the world we live in. The best moment is when Leigh acknowledges Boyhood as an achievement at 18:30: "Wow, that is such a great idea. No one could beat that."
MARCELO ARIAS SOUTO I agree with you fully dude. I've only recently gained an affinity for Linklater but he perfects everyday life. Leigh is fantastic.
Linklater is so zen and not full of himself. Directors always try to portray themselves as tortured souls and though I'm sure they've got problems like the rest of us, Linklater is just sitting out in the sun enjoying life. Lol. Love that guy.
Imagine if we got Spielberg, Nolan, Scorsese, Tarantino, Fincher, and raise Kubrick and Hitchcock from the dead.
The world would explode
YOU ARE MEDDLING WITH POWERS WE CANNOT UNDERSTAND
also Paul Thomas Anderson and the Coen Bros.
Kyle Bower Mike Leigh is at this table and you want to get rid of him? Assuming you haven’t seen Naked
Denis Villanueve, Frank darabont,zemeckis,Sergio leone
I love how Stephen keeps trying to interrupt Linklater and change the subject but all the other directors just keep moving the conversation back to him and asking him questions. Lovely.
god i just admire Christopher Nolan, he's a mastermind

Nolan a better conductor of the interview than the interviewer it self...genius is genius
Angelina Jolie is a great example for why there need to be more female directors with different intentions, different approaches and different visions and world views. I love her thoughts and motives for making film, it is truly refreshing to see someone speak from their heart.
There are great things to come from Angelina Jolie, I can tell.
By the sea was shit
Except her movies have been total crap and the other directors here were bored as hell when she would rant.
no - angelina jolie is a perfect example of how money talks in providing short cuts into elusive fields so long as you're famous enough without ever having to do an inch of work in actually bothering to learn anything required for the skill set or having a modicum of natural talent, just so you can get a PR and ego boost, while thousands of hardworking, genuinely passionate, talented female directors are frozen out because they aren't a famous name.
jolie has no talent for directing. her "projects" have been terrible and colossal money bleeding flops. what's worse is she has NO impetus to learn - they're vanity projects and nothing more.
just listen to her speak........she's not talking about directing. she's barely talking about anything! long, incoherent ramblings about her children's fire and our inner strength...until mike has enough and straight up comes out with, "yeah, but are you a good *director* though?"
her presence here is embarrassing.
Really? Her movie fucking sucked.
That's probably true of Clint Eastwood and Robert Redford too, but then they directed a lot more movies because they were good at it.
Nolan: "What I believe is going to give the audience the best experience possible" very important words from Nolan. You can see in all his movies that he really knows how to make the movie an experience, that's why so many people love him. He's a brilliant filmmaker
Nolan is hypnotized by Linklater, Boyhood is totally in his wheelhouse, I can imagine him doing a similar thing with a sci-fi element, over a long amount of time, but with more of a fractured time line and more jumps backwards and forwards
Hahaha you predicted Tenet
Angelina jolie seems to be the only person to be able to honestly answer the question about ethics and raises some great points in doing so. I think it was super brave of her to join this round table being a new director, and it was refreshing to hear her influences behind film making - her reasons were quite noble and you can definitely tell that she is telling these stories because she feels that it is her purpose to do so. Maybe it is because she is new to directing that her views are almost idealistic but I do think part of it is because she is a women and a mother and that she is able to bring an alternate perspective, one which hollywood often seriously lacks.
Yeah that's a great moment when Nolan sees how passionate she is about film when she's seen that early Sidney Lumet movie he thought few others have.
@P N Shhh. Let people care about things.
@P N yeah, no virtue signalling is a made up thing by people who lack intelligence or empathy.
can not agree with you more!
Totally agree! Well articulated!
Notice how Nolan asks question and really gets into the mind set of other film-makers. A true film-lover.
I love the way how Christopher Nolan talks to Richard Linklater. He admires his work it shows :)
I love the way the Directors team up against the moderator near the end illustrating the naivete of his questions
Love that Chris Nolan was the first to answer the first question, that really shows his ambition and passion for filmmaking
I love Nolan and Linklater. Angie spoke so well. You can tell she's loving being a director. Now I wanna watch Unbroken so bad.
It’s an excellent movie of an incredible man. She did an exceptional job.
It's a great movie...
Exceptional film.
I love how aware and responsible Angelina Jolie feels toward casting and the cultural and political implications of her choices as a director. The other directors were squirmy about the ethics question, but she wasn't, and seemed most ethics-minded.
what’s the time stamp
This year I would like to see:
Alejandro Inarritu(The Revenant)
Quentin Tarantino(The Hateful Eight)
Denis Villeneuve(Sicario)
Danny Boyle(Steve Jobs)
Todd Haynes(Carol)
Steven Spielberg(Bridge of Spies)
Excellent choices, I would also like to add George Miller for Fury Road. I would love to hear him dive deep into the madness of making that film.
Nolan and Angie were vibing together! AWESOME!
I want a round table with Steven Spielberg, James Cameron, Martin Scorsese, Ridley Scott, Michael Mann. Second: Quentin Tarantino, Sam Mendes, David Fincher, Wes Anderson, Paul Thomas Anderson. I would to see Christopher Nolan face to face with David Fincher or Quentin Tarantino because they appreciate film and not digital cameras.
Christopher Nolan never shot in digital camera. He is one of the biggest film camera supporters. David Fincher shot Gone Girl and The Social Network in digital.
yo26721 I know Christopher Nolan never uses digital.. Gone Girl lost a certain quality it felt like tv show haha.. I was in my ipad and I couldn't go back.
Carlos Santana Are you kidding me? Gone Girl was beautiful. Just like every other David Fincher movie. This whole "DIGITAL LOOKZ BAD YO" shit is so stupid.
Ene Liviu You're right.
Hey buddy, Nolan shot Interstellar on 70mm IMAX and projected it on actual film at some theaters around the country. I happened to see one and it looked beautiful. Not many directors would do that. Surely not Fincher. Tarantino would though.
The host interrupts SO much and some of the stuff he says comes off weird. STOP, MAN!!
+Dean444ful He doesn't want any single guest to carry on for too long, so the others will have a chance to speak..
Iguana Mad it's not really that. A lot of the time they haven't been talking for long and he interrupts while he lets others keep talking for longer.
There's absolutely no warmth or charm in his interruption, just abrasive, stiff and rude.
Jonathan G exactly
Remember this is edited, he might not be cutting them off as much, and they are limited by time. These are very busy people.
They all seemed in awe of her beauty.. When Angie talked, they seemed mesmerized..
One day, one day I shall also be sitting there amongst these great artists. I make this promise to myself to keep dreaming and working even harder to be considered one of the greatest, to bring wonder, joy and tears to others through film. One day it will happen. I am certain of it.
+freegratuits me too. i wanna direct some day
+freegratuits What are you doing to make that a reality? Just curious.
zalien6 Sooooo much. Other than film stuff (writing, learning etc) I am making sure I am extremely disciplined and focused. I have to remain in my old life to pay bills but when I get home I don't hang around, I work to make it to the next step. Most of these film guys start by themselves and let the big studios run after them later. But the biggest thing is discipline and focus. I'm very sure I'll be there within the next 5 years because of how much I want it and how much I'm working at it.
freegratuits Why don't you just start a UA-cam channel? I suggest you move to LA also
+freegratuits That's sound awesome and the right attitude to have and do, but what are you actually doing towards your dream? Are you just a guy who works at McDonalds in the middle of know where who writes at night or do you have access and a platform to become a director? As in a foot in the industry, equipment, schooling, short films etc.?:)
when the moderator just cut off linklater, that was very rude.
That's an interesting roundtable but Nolan is just from another dimension !
I can imagine listening to a conversation between him and Tarantino! I mean, there's Spielberg, Tim Burton, and Scorsese and other greats and then there are Nolan and Tarantino. They're different but their childlike reaction and fascination to people, genuine curiosity backed by brilliant genius makes a great interview.
@Dattver Karresiii Excuse him for being an admirer of a quality film maker...

He does that at all his round tables.
chris nolan has a big time man crush on linklater.. those puppy eyes at 16:25
Really love his gay look...

Nolan: Would I hold a gun to an actor? Of course not.
Linklater: Why would you have to?
This guy's asking some wacky questions.
Angelina is one of the most beautiful women, watching this truly made me melt.. Her beauty, grace and confidence is beyond justiciable. She's a woman of humanitarian work, and she believes in excelling. May her words and grace forever flourish.. She thrives on eminence, and she will continue to lead & inspire women worldwide. ❤️
Angelina Jolie is such an amazing person, I admire her so much. She is a person I will remember for a long time!
Can Anybody else not help by admire Jolie's humility?
Can we please get an all female director's roundtable? Sofia Coppola, Kathryn Bigelow, Ava Duvernay, Angelina Jolie, Jane Campion, Lisa Cholodenko etc...
dante de koker Yass!! Add Mira Nair to that list
Do female directors need a separate category? I'm sure these ladies should simply be part of the regular round table. But they need to have movies out at the right time, of course.
Plus Patty Jenkins and Greta Gerwig
Christopher Nolan is such a Genius
+Įncognîto S Amen
He can write and direct an original (Inception) AND direct Batman..
He's the most overrated director of all time. And his Batman movies were bland and uninspiring.

I don't want to be that guy complaining about the moderator, because I understand...but man...I don't even know why he has to move it along. It's filmed, so can't you just let them talk and edit it down later on? It's not like a live show and there's no audience. I don't know, he's a pretty good moderator I just don't like how he cuts them off.
Propably all the directors there got an agreement to be part in a ...-hour interview... He doesn't want to loose time... Still... Pretty weak moderating
yea its online anyway, if it runs too long u can just skip through it, what;s the harm in running over a few minutes or even more
Deadstar: The Animated Series He's far too precious with his questions, its as if he already has the answers in his mind then cuts down anyone who deviates from that.

Shows 15 seconds of interstellar and I start crying. I’ve seen this film nearly 50 times and That scene where he is saying goodbye to his daughter gets me everytime. Interstellar is a timeless masterpiece, as are all of Nolan’s films. Chris is just not of this world.

I love him and his films but Tenet.. I felt like i was trying to divide something for 2 solid hours..
@@rebeccacoleman9910I love all of his films but Tenet I just dont care for and partially because of how baffling it is. Maybe I’m too stupid for it I dunno
wow,, angelina had a lot of courage going into that room full of a bunch of guys who were veteran directors, she handled herself very well though!
Nolan is so intriguing. A director/writer of his level is still looking to learn, you can tell from this interview he's taking advantage of being around all these other directors and looking to learn more from it
Stephen is so annoying and awkward. I really hate it when he moderates. STOP INTERRUPTING.
I know he is so annoying...just let them at least finish their sentence for goodness sake!!
+iCrackediTTv is he actually interrupting or is this just edited to make it seem that way?
+OGbonglord He's interrupting. You can see the look on the people's faces when he does it.
+OGbonglord It's a bit of both
+iCrackediTTv He really is, also he can't seem to pronounce people's names correctly.
There are a few interruptions that were made in this roundtable that are unforgivable.
Richard Linklater expressing about breaking new ground in film and approaching new subjects conveying life and inner life was interrupted Stephen asking an amateurish question about a whether they would pull a gun on an actor.
Infuriatingly poor timing you could even see Mike Leigh getting frustrated.
This is why I prefer the actors studio for in depth conversation and there should be a directors studio or just get a new presenter.
I may just be ignorant, but it seems the reporter is dictating and cutting people off instead of guiding and nurturing the organic conversations. I found he did the same thing in The Actor's Roundtable. They have so much wisdom, and I want to hear it and the little things they say. But he seems to put his own opinions and ideas against those of the directors. Or I may just be over thinking it.
He does the same shit every year. It's terrible.
Chelsea Green Not everyone is of the same caliber ..so individual catering makes people feel special.
@@glass12 this year's ( 2019) roundtables were nice and decent.. i mean he didn't cut anybody. That dumbfuck finally learnt some manners..

This is actually an edited version. So all 'ums' and 'aahhhhs' are removed. All awkward pauses, pauses between questions etc are removed. That's why it looks as if he is interrupting. But, nonetheless, he could be a bit more accepting and allow for a free conversation.
Nolan is an amazing director, a seriously talented story teller.
It is incredibly inspiring to see Angelina Jolie in this round table. The single female holding her own in an industry of men. This is what the statistic looks like. She has always been a trail blazer. This is why she is an Icon to me. Great job!

Christopher Nolan talking to Richard Linklater and expressing admiration for his films excited me. My two favorite directors in the same room, having a conversation! Love how respectful everyone was of each other and how they genuinely seemed interested in each other's movies.
I like the fact that Angelina was put amongst the greats, I mean she is One of the Greats as far as acting and has been on numerous film sets, any director would jump at the chance to direct her, im pretty sure she will keep excelling and make a name for herself as an accomplished director/Actor
Clearly Nolan has more interest with everyone on the table.

few tips. Do 90 minute interviews. Do it with three guests. Plan for a few questions to start it off but let the CONVERSATION flow. Have some backup questions ready when the conversations comes to a still. Have a theme within a theme. So invite directors but have a theme you are going to talk about, like the collaboration with the writers of the scripts or book they are adapting. So you can do more roundtable director interviews with other directors and other themes but still about their new project. Then have a more warm setting. Like a living room that is straight out of a movie. Build it as a set but on location would be better with a view over LA. Do less cutting. More close ups. Get B Roll from their projects so you can cut with it. POINT is we want the learn more about these people so let them do the talking and do not interrupt!
i love Angelina Jolie and how she shows her belief and decided to make the movie about it.. she's great and she's beautiful
I'm sure Galloway thinks he's grilling the directors with challenging questions, but "Would you ever hold a gun up to an actor's head?" Seriously? What kind of interesting answer were you hoping to get from that one?
Angelina Jolie is such a powerful figure for more female directors in the film industry. All these directors have they're own creative input thats works well for they're movies and Angelina gives heart and soul to make the story of Unbroken a touching and rewarding experience.
In this years roundtable I want Steven Spielberg (Bridge of Spies), Ron Howard (In The Heart of The Sea), Jeff Nichols ( Midnight Special), Scott Cooper (Black Mass), Brian Helgland (Legend), Danny Boyle (Jobs), Quentin Tarantino (The H8ful Eight), Ridley Scott (The Martian) and JJ Abrams (Star Wars). That would be a badass panel... And boy could you learn a lot for them.

For those bashing Angelina I think she is actually a good director and a great artist. I bet you people are the same ones who bashed Ben Affleck but time showed us he is one of the best directors who emerged in the past 10 years. Just because someone is a public figure and a 'celebrity', that doesn't make them automatically bad.
stephen galloway is absolutely unbearable. the other roundtable interviewers are so much better. oh, and "richard linklatter"? really?
ok ... so i agree with you on your first point but whats wrong with Richard Linklatter
sebastian galoria hes saying that the guy pronounced linkLater's name wrong
sebastian galoria I think it's the way he pronounces the name. Some say Link-later, he says Link-latter.
He always seems to get good discussions though. I'd rather he was sharp and did that than mild and only asked polite, timied, boring, easy Qs
He's definitely not on form with this one. Kept doing the cardinal sin of interviewing, interrupting just as the answer gets interesting. Kudos to Mike Leigh for playing the role of surrogate interviewer with Jolie's waffle answer early on.
I think Nolan should have headed this interview because I can't stand this interviewer.
33:07 - I love how Mike Leigh doesn't even try to conceal his boredom with this process.
That title is so misleading, I would definitely change it. Get your shit together, THR, there are 6 filmmakers at the table!
***** lol you're right.
I love listening to Linklater talk about films and how he started, especially when you have people like Nolan talking about they started at 8 but Richard didnt start til early 20's. I suppose I can relate more to Linklater in that respects.
Still, I dont get the hate on Nolan, he has made some outstanding films, and even though Interstellar got some hate I really enjoyed it
As soon as a director like him (who is acclaimed but moves through the "mainstream" arena) starts getting even more popular, an increasing amount of people start being nitpicking because they may have preconceived notions about things that have a wider appeal. Nolan has had his flaws but so have every director in history but some folks can be more strict when evaluating projects with a broader audience and that are supposed to be good films although they don’t see them as such for many reasons (as the aforementioned ones) like with Nolan’s films. Now, Interstellar was praised but yes, there was a certain amount of criticism which a few have valid points but others were far stretched. Anyways, this won’t change in the foreseeable future because humans always tend to find something to be complaining about, not matter if it’s good or bad. I mean, Parasite was considered "underrated" but as soon as it got more recognition like from the Oscars, it began to become "overrated" amongst some people. And on and on it goes.
The awkward moment when you realize that among all these great filmmakers, Angelina Jolie is the only Oscar winner amongst them :p

Aaagh! Christopher Nolan! Finally! ☺️
Director: Starts saying something interesting.
Stephen Galloway: Let me stop you right there.
Quickly reading through some comments, and since I didn't see anything, I gotta say it's so good to see Mike Leigh at this roundtable. Everything he said about the craft--spot on, and spoken with intelligence, class and wit. Even his storytelling ability when he explained the first time he saw a film had me hooked. It was great to see everyone at the table listening intently when he spoke, knowing a real master was talking. For anyone interested in his films, I highly suggest "Naked". A really incredible film.
Angelina's beauty shines so brightly I'm not sure if I could hold eye contact for more than a few seconds. It almost hurts to look at her.
Who gives a shit about her beauty when this is a discussion about film making and directing. Both of which she has no real talent of doing and she doesn't know how. Her looks can't save her in this arena.
over rated. Beauty is internal. Her answers were planned and didn't appear spontaneous at all to me!
^^ Lmfaoo why are you guys so bitter???
That seems a rather personal confession entirely off-point. It makes a person want to advise you to... I don't know... Seek help? Come back when cured?
She's really not that pretty. Disproportionate bony face with oversized lips.
Love Angelina she talks we listen!
Thats because angelina is a work in progress director, and she is rounded one the very best its intimidating but a good experiense for her
Okay, I'm at 33:26 now and all of the directors just turned on the moderator when he bluntly interrupts Bennett Miller when he's in the middle of laying down the philosophy that drives his sense of ethics when it comes to representing historical characters. Seriously, let me moderate this panel.
I'm frustrated because these roundtables, generally, are so well produced and moderated and the discussion is so lively and interesting. It's a conversation, not a Q&A where we have to make sure we get through 40+ people lined up at two different microphones.
1. Christopher nolan
2. Morten tyldum
3. Bennett Miller
4. Mike leigh
5. Richard Linklater

+ppwalk05 Mike Leigh is one of a handful of film-makers who captures English life perfectly. It's as close to documentary that film gets.
Lee Lorenz all of his films contain ridiculous caricatures and laughable dialogue. Only a Guardianista could be convinced that Leigh's garbage is authentic or good.
To each his own, man, but he's courageously taking chances in the process that none of those others people are and he's completely independent.
Another Year, Vera Drake, Happy Go Lucky and Mr. Turner are fantastic!
Nolan is so charismatic, you are just glued to the screen when he starts speaking.
I think the point of a "Round Table" is the people around the table talking to each other and the host has to just stir the conversation, not interrupt a guest while they're talking and ask another guest a completely different thing. What a jerk!

I loved Anne Hatheway's Catwoman so much. But my first choice was always to see Angelina Jolie for the role. Nolan would've made her a great Catwoman. I think Eva Green or Emily Blunt should be the new Catwoman.
+Mr. Heisenberg Eva green is a perfect cat woman.
lucamolta Yes. She's so sexy and has that sexy goth look. Would've been a great Harley Quinn as well.
honestly i wish she was in more. she's timeless. Anne Hatheway was refresing because she was surprising it was a good character acting gig for her. however those Green eyes positively feline. Penny dreadful huurry up
+Mr. Heisenberg Anne hatheaway was good but the film was a total mess. She didnt really fit in Nolan's portentous and dark universe etc.
No one will ever be better than Michelle Pfeiffer
Wonderful roundtable! definitely enjoyed their conversation.
I really like this series, knowing how directors, producers and actors create an unified output is pretty interesting, one can learn many things from. I think the thing that might make this series more adorable is that to also invite scene designer and those are responsible for special effects in movies. I'm not saying that because to support a specific group, just as an ordinary fan who likes movie and cinema and interested to hear their challenges. At the end, thanks a lot. I really enjoyed it!
9:34 Lmao, she couldn't say "It's about sending a message" with fucking Nolan in the room.
Nathan Joan Drade
Can you explain?

This was one of the better roundtables. I really enjoyed it. It was nice to see support from each director instead of the egotistic atmosphere.
God, I can listen Richard Linklater for hours and hours. I wish he made a TED talk
Incredible interview! So much talent and excellent questions raised.
Finally a roundtable with chris nolan :D
